<Sanosuke> The dream... Hojo was in the dream.. hojo was there in his past.. but now Hojo was dead. What was Hojo doing in the past? no.. it was earlier then when he was with Zack.. but how? He hadn't known Hojo before that right?

<Sanosuke> as a child... Hojo lived in his town... Hojo used to be the doctor his mother would take him to.. that's right...

<Sanosuke> Cloud felt a sudden pinch. "HEy, wake up!" Tifa yelled.

<Gabriel> Cloud squeaks and sits up "Aiii!! Why'd you pinch me???"

<Sanosuke> "Cause you wouldn't wake up silly. come on, I made breakfast." She headed out his bedroom door.

<Gabriel> Cloud gets up and shakes his head.. wishing he had seen more of that dream.. it was important.. somehow

<Sanosuke> Tifa lived with him but slept on the couch at night... they were not lovers at all, just close friends. She was even sort of seeing someone in the costal town they lived in.

<Gabriel> Cloud gets dressed and goes out to the kitchen.. stretching lazily

<Sanosuke> Tifa had the food on the table and was eating. "Eat up... yah got to go look for work today."

<Gabriel> "Yeah... not looking forward to that... " Cloud says glumly "You'd think a hero wouldnt have to work...

<Sanosuke> She chuckled. "Come on, I'm sure there is work to be found for someone good with a sword. And if that fails you can get a job with me at the bar."

<Gabriel> "Yeah... I just.. am sorta old fashioned now I guess... now that all the monsters are just about gone...."

<Sanosuke> "Yeah, well... we'll think of something." Tifa smiled a little and got up. "I got to go to work."

<Gabriel> "Okay, I'll stop by later if I cant find anything..."

<Sanosuke> "Alright. Good luck Cloud." She walked out the door.

<Gabriel> Cloud eats his breakfast... still musing about his dream...

<Sanosuke> Hojo... that crazy guy... what did he have to do with Cloud?

<Gabriel> Cloud sighs and shakes his head, then grabs his sword after cleaning off the table.. 'why'd I have to dream about him?.. now its gonna bother me"

<Sanosuke> The air outside the home was warm as always... people walking this way in that in skimpy clothing looking to get a tan.,

<Gabriel> Cloud sighs, wishing he could loaf about like the perpetual tourists, but knows he's gotta find a job... he owes Tifa at least that

<Sanosuke> In the corner of his eyes he saw a flash of something dark.. dark blue...

<Gabriel> Cloud spins... his fighters instinct kicking in for some odd reason

<Sanosuke> He saw, standing against one build, a cigarette in his mouth, a certain turk with tangled red hair.

<Gabriel> "Reno.... what is he doing here?" Cloud mutters to himself

<Sanosuke> The turks had technicly disbanded but... Reno was still dressed the same and he seemed to be looking at Cloud.

<Gabriel> Cloud wonders what he should do.. and decides to find out what Reno is up to.

<Sanosuke> "I see you're living here now..." Reno said coldly as ever.

<Gabriel> "Yes, most populated place there is, now that Midgar is gone...

<Sanosuke> "I like it here.. it's nice and warm."

<Gabriel> "Are you going to be a thorn in my side?"

<Sanosuke> "Why do you say that? You're no longer my enemy, remmeber??

<Sanosuke> "

<Gabriel> "I want peace now that everything is over... and I wont let you come even close to destroying what little I have... that is a warning Turk..."

<Sanosuke> "The turks are gone remember? I'm not a turk any more."

<Gabriel> "Whatever.. just stay outta my hair.."

<Sanosuke> "Just a momment... I'm interested in you Cloud Strife..."

<Gabriel> "Interested in me.. hmph.."

<Sanosuke> "Yes... no one ever beat me before."

<Gabriel> "Well I did... "

<Sanosuke> "That's why you interest me."

<Sanosuke> REno looked so scrawny that a breeze might blow him over.

<Gabriel> "Uh huh... want a rematch?'

<Sanosuke> "I lost my EMR but I can do hand to hand."

<Gabriel> "anytime... " Cloud says, cracking his knuckles "Im a little out of practice.. but you'll be a nice warmup"

<Sanosuke> Reno nodded. "Very well, let's fight outside of town."

<Gabriel> "Lead on stickman"

<Sanosuke> Reno grinned and spit out his cig before heading out of town.

