Rufus Shinra looks back at his drink.. then goes and gets it as he walks back to Cloud

Cloud Strife puts his hands over his eyes

Cloud Strife says, "Im not crying...."

Rufus Shinra drinks down the last of his vodka

Rufus Shinra says, "Please... you seem to need to get this off your chest. I see pain in your eyes"

Cloud Strife shakes his head.. beginning to cry harder

Rufus Shinra sighs and sets Cloud's helmet aside... and places a gentle hand on the boy's shoulder

Cloud Strife puts his head in his hands

Rufus Shinra goes to the kitchen and pours out some more vodka... and a glass for Cloud. brings it back

Cloud Strife takes the glass and looks at it

Rufus Shinra drinks down his glass... looking a little pale

Cloud Strife plays with the vodka.. really not interested in anything at the moment

Rufus Shinra says, "how many weeks now?"

Rufus Shinra finds his way to his couch and sits down

Rufus Shinra says, "you can sit down... you don't need to stand"

Cloud Strife sits down on the floor where he is standing

Rufus Shinra pulls his knees to his chest

Rufus Shinra puts it in his mouth then gets out another glass off vodka... using it to wash the pill down. sprawls out on his couch. looks over at Cloud... finishing the vodka

Cloud Strife sniffles

Rufus Shinra says, "you can stay here if you want?"

Cloud Strife says, "..... really?"

Rufus Shinra says, "yes. if you have trouble sleeping... I can give you something"

Rufus Shinra digs in his pocket and takes out another green pill. holds it out to him

Cloud Strife takes it

Cloud Strife says, "what is it?"

Rufus Shinra says, "it's a drug that can help you sleep"

Cloud Strife says, "can I have a couple?"

Rufus Shinra settles down again, curling up and drifting to sleep

Cloud Strife prods at Rufus the next morning

Rufus Shinra hands him the half empty bottle of scotch

Cloud Strife takes the bottle and shoves it in his mouth

Cloud Strife looks at Rufus... his eyes pleading

Rufus Shinra leans back into the couch

Cloud Strife closes his eyes.. . feeling pleasantly warm from the alcohol's affects

Cloud Strife says, "Im woozy... "

Cloud Strife cracks his neck and relaxes

Rufus Shinra brushes his hand against Cloud's arm by accident

Cloud Strife is almost totally out of it

Rufus Shinra places his hand gently on Cloud's arm

Cloud Strife smiles vaguely

Rufus Shinra smiles when he sees Cloud smiles. whispers softly

Rufus Shinra nods. caresses the back of his hand softly

sephiroth does CPR on Cloud... deciding he wants to keep him rather then kill him

Cloud Strife instinctively snuggles into Rufus' arms..... perceiving them to be warm and safe

Rufus Shinra closes his eyes... feeling how much he needs to be held as well... but feels he must hold Cloud first

Cloud Strife sobs his heart out... soaking the front of Rufus' suit

Rufus Shinra does not mind.... has not cried since he was 5.... and wonders if he can at all

Rufus Shinra says, "It will be alright from now on Cloud... for both of us"

Cloud Strife puts his arms around Rufus and sniffles

Rufus Shinra smiles... feeling Cloud's arms around him... feeling better just from that

Rufus Shinra says, "Maybe we will be able to sleep at night..."

Cloud Strife says, "Maybe...."

Rufus Shinra holds Cloud in a protective and caring embrace

Rufus Shinra says, "That is all I could really want"

Cloud Strife says, "serious?"

Rufus Shinra says, "to be able to sleep with out needing to drug myself... to have that peace"

Cloud Strife says, "Oh... Im falling asleep as we speak"

Rufus Shinra smiles

Rufus Shinra says, "then sleep. I'll keep you safe"

Cloud Strife makes himself comfortable and drifts to sleep... safe at last
