: When she turned 25, she was finnaly knighted. It had been ten years.. almost eleven. And she heard that Anakin Skywalker was on Coruscant again... being threatened by unknown assassins. --- But he was not worried about them... he knew where they were coming from.. but, if he was to be JEdi bait, let it happen. He was a student of the Dark lord, but not his apprentice.. not yet at any rate. Dooku was still in the way.. but he was needed. This plot could not go off without it [23:50]

: She was debating whether to to go see him, she knew he was being threatened but as of yet could do nothing about it. So she decided to seek out Obi-Wan to ask his advice on whether she should go see him, wondering if he even remembered her after all this time. [23:51]

: However, the choice to go see him or not was taken out of her hands. She and Obi-Wan, whom she was still assigned with, were being sent to 'protect' the senator. ---- Obi-Wan stood in the elevator as they headed up to the Naboo appartments, his hands tucked in his robes. [23:52]

: " I am nervous" she addmitted. After he had confided in her about Qui-Gon she'd always felt at ease about being honest with him. Telling him how she was feeling and to ask his advice on things. They generaly had an unspoke agreement to keep certain things just between thm. [23:54]

: "Be warey of your feelings my friend. He is a senator after all. And I'm sure he's grown a lot since we last knew him." He gave a soft smile to Padme.. and used that as a gentle warning. He had Qui-Gon had only.. allowed eachother to know.. because the master had been about to die... a relationship would have been impossible for them inside the order. [23:56]

: She nods and moves over and bumps her shoulder against him softly and grows quiet. What would it be like now. Her hand moved absently to her shirt and she pressed the pendent against her body. Feeling its presence against her skin calmed her and reminded that no matter what she always had her memories. [23:57]

: When they got to the top they were met by an extatic Jar-Jar who quickly lead them into the living room. Just standing up was a good-looking young man with golden curly hair and a familiur grin. He was dressed differently though, in a black tunic, pants, and boots. "Padme! Obi-Wan! I'm so happy to see you!" [00:01]

: Padme looked at him oddly, strange attire for a senator but she said nothing about it. She offers a smile and nods her head " It is nice to see you as well Senator" she had not seen him in so long she felt she must call him by his tittle, and not be overly familer with him. [00:02]

: Anakin gave Padme a strange look for a momment before turning towards Obi-Wan. "Jedi Master... I hear you two have been assigned for my protection." He managed a soft laugh, "I really don't feel that is nessisary. But, I suppose, with you two here perhaps the assassin can be found." [00:04]

: She was curious about the look but said nothing she hung back now. Getting the feeling that perhaps she was not truely welcome here. Obi-Wan nodded " Yes we are.. your protection is important and we hope to find the assassin" he had no idea of course that it wasn't needed bc Anakin could easily defend himself. [00:06]

: And more to the point.. the assassin was on him for false reasons. Those who had sent the assassin this way had done so really to draw the Jedi into a trap.. to use them.. to manipulate them into starting a war. - Anakin put forth his hand to indicate they should sit. [00:08]

: Padme follows Obi-Wan and sits down a long side of him. She was worried he looked so different now. True part of it was that he had grown but there was something else, something that scared her. Obi-Wan spoke up " How are things in the senate?" He offered in a lame attempt to be polite. [00:10]

: "Troublesom. There are those that would work to defeat the military creation act. I belive it is a good thing with the threat of attack from the sepertists. I think that's why I'm being targetted.. for my pushing of the bill." He sighed a bit, sitting down as well and flicking his eyes briefly towards Padme. Did she even remember him? [00:12]

: Obi-Wan nods, and moves , droping something. Padme bends downto retrieve it and the pendent falls free from her shirt. She sits up not realizing that it was visable now, a clear indication that she had not forgotten him. " People should be able to defend themselves, and be protected" she offered glancing at Obi-Wan before looking down at the floor [00:12]

: Anakin's eyes caught it.. and he managed a smile. "Yes. That's the job of the Jedi, is it not? You protect the galaxy." [00:13]