<Gabriel> Cloud follows him... knowing he's supposed to be looking for a job... but feeling this is more important

<Sanosuke> Reno stood in a patch of grass and gazed at Cloud. "You ready?"

<Gabriel> Cloud unstraps his sword and sets it against a rock "Ready"

<Sanosuke> "Then come at me Cloud Strife.. show me what you got.." Reno got into a fighting stance,.

<Gabriel> "alright.... " Cloud says and attacks

<Sanosuke> Reno moved fast to avoide, faster then anyone Cloud had ever seen.. but somehow he was able to follow the movements as Reno worked on a mid body counterstrike.

<Gabriel> Cloud blocks it... and makes a grab for the former turk

<Sanosuke> Reno dodged back with the same speed muttering "amazing..."

<Gabriel> "Quit dodging an lemme hit you... wuss"

<Sanosuke> "It's amazing you can block me..." Reno said, jabbing for him.

<Gabriel> Cloud blocks him again "How so is it amazing... you punch slow"

<Sanosuke> "SLOW?" Reno flipped back and blinked. "Simply amazing..."

<Gabriel> "Yeah slow... actually try to hit me or something instead of playing?"

<Sanosuke> Reno flipped over him and landed... it was very fast to anyone else... "How fast was that to you?" Reno asked.

<Gabriel> "You got lead in your shoes?"

<Sanosuke> Reno stood still. "Tell me... you know Hojo before you joined SOLDIER?"

<Gabriel> "... I dont know.... I had a dream... but thats just a dream..."

<Sanosuke> "Tell me the dream then.. we'll start from there."

<Gabriel> "well.. I had a dream about my early childhood.... something I have a hard time remembering anymore.. my mom used to take me to a doctor... the doctor in that dream... was Hojo... but ... it was just a dream

<Sanosuke> "You ever know your father?"

<Gabriel> "no.."

<Sanosuke> "Got any tattoos or strange birth marks?"

<Gabriel> "Theres this thing on my back... " Cloud says... doing a near contortionists act to try and point it out

<Sanosuke> Reno walked over and lifted up Cloud's shirt to look at it.

<Gabriel> "Been there as long as I can remember..." Cloud says... feeling a little self concious

<Sanosuke> "Just as I thought..." Reno lifted up his shirt and in the mix of other strange tattoos.. mostly of snakes... was a tattoo very much like the one that was on Cloud's back.

<Gabriel> "So... what are you saying....."

<Sanosuke> Reno looked away. "Hojo made you too..."

<Gabriel> "m... made.... me?"

<Sanosuke> "Yes..." Reno had his back to Cloud now. "That's why the tattoo is there.. its an id mark."

<Gabriel> "So... that means I should destroy myself I guess... nothing that man did ever came to any good.... im liable to go psycho or somethin....... "

<Sanosuke> "That's just stupid.... He screwed up some times but not all of his creations were screwed up..."

<Gabriel> "I am screwed up... the only reason Im still with it at all is cuz of Tifa.."

<Sanosuke> "Whatever... I'll see you around kid... it's drinking time now." Reno walked off back towards town.

<Gabriel> Cloud sits down... and hugs his bustersword to his chest.... disturbed by what he has learned

<Sanosuke> created.... and Reno must have been too for what he said... did that make them brothers or something? And what about Sephiroth?

<Gabriel> "im not .. gonna let this get me down... and ... shit I was supposed to find a job.."

<Sanosuke> Tifa would be worried.. he should go talk to Tifa./

<Gabriel> Cloud gets up.. and slings his sword on his back.. heading back to town to where Tifa works

<Sanosuke> Reno happend to have picked that bar to crash and drink in.

<Gabriel> Cloud goes to the bar, leaning on it and waving Tifa over

<Sanosuke> Tifa, who seemed upset that REno was drinking at one end, went over to Cloud. "There you are! find a job yet?" She asked.

<Gabriel> "No.. Tifa we gotta talk..... "

<Sanosuke> "About what Cloud?"

<Gabriel> Cloud glances at Reno "me..."

<Sanosuke> "How come?" She whiped off the bar in front of him.,

<Gabriel> "I ran into him... and he told me something... and....."

<Sanosuke> "Ran into who?"

<Gabriel> "reno.."

