Tifa Lockheart flicks her eyes open... and looks at Reno lying on the bed. Curses at the sun and rocks and such

Tifa Lockheart says, "Poor Reno.... Cloud shouldn't have left you..."

Reno moves a hand up to his face, indicating that he's awake

Tifa Lockheart says, "But he's gotta do something... specially if Rufus is going to be leveling cities"

Reno traces his own face

Tifa Lockheart watches Reno.... Unsure what to do

Reno says, "..."

Tifa Lockheart says, "It must be terrible for you.... You probably don't even know I'm here"

Tifa Lockheart walks over to the bed and sits on it.... Careful not to startle Reno

Reno says, "hmm ... Tifa?"

Tifa Lockheart takes Reno's hand and taps it once... not being friendly enough to tap his nose like cloud does

Reno says, "oh... hi"

Reno traces his fingers over her hand and up her arm. Touches her face

Tifa Lockheart says, "Poor guy.... I would hate to be you... alone in that dark quiet place..."

Reno traces his fingers down her nose and such

Tifa Lockheart says, "It'd be just like being dead.... Cept you could still feel"

Tifa Lockheart shivers slightly... cuz its kinda creepy being felt

Reno only knows he's alive when he feels something. Takes his hand away. Folds his arms

Reno says, "so Tifa... what shall we discuss? I hope you don't hold a grudge from one year ago"

Tifa Lockheart takes Reno's hand and writes "No grudge... how about discussing Cloud?"

Reno says, "ok, what shall we discuss about him?"

Tifa Lockheart even though she is uncomfortable... she sets herself up like cloud showed her... so Reno can feel her talk and write at the same time

Tifa Lockheart says, "How did you fall for him?"

Reno says, "hmmm, I remember the first time I saw him ... in Aeris's church. I think he grew on me over time... which is why I didn't kill him"

Tifa Lockheart says, "You would have?"

Reno says, "then, when I saved his life a few weeks ago in that bar ... yes... I was a Turk... did what I told. What I was told. Hmmm, Tifa?"

Tifa Lockheart says, "I'm here... just thinking about what you said. You saved his life?"

Reno says, "Yeah, he would have drunk himself to death"

Tifa Lockheart says, "Why would he have done that?"

Reno says, "First time I was happy that Elena and Rude ditched me in Costa. I don't know Tifa..."

Reno frowns

Reno says, "Hello?"

Tifa Lockheart says, "I'm here"

Reno holds her hand

Tifa Lockheart says, "Cloud... he can get very depressed... he feels like he owes the world or something...."

Reno takes his other hand away. Puts both hands up to his eyes

Reno says, "Tifa, I want you to look at my eyes and see if they were fried out by the fever... or if they still look ok..."

Reno takes his hands away

Tifa Lockheart says, "Okay Reno...."

Reno opens his eyes

Tifa Lockheart looks at Reno's eyes

Reno blinks them

Tifa Lockheart says, "They seem okay.... Cloud doesn't seem to be bothered.... But then he loves you"

Reno folds his hands across his chest... didn't know what Tifa said

Tifa Lockheart grabs Reno

Reno says, "hmm?"

Tifa Lockheart Reno's hand and writes to him that his eyes are fine

Reno says, "I figured. All damage but that in the brain can be fixed ... Mines in my brain ... vision center burned out"

Tifa Lockheart pats Reno's hand

Reno says, "hearing burned out. But my eyes and ears are fine on their own. Did you remember what I said about Jungle Fever?"

Tifa Lockheart taps Reno's hand twice

Reno says, "Well, my advice is if you get it.... Kill yourself while you still have the strength unless you have a very good reason to live...."

Tifa Lockheart tries to change the subject

Reno says, "Tifa?"

Tifa Lockheart writes "You missed Cloud wearing a dress... back then... was cute:

Reno says, "come on ... please comment on that. Heh heh .... "

Tifa Lockheart writes Technically... no reason to live now at all... but still alive...

Reno says, "you?"

Reno says, "what do you think of me?"

Tifa Lockheart writes you are a good man, good for cloud... he loves you... happiest I've seen him

Reno smiles

Reno says, "that's great. Now that I'm stuck as I am ... he's my only reason to live"

Tifa Lockheart writes you don't even live for yourself?

Reno says, "It hurts that I will never hear his voice or see his smile ... but... at least I can feel his touch. Tifa, how can I live for myself now?"

Tifa Lockheart writes I am worried about Cloud.... And about you as well....

Reno says, "You think he will live?"

Tifa Lockheart writes I have confidence in him... when he sets his mind to something like that it happens

Reno says, "yeah. I know all to well"

Reno grins

Reno says, "hey, he did beat me a year ago"

Tifa Lockheart writes if you need a hug or anything... don't be afraid to ask... I promised I would take care of you

Reno says, "That fever was the second time I was close to death. I was afraid to tell Cloud this... but the first was when I nearly drowned ... when my sub got wrecked..."

Reno sighs

Reno says, "Tifa?"

Tifa Lockheart writes what made you decide you had to live and get outta there?

Reno says, "I didn't want to be beaten.... I was a Turk ... we do not die for the job"

Tifa Lockheart writes it seems like it was a lousy job... any perks?