: She nods and reaches up and finds it out of her shirt, and instead of putting it back she just lets her fingers play over it. " Yes we do, or at least we try with all we have" [00:14]

: "I heard you have just become a Knight. Congradulations. I'm sure Obi-Wan has been an excelent teacher for you." [00:15]

: She perks up some and nods " I would not have been able to do it except for him. He has been wonderful" she smiles and Obi-Wan laughs some " You could have you are a good student Padme" [00:15]

: Anakin chuckled a bit, rubbing his hands together. "My attendents are working to make dinner. I hope you two can accept being guests at my table." [00:16]

: She looks at Obi-Wan with pleading eyes, he looks to Anakin " Padme can. I have some things to attend to " he stands and bows his head " I will return" [00:18]

: Anakin nodded. "Please, hurry back Master Kenobi. I would be most interested in hearing of your adventures." He grinned though as he looked at Padme. "I am happy to see you especially." [00:19]

: He nods and is gone, leaving the two alone for now " .. I am happy to see you too.I .. " she stopped and shook her head as if psuhing the emotion away " You have changed a lot since I saw you last" [00:20]

: "Well, I'm a lot older." He laughed. His voice was still rather soft and feminin, but not as much as it had been when he was a small boy. [00:22]

: " As am I " she said quietly. Realizing the difference in their ages was nto nearly as... noticeable now as it had been then. " You don't look like a senator " she remarked as she reched up and pushed some hair from her face. [00:23]

: He chuckled softly. "And what do I look like?" He smiled, incling his chin a bit. He didn't mind that she was treating him like a small boy still [00:25]

: " I don't know.. " she said " I just thought you'd be.. more.. " she shrugs " Stately" she laughed at herself " I am sorry I am treating you like a child. I am sure you are perfectly fine" [00:27]

: He shook his head. "Quiet alright. I've been grown up since I can remember.. so I'm not treated like a child often enough. Not that I am a child any more.. I just turned twenty." He folded his hands into his lap and locked his eyes with her. "You are still beautiful... your hair, it's so lovely." [00:31]

: She was a bit surprsied by his words, but accepted them and nodded. She looks back into his eyes and that is where she found familiarity. He was still that little boy in some ways. Which made her happy and she smiled despite herself. " .. Thank you " she said softly. Her hair, normally tied back behind her head was loose around her shoulders [00:33]

: "I've thought about you so much Padme. Whenever I could spare thoughts from my duties you were there. I don't know how to describe it." He sighed softly, leaning his head back against his chair. [00:34]

: She nods, and her hand goes back to the pendent again. A habit she had grown to have when she was either alone or just with Obi-Wan who over looked it. " I know what you mean.. I.. always thought about you. Wondering how you were, what you were doing. " [00:35]

: "Mostly just dealing with politics. Trying to do what is right for the people. I feel blessed.. the people of Naboo loved me there. And the Queen asked me to serve in the senate after my term was up in that position. I couldn't refuse. I do a lot of good." [00:37]

: She nods " You seem to have found your calling. You do good things, and I think you will continue to do good things for Naboo and for the galaxy. May I ask.. there was a rumor that they wanted you to stay on.. as queen.. " she had heard bits and pieces about him over the years but nothing definite. [00:39]

: Anakin blushed a bit, a laugh escaping his lips. "Ya but.. I knew my place was elsewhere... in the senate as it turned out. I think I serve my people now better here then I had even as their leader." [00:40]

: " I doubt that could be true" she said " I think you would serve them well no matter where you were. You are a good leader.. and a good person. " [00:41]

: "I'm not as much of a leader as I am someone who listens and tries to get things done." He smiled brightly at her. "I'm glad you think so." [00:43]

: "Isn't that what a leader should be? Listening to the people doing everything they can for them?" she asked reaching up she pushed a strand of her dark brown hair out of her face. [00:44]

: "Yes, exactly.. but most people associate leader with someone who does what they want and forces others to follow them dispite the common good." [00:45]