<Sanosuke> "Then he came here is that it?" Tifa glanced at REno who was still drinking.

<Gabriel> Cloud nods "he.. totally upset me.. "

<Sanosuke> Tifa growled and walked over to Reno behind the bar. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO CLOUD?!!!" She screamed at him.

<Sanosuke> He barely even glanced at her, just drank.

<Gabriel> "tifaa!" Cloud squeaks.... "Look... just talk to me when you get home.. I havent found a job yet... Im gonna go to the docks now..

<Sanosuke> Tifa glared at Reno then nodded to Cloud. "Alright. Good luck Cloud."

<Gabriel> Cloud waves sheepishly and heads to the docks.... maybe he cant earn his keep with his sword there... but he is strong... maybe he can load and unload cargo or luggage

<Sanosuke> The dockmaster was there shouting orders to people... someone who had come into power after ShinRa became no more.

<Gabriel> Cloud goes over to the dockmaster, and pleads his case

<Sanosuke> The dockmaster listened and told Cloud to pick up the nearbye crate.

<Gabriel> Cloud goes over and lifts it somewhat easily

<Sanosuke> The dockmaster's eyes bugged out and he backed up some. "A-alright.. you're hired."

<Gabriel> "Thanks" cloud says, delighted that he finally has a job

<Sanosuke> "Come to work whenever you like.. you're paid bsed on hours pluss work done. I'll give you your punch card next time I see you."

<Gabriel> Cloud nods "I will come back tomorrow... I have to talk to a friend "

<Sanosuke> "O-ok... you can put the crate down now."

<Gabriel> "Umm... where you want it?"

<Sanosuke> "Anywhere is fine."

<Gabriel> Cloud gently sets the crate down...

<Sanosuke> "Amazing.." The doctomaster said under his breathe as he watched Cloud leave.

<Gabriel> Cloud heads back to his place to wait for Tifa to finish her shift... polishing his sword quietly while he waits

<Sanosuke> She came home grumpy. "He was there all day...."

<Gabriel> "What do you expect.. he is a turk"

<Sanosuke> "More then that... he didn't even pay... he got someone else to pick up the bill... I mean he just stood up, looked at another guy, barely said anything.. and got the guy to pay for him then left with him!!!" She sat down roughly on the couch. "I had no idea he was... gay."

<Gabriel> "He's a freak........ and I found out today Im a freak too..."

<Sanosuke> "Freak?"

<Gabriel> "I. Im not really sure.. but he said Hojo made me.......the birthmark thing... I have is really an id tatoo"

<Sanosuke> "What?? You sure he's not just trying to make you think stuff?"

<Gabriel> "I... I had a dream.. my mother.. took me to Hojo when I was little... "

<Sanosuke> "That dream you were talking about?"

<Gabriel> Cloud nods

<Sanosuke> "What did he say to you?"

<Gabriel> "I.. Im .. I challenged him to a rematch... and then he asked me about any marks I had on me..."

<Sanosuke> "You were out there fighting him?"

<Gabriel> Cloud nods

<Sanosuke> "kick his ass again?" She grinned.

<Gabriel> "No, he kept dodging... like he didnt really wanna fight.. he was just testing... "

<Sanosuke> "Still, I think he was just trying to put you on or something... you're not a freak Cloud."

<Gabriel> "I.. wish I could totally believe that Tifa..."

<Sanosuke> "Why? Something else that makes you belive?"

<Gabriel> "Why was the guy at the docks scared when I lifted that crate today?

<Sanosuke> "How heavey was the crate?"

<Gabriel> "Really light... at least to me...."

<Sanosuke> "Maybe... maybe it was heavey to them or something?"

<Gabriel> Im not that strong.... am I tifa?"

<Sanosuke> "I don't know... you do swing that huge sword around like it's nothing..."

<Gabriel> Cloud looks at his sword "Really.... here... you try an pick it up... youre strong"

<Sanosuke> Tifa lifted it and grunted. "Damn... I never relized how heavey this thing is..."

<Gabriel> "Its not heavy... for me......." Cloud says... frowning "If I am a freak... do you think I'll go nuts like Sephiroth?"

<Sanosuke> "No... Sephiroth went nuts cause of Jenova... she controlled him... he didn't know he... he was different... if you know you can't go nuts, right? and I'm here for you."

