Abilities
Riley is skilled with guns, swords, and spears. He has limited knowlage of magic, but that he does know falls into his element, along with some fire and wind. He is flexible and has a good rate at dodging normal attacks as well as moving fairly quickly but only at the limits of a normal human.
History
Riley grew up an identical twin, mostly trained by his father rather then his mother. As a result he got a better feel for edged weapons then his twin, Reno Nightstorm, did. When Riley's father left when he was 12, the boy was devistated and lost his ability to trust in others. When his brother split then his mother just didn't come home, Riley devoloped an abandonment issue.
Lost and abandoned by his family, Riley fell in with a bad crowd. An older man named Sidney took him in. Sidney took in a lot of children who didn't have homes and families. He was not abusive towards them in any sense but he did train them to be mercenaries. Teaching them to steal and to kill and to trust in him. As a result the children called him their uncle, and their leader.
As time went on, Riley found himself second in command of Sidney's gang, known as the Dragoons. They had some training in the ancient arts that went along with such a term, but were blood-thirsty mercenaries rather then dragon trainers and elite defenders of this and that.
It wasn't until he was 35 that Riley met up with his twin brother again. Reno was in charge of a rival but rather knew mercenary group in IMARU city known as the Dark Knights. Sidney, not knowing much other then they were compitition, sent Riley and company in to shut them down the hard way. The battle raged and would have turned deadly when someone noticed that the leader of the rival gang looked very much like their gang's second in command, just with a thinner build and more hair.
After Reno got out of his coma Riley made amends with him. The two brothers got on speaking terms and Reno introduced him to his best friend and the friend's family, the Tsuriai's. It was there that Riley met the youngest Tsuriai, Celeste, who was just 18 at the time. After a short courtship, the two were married and pregnent. Celeste gave birth to a daughter, Meredith Tsuriai. It was not long after that when Riley learned of Celeste's dark side. She was psychotic, like her oldest brother, Kyle, and he became worried about her. When he was 38 he made a fateful choice. He left his wife.
Riley didn't know it, but Celeste was pregnant with twin boys. She nearly lost them when she, out of rage, accepted the offer to become a creature called a shadow. The result was one of the twins, Jack, became corrupted as well in her womb, and the other, Jesse, was untouched. It was this point that Akai, his father, returned in secret. When the twins were born, Celeste wanted nothing to do with them, and gladdly turned them over to their grandfather. Riley never got to see them, but he felt bad about what had happend. The problem was, he never told anyone. He would have been glad to raise his kids, but never had the chance. His father raised them in another time period (as he had learned to time travel through various rips in space/time) and by the time Riley saw them a year after, they were both 15. He got to witness a horrible act. Jesse murdered Jack, hating and fearing him for his shadow self. Jack did return from the dead however, becoming a repear and a time traveller.
Riley couldn't take it any more. He tried to run away again. His family was torn appart. His wife hated him, and his kids wanted nothing to do with him. That's when he ran smack into his father, and Akai was mad at him too. Infact, Akai had decided Riley was worthless and didn't deserive life. Riley tried as best he could to fight, and it was a great struggle, but in the end one he lossed. Akai killed him.
One would think it ends there, but it didn't. Years later, after Akai had become a slave once again, he had found himself in a strange possition where two people lay claim of him as their propperty. To settle the dispute he decided to give one a different slave. His son. Using some of his own power, Akai did something he probably couldn't do again. He revived Riley. Technicly, he cloned him and summoned the soul back to the body, but close enough. As a result Riley has no scars, tattoos, or piercings to speak of. Well, not yet anyway.