: She shrugs a little bit " I guess I am different" she said though she was a bit confused. Perhaps it was beig brought up along side the Jedi that had lead her to her ideas. She had never had much contact with any political figures beyond Anakin and the Chancellor. [00:47]

: "Why? What do you think?" He sat up straight, rubbing his chin with one hand. [00:48]

: " I meant from other people. A leaders first concern should be their people. They should listen to the wants and worries of those they serve. They have to earn and keep the peoples trust. If the do not have it than they are failing as a leader" [00:49]

: Anakin nodded. "That is so true." He smiled, letting his hand drop to his side again. "Enough of this.. tell me what you've been up to." [00:50]

: She shrugs " Studying with Obi-Wan mostly. Training, trying to become... what I should be. " she had always felt she lacked as a Jedi because of her inability to completely forget her emotions. [00:51]

: "What you should be? I thought you WERE a Jedi." he grinned but there was something behind it... could it be.. she had leanings towards the dark side? Part of him dared to hope this.. [00:53]

: " Yes.. I am.. " she stood up suddenly and begain to pace ".. I am not sure.. I should be though. I am constantly being reminded to be weary of my feelings. As if I should be afraid of them" [00:54]

: "Should you be afraid of them? Shouldn't you follow your heart?" Anakin stood up as well, folding his arms over his chest. [01:00]

: "I don't think so... Qui-Gon told me something once.. something he also told Obi-Wan not long before he died "" ... My heart is with the force. so.. I believe to follow my heart is to follow the force" So.. perhaps it is all one in the same " she brushed hair from her face again [01:02]

: "then follow your heart. Don't be afraid of your feelings.. embrace them.. they will make you stronger I'm sure." Of course the Jedi said just the oppisit, to be warey of feelings.. as embracing them too much can lead to the dark side. [01:03]

: She shrugs some " Its conflicting. The Jedi say.. that embracing them is the path to the darkside" she had heard that repeated over and over since she was young [01:03]

: He licked his lips, trying to decide how best to say what came next. "And the Jedi fear the dark side.. correct?" [01:05]

: She nods " Yes " she said looking at him confused. What did it matter to him, a senator? [01:05]

: "Can I ask why?" He dropped his arms to the side and turned a bit from her, looking towards the window. [01:08]

: She fiddles with the sleeves of her robe " It is.. evil. The darkside is for those who only serve themselves. They think of no one else" she was saying the words with no conviction behind them. [01:09]

: His lips twitched and he turned fully to disguse his frown. Yes, he had heard of the narrow minded views of the Jedi before.. but to hear it from her was disturbing. "I see... well.. that explains things." [01:10]

: " I don't know though" she said suddenly " It .. all seems to simple. " she moves to the window " I can't see that things are that.. black and white. " [01:11]

: "The Jedi deal in absolutes do they?" He asked, glancing at his own reflection in the window. [01:12]

: "In a way. ... more.. " she pauses " That they are going about it the right way.. and the darkside is not it. There.. has to be a middle. Emotions can't be.. evil can they?" she asked turning to him suddenly for guidence [01:13]

: "No... I don't think emotions are evil. how can love and compassion be evil? Those are emotions, are they not?" [01:14]

: She nods " Things that the Jedi do not condone. What is odd though " She said her mind suddenly whirling with thoughts and things she had not dared to consider before " Fear.. leads tot he darkside.. yet that is exactly what they fear... they are sending themselves on a path of distruction" [01:15]

: Anakin nodded slowly. "I think that might be the case.. but I worried about saying anything... I know you are a Knight.. and I know you could not be.... well.. on a bad path." [01:16]

: "You may not think so. I know Obi-Wan worries. He is constantly noting my emotions. Telling me to watch out " her hand went to the pendent again. " Something will not leave my mind. No matter how hard I try" [01:17]

: Anakin rested his eyes apon the pendant, causing himself to smile a bit more. "Tell me. What does not leave your mind?" [01:18]