<Gabriel> Cloud nods "Thanks Tifa.... youve always been there for me..... even tho... well...."

<Sanosuke> "Hey, come on... you're like a brother to me Cloud." She grinned and set the sword down.

<Gabriel> "I got a job , so you dont have to worry about that anymore

<Sanosuke> "I'm so glad." She smiled. "I'll make dinner, you'll need your rest."

<Gabriel> "Thanks Tifa" Cloud says smiling and hanging his sword up for the evening

<Sanosuke> The next day was the first day of working at the docks. All the other workers watched him in awe.

<Gabriel> Cloud works happily, and seemingly tirelessly.. enjoying the fact that he's making his own money and doesnt have to burden Tifa as much

<Sanosuke> At noon the dockmaster sent everyone to lunch, including Cloud.

<Gabriel> Cloud takes his lunch and settles down on the beach... just watching things go by

<Sanosuke> That's when he spotted something odd down the beach on a large rock... Reno, laying on his back with no clothing save a pair of swim trunks.

<Gabriel> "Stupid Turk... has to be there ruining my view..." cloud mutters to himself

<Sanosuke> The thought of pushing him off the rock into the sand came to mind.

<Gabriel> Cloud ponders for a few moments.... then bounces to his feet and goes to do just that..... to get the eyesore out of his sight

<Sanosuke> Reno turned his head to look at him when he got near. "I see you're out here today."

<Gabriel> "... Why'd you have to come along and make my life miserable again?"

<Sanosuke> "I didn't come along.. I live here."

<Gabriel> "Well move..."

<Sanosuke> "This is my spot... you move if you like..." Reno continued to lay on the rock, seemignly soaking up the sun... all his strange tattoos plain to see.

<Gabriel> Cloud tosses Sand on Reno... bored and not sure what else to do

<Sanosuke> Reno sat up and shook the sand off. "You hate me for some reason I take it..."

<Gabriel> "Yes.. I was happy until you told me.. .that I m a freak"

<Sanosuke> "I didn't say freak... that's your word, not mine."

<Gabriel> "But its what I am... Im ... screwed up or something somehow... "

<Sanosuke> "Whatever.. think what you will... you're the perfect SOLDIER Cloud... even more so then Sephiroth..."

<Gabriel> "How can I be.. as far as I remember I was a dorky weak kid..."

<Sanosuke> "Weak..." Reno chuckled. "You're far from weak."

<Gabriel> "I know... and people are scared... because of my strength"

<Sanosuke> "It's amazing stuff... I'm not even that strong."

<Gabriel> "I just wanna be normal..."

<Sanosuke> "Heh... I don't even know what normal is..." Reno rolled onto his stomach, the tattoos of snakes and scales all over his back too.

<Gabriel> "How can you be so.. complacent about being a freak?"

<Sanosuke> "Cause... everyone's different... everyone is a freak somehow... normal is just a word people use to talk about themselves most times."

<Gabriel> "Yeah well Tifa saw you goin home with a guy last night..... least people are interested in you..."

<Sanosuke> Reno chuckled and glanced over at Cloud. "Not what you think Cloud... I just have the ablitiy to... charm... men."

<Gabriel> "Yeah.. well its something... If Tifa ever left I'd be alone... she's gonna leave sometime ... she has a boyfriend or something...'

<Sanosuke> "You just don't look... that's your problem."

<Gabriel> "I dont know where to look"

<Sanosuke> "That's your other problem... you do have a sex drive, don't you?"

<Gabriel> "yeah....."

<Sanosuke> "Ever had sex?"

<Gabriel> '... no"

<Sanosuke> Reno chuckled softly and moved to sit up. "Why not?"

<Gabriel> "When you are busy running around trying to stop psychos .... etc... its hard to slow down for that sort of thing..."

<Sanosuke> "What about when you were young?"

<Gabriel> "I dont remember..

<Sanosuke> Reno ran a hand through his red hair and got off the rock. "I remember a lot from when I was little..."

<Gabriel> "Well I dont.... so dont rub it in..."

<Sanosuke> "Really... I wish I couldn't remember some times... all that time I was locked up... untill I finnaly escaped him."

<Gabriel> ".."

<Sanosuke> Reno chuckled and stared into Cloud's eyes.