Reno says, "My friends ... though... they did ditch me last month to get married and, that's how I met Cloud in the first place"

Tifa Lockheart writes well... if they hadn't... would you have met Cloud?

Reno says, "I wouldn't have been in the bar if they hadn't ditched me... so, they did a good thing"

Tifa Lockheart writes but if you hadn't met Cloud... you'd still be okay

Reno says, "but, I'd be alone. I'd have died alone. When the fever nearly claimed me... it would not have been that bad. I would have died in his arms"

Tifa Lockheart writes True... and he is very devoted to you... I just wish he didn't feel that saving the world was his duty or something

Reno says, "it's more like he want's to get back at the one who caused this. Tifa, what would you do if... you were in my place right now?"

Tifa Lockheart writes well... I would be alone... and begging for death

Reno says, "yes... is it true, he was willing to let me die on the boat, when he saw the pain I was in and the slim chance of me making it?"

Tifa Lockheart taps Reno's hand once

Reno says, "I think he told me that. Death would have been merciful ... but, I have something to live for"

Tifa Lockheart writes but would it have been merciful on cloud?

Reno says, "I can go through this. I don't know ... what makes him suffer more? The fact that I can't hear him or see him? Or... what it might be like if I was dead?"

Tifa Lockheart writes I don't know... but he seems to be happy you are here...

Reno says, "... he was crying on me the other day ... I think he was crying over me"

Reno smiles

Tifa Lockheart writes wouldn't you cry if you felt you had let down someone you loved dearly?

Reno says, "I don't feel like he let me down. I don't want him to believe it either. If I had lost my sense of touch though ... or, lost the ability to think straight ... I'd have rather died..."

Tifa Lockheart writes Cloud... I think he believes this is all his fault

Reno says, "It's not...."

Tifa Lockheart writes I know... but I wish we could get him to see that

Reno says, "heh heh.... See.... Hmm, what was I saying back on the boat?"

Tifa Lockheart writes he went off to check on the Reactors with Red... I didn't get to talk to him... he didn't want to stick around... to see you die I guess

Reno says, "he must have been so happy to hear that the fever broke"

Tifa Lockheart writes Elated... he looked all forlorn... then someone told him and he ran for your room... he only had come back earlier that day and was afraid for the worst

Reno says, "oh, so, neither of you realized ... I would not be able to hear or see?"

Tifa Lockheart writes No... But I don't think he cares... he does get frustrated easily you know... but not with you

Reno says, "how does it make you feel? That I can't hear what I'm saying ... and even with my eyes open all there is is darkness"

Reno blinks his sightless eyes

Tifa Lockheart says, "Reno... I wouldn't have given a damn about you a while ago... you were the enemy... but now... seeing how happy you've made Cloud..."

Tifa Lockheart sighs

Tifa Lockheart says, "Reno what are we gonna do with you... if cloud doesn't come back?"

Tifa Lockheart takes Reno's hand long enough to write, "Need anything?" on it

Reno says, "no ...I'm fine"

Reno rests his hands on his chest

Tifa Lockheart says, "You can't see or hear... yet you are fine... "

Tifa Lockheart gets out a book she borrowed from the library at Cosmo... and reads...

Reno says, "*murrmers to himself* I can't hear or see... this is hell ... *Tifa can hear it cause Reno does not know how loud or softly he's speaking*"

Tifa Lockheart looks at Reno for a moment... and shakes her head

Reno remembers back to when he nearly drowned

Reno says, "what was the last sound I hear? ...."

Tifa Lockheart says, "?"

Reno says, "Cloud's voice ... I remember now...."

Tifa Lockheart feels extremely sad.... And Takes Reno's hand so he doesn't feel alone...

Reno says, "What was the last thing I saw..."

Reno sighs

Reno says, "damn... I was too out of it.... Seeing all sorts of colors. ...."

Reno holds her hand lightly

Tifa Lockheart writes slowly He shouldn't have left you

Reno says, "hmm? He has to stop Rufus. Who else can?"

Reno yawns

Tifa Lockheart writes No one.... I guess. Maybe not even Cloud... but you should rest

Reno says, "I remember how tired I was on the boat. I wanted to sleep then. Part of me wanted to ... sleep forever"

Tifa Lockheart writes maybe it would have been better if you had...

Reno says, "why?"

Tifa Lockheart writes you just said this was hell... not being able to see or hear

Reno says, "not being able to see Cloud smile ... or hear him ... well ... I'm sure it hurts him to"

Tifa Lockheart taps Reno's hand once in agreement

Reno says, "but... I can still feel him do those things ... it isn't the same though. Tifa?"

Tifa Lockheart writes Reno.... Just hold on for him... he's gonna need you when he gets back

Reno says, "I will ... He's touch is enough to make me happy. When I think of the choice between only knowing his touch and not being with him at all"

Reno closes his eyes

Tifa Lockheart squeezes Reno's hand

Reno draws his hand away and rests it on his chest on top of his other hand

Reno says, "If he dies though.... I don't want to wake up"

Reno yawns. Falls silent... his chest rising and falling in a steady slow pace

Tifa Lockheart says, "He won't die. Not Cloud..."

Tifa Lockheart goes and falls asleep in her arm chair