: She looks at him, he can see her cheek turning red as she thought about what to say " You" she said. It was the simpliest answer she could come up with. [01:19]

: "I'm sorry if I'm interfeering with your duties but.. I am glad you think of me." He reached out to touch the pendant lightly. "And glad you could hide that." [01:20]

: She smiles absently taking a step closer " It is not your fault.. and Obi-Wan helped. I couldn't have if he had not promised not to say a word to ayone about me having it" [01:20]

: "He is a good master. Did he teach you to be warey of the dark side?" [01:22]

: She nods, again though she had little conviction behind it. She had listened to all the lessons but something always seemed wrong " Yes he did" [01:23]

: "Then I take it he belives the dark side to be evil and lacking the ability to care for others?" [01:24]

: "He has never said it in so many words.. but I believe so. " [01:26]

: "I feel it is important to learn so many things.. even about the history of the Jedi." [01:27]

: " I want to" she said her eyes moving to look out of the window " I think there are things he is keeping from me " [01:28]

: "Why's that?" Anakin moved around behind her, studying the lovely Jedi's back. [01:29]

: " He seems to keep quiet about something. Changing the subject when I asked question or saying it was to do with th darkside and shouldn't be messed with" [01:29]

: "Perhaps he felt the pull of it once and is trying to avoid it now?" [01:30]

: she shrugs " I know why he fears emotions though" [01:31]

: "Oh?" Anakin reached out and teased her hair gently. [01:35]

: She didn't notice yet her hair being so long " Yes.. he felt deeply for Qui-Gon, more so than the Order would allow. He pushed everything away after Qui-Gon died. I believe he was afraid of what he had felt" [01:36]

: "Then he feels fear... and that might... change him." Anakin continued to tease her hair.. running his fingers through the curls. [01:37]

: She noticed it now, but didn't say anything, though she absently steped back into the touch. " I don't know if he does anymore or not in the same way. It was 10 years ago" [01:38]

: "Perhaps he is just trying to help you then. Let you learn from his experience." [01:40]

: "I don't want to shut myself off from my feelings" She said louder then intended " There has to be a.. .. medium. Were you can be a jedi.. yet still love. " She sighs and closes her eyes. She wanted that to be true, but doubted it would ever be. [01:41]

: "Perhaps... you should consider... a new line of work? I mean.. you are a great JEdi, are you not? But perhaps the Jedi is not right for you?" He started to braid her hair gently [01:41]

: She was curious what he was doing, but it didn't matter. He was showing her attention, affection even it was more than she could ask for. " What do you mean.. a new line of work? I have trained as a Jedi my entire life. What else could I do? " [01:43]

: "I don't know... just thinking really. I mean... the order will not allow you to be with the people you care for.. or even go where you want." [01:44]

: "Who do I have to be with?" she asked. She had said she'd thought of him all the time,but being with him didnt appear to be an option so what did it matter. [01:44]

: "That would be up to you." He smiled, finishing some of his braids. [01:45]

: She laughed softly " Not entirely " she turned her head a bit " what are you doing back there?" her voice still hinted with laughter [01:46]

: "Sorry.. just felt like braiding your hair." He chuckled a bit, an impish grin spreading across his lips. [01:46]

: She laughs again " Its okay.. I don't do much with it. I never have time" [01:48]

: "Too busy with training and duty? I know that feeling. I have so much work to do myself." [01:49]

: She turns toward him, and without warning hugs him tightly " wanted to do that since I got in the room " she mumbled into his shoulder [01:49]

: He laughed, pulling his arms around her. "I wanted to do that too.." [01:52]

: She stands there for a moment knowing that since they were both so busy it would be unlikely they would get the chance to talk alone again for a while. " Lets eat.. Obi-Wan will probabl be back soon " she didn't want him to be.. she liked it being just her and Anakin. He seemed to understand her confusion and had listened to her, even offered suggestions. [01:53]