<Gabriel> Cloud blinks

<Sanosuke> "He must have created you to counter me..." Reno chuckled, looking away.

<Gabriel> "Created... I dont .. like that word"

<Sanosuke> "How come?"

<Gabriel> "Makes me feel like Im not human....."

<Sanosuke> "You seem more human then I am."

<Gabriel> "Oh.... well.. youre kinda a slug.. so I dont count you as human at all.."

<Sanosuke> "Slug?" Reno raised an eyebrow.

<Gabriel> "Yeah.. can I pour salt on you.... or better yet chuck you in the ocean?"

<Sanosuke> "How amusing... I'll see you later Cloud..." Reno walked past him.

<Gabriel> Cloud sighs and hears the bell to return to work...

<Sanosuke> That night Tifa was on the couch, frowning.

<Gabriel> Cloud returns from work... a tad sore... and looks at Tifa perplexedly

<Sanosuke> "Hey Cloud... how was your day?" She tried to smile a little.

<Gabriel> "I worked a lot.. it was okay.." Cloud says, stretching and rubbing his lower back

<Sanosuke> "That's good..." She frowned, apperently having something on her mind.

<Gabriel> "Whats wrong?"

<Sanosuke> "You know that guy I told you about last night that paid for Reno's tab?"

<Gabriel> "Yeah?"

<Sanosuke> "Well... they found him dead today... the doctor said some sort of poision, possibley venom of some kind, got into his body... then the animals got to him.. his body was found in the woods."

<Gabriel> "Poisonous snakes around here maybe?"

<Sanosuke> "Maybe.. that's what the doctor thinks... I just find it strange, don't you?"

<Gabriel> "I dunno... drunks can walk off and do stupid things sometimes Tifa..."

<Sanosuke> "Yah... but what worries me is he was last seen with Reno."

<Gabriel> "You think he killed him huh?"

<Sanosuke> "Yah but I have no proof..."

<Gabriel> "Well.. if it happens again... and Reno's the one whose last seen... then you'll have your proof"

<Sanosuke> "Yah... so be careful around him, ok?"

<Gabriel> Cloud nods "Im not afraid of him.."

<Sanosuke> "You're tough Cloud." She grinned.

<Gabriel> "Of course... Im a freak...."

<Sanosuke> She laughed.

<Sanosuke> The next day Cloud ran into someone else... he ran into Rude during his lunch break.

<Gabriel> "Great... another one..."

<Sanosuke> "Hi Cloud..." Rude said softly "What's up?"

<Gabriel> "I wish my time was up.... you arent gonna cause any trouble for me are you?"

<Sanosuke> "No.. no... Look... I don't hold any grudges... I have no wish to fight."

<Gabriel> "Okay..." Cloud says uneasily "but what are you doing here?"

<Sanosuke> "Looking for work... just arrived today."

<Gabriel> "Ahh.... well Reno's here too..."

<Sanosuke> "I figured... it's warm here... he likes warm places..." Rude sighed.

<Gabriel> "Tifa thinks he killed someone..."

<Sanosuke> "Wouldn't surprise me... he's quite scary..."

<Gabriel> "Well... he is scary... but... Im not afraid of him anymore.. he's weak"

<Sanosuke> Rude chuckled. "To you maybe... you're the only one I've ever seen beat him."

<Gabriel> "Whatever he has... doesnt work on me..... "

<Sanosuke> "Yeah. I don't know what he has but... it's scary even for me and he's my best friend."

<Gabriel> "He's able to charm people.. somehow... he said himself

<Sanosuke> "Yeah... and get any guy he wants to sleep with him..." Rude looked away and frowned, "Even me..."

<Gabriel> "Oh... he got you...? I feel inferior.. I cant get anyone...'

<Sanosuke> "Reno can get anyone.... I don't know how but when he does it's like you can't think... once we were in a bar and I bet him he couldn't use that trick on the most sexist homophobic guy there... and I lost... I don't know how he can do that..."

<Gabriel> "Must be part of his being a freak..."

<Sanosuke> "Being a freak? Yeah.. I'd call him that... seen what he does after he kills on a misson when it calls for termination of persute."

<Gabriel> 'Im sure I dont wana know"

<Sanosuke> "Yah... he said stuff about how old cultures used to do that... to gain strength... but it sickened me."