: He let go, smiling a bit. "Yes, let's." He wanted to take her hand but thought better of it as he headed to the dinning room. Hugging her would get enough gossip.. and she more then he didn't need that right now. [01:54]

: She walked with him to the dinning room, she felt the same need to be closer but pushed it aside not wanting to get into trouble. He was a senator he could marry and have a life. She however, was a Jedi. She sits down as just as they were about to eat Obi-Wan returns " Glad to see everyone is still alive" he joked causing Padme to act like a child and stick her tongue out at him. [01:56]

: Anakin looked up at Obi-Wan and smiled a bit. "Master Jedi, please, sit down.. eat!" He looked at his attendents and beckoned them to sit as well. No one would go hungry at his table.. he saw to that. [01:57]

: Everyone sat down, and started to eat. The conversation light and easy. Everyone wanting to let go of the troubles for now. Though Obi-Wan could see the glances and looks that were descretly passed between the senator and the jedi [02:00]

: Once Anakin retired for the night Obi-Wan turned towards Padme. He was sighing, shaking his head a bit. "He is a politician my friend... do be careful." [02:01]

: " I don't know what you mean" she said moving to a window looking out. The braids still in her hair [02:04]

: "Politicians are quiet tricky my young Jedi... and remember.. you have comited to the Jedi order... it would be best if you didn't try and break it because of a.. senator." [02:05]

: ".. Would it be better if it were another Jedi? " she asked with a bit of venom in her voice. [02:07]

: Obi-Wan was a bit taken aback by that. He frowned a bit. "I think I deserved that.. but... Padme.. if the order found out about that I would be expelled." [02:08]

: "Well they wont will they? I have kept it to myself.. and you to yours. " she sighs softly " I don't know what to do Obi-Wan" [02:09]

: Obi-Wan reached out and put a hand on her shoulder. "I know Padme.. but trust in the choices you've already made. You are a Knight... you have promised your service to the order and to the republic..." [02:10]

: She sighs softly " Yes I know" [02:10]

: He smiled. "So be warey of your feelings about a certian young senator." [02:11]

: ".. Why should I fear them? " she asked pushing him slightly. [02:12]

: Obi-Wan dropped his hand, sighing a bit. "I think we have had this talk before. Politicians are not easily trusted... they tend to care more about themselves and lining their pockets." [02:14]

: " I meant my feelings Obi-Wan " She crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back agasinst the window . " And Anakin is not like other politicians. " [02:15]

: "Yes... there is something different about him. Remember, he is strong with the force... but he has not been trained. That is enough to be warry about him." [02:20]

: She sighs softly and closed her eyes " Yes master" [02:21]

: Obi-Wan was not happy about telling her this.. not the reminder thing.. but the way she reacted to him. He didn't want to drive her away by saying such things [02:22]

: She move and sat on a couch, she looked up to Obi-Wan and loved him a lot. She was devoted to him and would listen to him. [02:23]

: Obi-Wan moved with her, sitting down and patting her shoulder. "Just remember the teachings. And trust in the force.. I'm sure it will guide you well." [02:25]

: My heart is with the force. so.. I believe to follow my heart is to follow the force" she said softly. Knowing damn well that Obi-Wan would remember it [02:25]

: Obi-Wan smiled. He accepted her answer. "Just make sure you know what's in your head too." [02:29]

: She sighs softly " I know" she moves and leans on him some [02:30]

: "I want you to know your heart... but some are lead astray by lusts and hates... and they go into darkness thus becoming lost." [02:30]

: " I don't hate anyone.. and.. desire is different than lust" she offered quietly [02:31]

: "True love.. is pure." He added, "Love does not nessisarly mean desire... desire can lead one into greed.. and that can lead one into darknes.s" [02:32]

: " I don't know for sure how I feel " she said softly " I've thought.. about him everyday though" [02:33]

: "When you met him.. he was a boy.. a powerful and wise boy to be sure. He is a man now... grown strong and handsom." [02:34]