<Gabriel> Cloud shakes his head "I hate killing... fighting is okay.. but not killing..."

<Sanosuke> "Good for you... now I need to find a job..."

<Gabriel> "Try the docks... thats where I work.."

<Sanosuke> "Thanks Cloud." Rude walked off.

<Gabriel> Cloud sighs.. and stretches, deciding he might want to take a swim after work or something

<Sanosuke> The water was nice and warm when he did... it was nice and relaxing.

<Gabriel> Cloud floats lazily on his back for a time.... just thinking...

<Sanosuke> No one else was out there... at least thats what he thought till he heard a soft splash.

<Gabriel> Cloud stands up... a bit worried that there may be a shark

<Sanosuke> He felt arms wrap around his legs and pull.

<Gabriel> "What the hell???" Cloud squeaks

<Sanosuke> He was pulled under the water.

<Gabriel> Cloud glubs... and fights against the arms... not panicing yet since he can hold his breath for a bit... but not forever

<Sanosuke> The hands moved up to his chest and held him there as he was dragged along by the swimmer.

<Gabriel> Cloud squirms... not enjoying being toyed with this way, but since he has no leverage in the water, his strength is pretty much useless

<Sanosuke> He was brought up on land in a part of jungle and let go of.

<Gabriel> Cloud coughs a little... then turns to find out who did this to him

<Sanosuke> He saw Reno looking down at him. "I figured you could hold your breath..." He told him.

<Gabriel> "Why... were you trying to drown me?"

<Sanosuke> "No... I was testing..." Reno sat on Cloud's chest.

<Gabriel> "Hey... getoff..."

<Sanosuke> "I can hold my breath a long time... that's how I managed to survive you blowing up the sub I was in..." Reno leaned down to look at him.

<Gabriel> "Lucky... "

<Sanosuke> Reno pressed his lips to Cloud's.

<Gabriel> Cloud tenses at the kiss.... not really comprehending it at first

<Sanosuke> Reno worked on opening Cloud's mouth and kissing him deaper.

<Gabriel> Cloud starts to somewhat feebly push Reno away, but his arms feel like rubber

<Sanosuke> Reno probed his mouth... then Cloud tasted something odd... not a pleasent taste at all... and Reno drew back.

<Gabriel> "uch... " Cloud mutters and spits... making faces "What the hell are you doing?"

<Sanosuke> Reno just watched him for several momments. "I see... he really did make you immune to everything in me."

<Gabriel> "What are you talkin about?"

<Sanosuke> Reno's hand snatched a rabbit as it tried to run past. "Watch..." He spit.. something green-yellow in color... at the Rabbit's face.

<Gabriel> "Uch... you been chewin tobacco...?"

<Sanosuke> "No.." The rabbit suddenly screached... foamed at the mouth, and died...

<Gabriel> "what... the hell.... p.. poison?"

<Sanosuke> "Venom really... very deadly... you're quite immune to it..." Reno ripped open the rabbit and started to eat it.

<Gabriel> "Ugh... do you gotta do that... " Cloud says... and puts his arm over his eyes

<Sanosuke> "Yeah... eat it while it's still warm... I can't eat cooked meat... it screws with my stomach..."

<Gabriel> "So .. youre some sort of.. snake.... I'd guess?"

<Sanosuke> Reno chuckled. "Hojo's creation... the perfect Turk as he called it... an assassin... yes, snake would be a good word."

<Gabriel> "would you please get offa me now?" cloud complains... wishing he could get the proper leverage to move reno for himsefl

<Sanosuke> Reno got off him. "You're afraid?"

<Gabriel> "No... not afraid.. why should I be.. you cant hurt me..."

<Sanosuke> "You have a point... I can't... perhaps he made you as a safety messure after I got loose and ran away."

<Gabriel> "Oh.... but ... it wasnt like I would have protected the bastard from you or anything..."

<Sanosuke> "Hojo madethings but he couldn't make em obey..."

<Gabriel> "Poor him.. least I killed him...

<Sanosuke> "Yep... killed the bastard that made us both."

<Gabriel> "So... is this what you drug me out here for... to see if you could kill me/"

<Sanosuke> "I didn't think I could... I figured he made you immune."

<Gabriel> "And what if you had been able to kill me?"

<Sanosuke> "I would have eaten."