: she nods " .. very " she turns and buries her head in his shoulder [02:35]

: Obi-Wan let his hand carress her back. She was like a younger sister for him.. and he wished to take care of her. "Do you feel it is hard to be here?" [02:37]

: He was her friend and protector " .. I don't kow.. its not that simple" [02:38]

: "It never is... but I can help guide you through this dificult time. I do not advocate breaking the codes... and before you mention my own... that was.. one of the few times.. you should break it." [02:42]

: "One of he few? " she asked quietly. [02:44]

: "If someone is about to die... someone you care for... breaking the codes... is acceptible to me." [02:45]

: She nods silently " I knew you knew.. " she said softly " is that.. how you.. dealt with the loss? " [02:46]

: He closed his eyes. "It was hard.. but.. yes... we both knew..." [02:46]

: She nods and nuzzles him softly " Well. I dont think either of us are going to die.. so " she closes her eyes [02:47]

: He patted her shoulder again. "Yes.. but we have a senator to watch over.. to make sure he doesn't die." [02:48]

: " Yes I know" she said softly not moving needing the comfort for now [02:49]

: He had intended to convince her to get up with his words but it didn't work. Instead, he sighed. "Come on.. have to check on him." [02:50]

: She nods a bit "alright" she gets up. Feeling foolish now but letting it go [02:51]

: But he gave her a big smile and moved towards the door. "Tell me my friend.. can you feel everything in that room?" [02:52]

: she looks at him a little confused " How do you mean? " [02:53]

: "Your feelings my young Jedi... the most basic of all lessons." He chuckled a bit at her. [02:54]

: She takes a deep breath " Sorry a little distracted master" [02:54]

: "That is alright... just focus now." [02:54]

: she nods and closing her eyes and focuses [02:57]

: Outside the senator's room a droid had pulled up... one with a deadly payload. Anakin was pretending to be asleep.. but he knew it was there. This was the trap for the Jedi.. to convince them of the danger. Even the assassins didn't know... he was in no real danger... so it didn't alarm him when Obi-Wan came charging in for the REscue... killing the creatures sent after him... and jumping after the probe droid.. it was all according to plan. [02:58]

: Padme had gone in after him but it seemed wrong somehow, she didn't know what was wrong exactly but she knew it was. She looked at Anakin and asked " .. are you okay? " though she didn't seem overly concerned [02:59]

: Anakin sat up, blinking a bit and nodding at her. "Yea... I'm fine.. what happend?" He looked at the window that had been broken, "Um.. shouldn't someone be helping him?" [03:00]

: ".. Yeah " she said going out to help Obi-Wan wanting to make sure he was alright before she did. It seemed odd to her that it had been seemingly so easy to defend the threat. Though she pushed the thought away ad went after Obi-Wan [03:02]

: After the Jedi were gone.. galavanting about Coruscant to catch the assassin, Anakin had busness of his own to attend to. Leaving his quarters he managed to dissmiss his guards as he headed to see the chancellor. Once there he bowed a bit. "Master..." He stated, calling him such even though he was not his apprentice yet.. only in spirit, "The Jedi have taken the bait. They are after the assassins sent by the sepertists." [03:04]

: Palpatine nodded and smile " good good..I am glad everything is going to plan. Do you think either of the suspects anything?" he had a strange feelig about Padme but wsn't sure [03:05]

: "I do not belive so my lord." He straighted up and smiled a bit, "One of them seems possible to bring over to the dark side.. but I do not know about the Master... perhaps count Dooku can persude him.. having been his master's master." [03:06]

: Palpatine nods " to the dark side" he says perking up a bit "I assume you mean the young Padme. " [03:07]

: "Yes. I do belive she might be persuded to join us. She is blinded by Jedi dogma but.. I sensed a bit of confusion in her.. as if maybe she doubted her own words on the matter." [03:07]

: He nods " Your desire to bring her over is more thento add to our ranks" [03:09]

: He looked down for a momment. "I do have feelings for her my lord... I would enjoy being able to spend more time with her." THen he looked up, "but.. rest assure.. if I'm found out.. I will do what must be done with them.. no mercy." [03:10]

: Palpatine nods " I hope it does not come to that. " He knew that it would do well for Padme not to have to die. [03:12]

: he smiled a bit. "I hope as well. I'm sure they will track that Assassin down... and be lead all the way to Genosis soon. Then, the Jedi will go... and take command of your new army." He purred softly, "The new era my lord... how I cannot wait for it." [03:13]

: He nods yet again " yes.. everything is working so perfectly. Keep an eye on the girl though. " he said " She seems to be quick, and if try to push her toward the darkside. Make her think about what the Jedi ay, and ask of her. " [03:15]

: "I will my lord..." He bowed his head to him, hoping for the day that Dooku could be disposed of and he could take his place at Palpatine's side. but for now, he was willing to be an agent of the dark lord.. the one in the senate helping to push through acts that would ultimatly lead to more power for Palpatine. [03:21]

: Palpatine waited for the day himself. It just was not productive yet. Dooku was still usefull to him.. He also had uses for Anakin now even though he ws not yet his apprentice. [03:23]

: Anakin had been trained in some of the sith arts.. battle training.. and some other forms of force training.. but not the full emersian in the dark side that was requred for a true apprentice. Besides, he was good in the senate.. and Dooku was needed elsewhere with the seperatists. - "then I will return now to my appartment, my lord, before the Jedi return." [03:24]

: He nods, and motions for him to go. Padme had gone to help Obi-Wan though she was still unsure about what had happened exactly [03:26]

: After racing about this part of the planet city they had caught up to the assassin in the lowers... but she was killed before giving them anything.. shot by a toxic dart... and they had nothing but that to return with [03:26]

: "Something is odd about this master" Padme said as they went back with the little infomation they had [03:28]

: "Tell me your concern my young Jedi." Obi-Wan looked back at her as they headed up in the elevator. [03:28]

: ".. I think he knew" she said " Knew it was coming. He didn't.. feel concerned" [03:29]

: Obi-Wan frowned a bit. "What makes you belive that?" [03:29]

: she shrugs " I didnt feel any fear." she shrugs a ltitle "His reaction didn't seem genunine" [03:30]

: "Remember.. he did race pods while ruling Naboo.. I'm not sure he does feel fear.. it is possible he is distant from it." [03:31]

: She shrugs slightly " Its possible" though she didn't believe that. [03:32]

: "Tell me everything on your mind." [03:33]

: She sighs softly " I am not sure he was asking about the Jedi order.. saying.. " she sighs " that perhaps it was not for me. What sticks with me is the.. lack of concern on his face when I came in after you'd gone after the assassin. It seemed wrong" [03:34]

: Obi-Wan tugged on his beard as he listened to her. Yes, something wasn't right about this. "Perhaps we should... arrange a midiclorien test for him.." [03:35]

: She closes her eyes she had made a promise all those years ago, not to say anything " How could we do that? " she asked quietly [03:36]

: "I'll ask the council when I go to tell them about this." He held up the dart. "For now.. I think it best you keep an eye on him.. and be careful.." [03:36]

: She nods " Yes master" she toucked her hands into her robe [03:36]

: Obi-Wan patted her on the shoulder then stepped out into the appartments. [03:37]

: She nods and follows him, she looked around for Anakin [03:38]

: Anakin was sitting on the couch, sipping tea as two attendents sat on either side. [03:38]

: She nods to him and sits down her self. [03:39]

: Obi-Wan slipped out as Anakin turned towards Padme. "Catch the killer?" [03:40]

: She nods " Found her yes.. she was killed by a posion dart.. " she said " so We don't know who sent her yet" [03:41]

: Anakin nodded, rubbing his chin. "This does not bode well." He dissmissed his attendants and got up from the couch. [03:42]

: " No it does not" she said leaning back though her eyes locked on him [03:43]

: He came to sit next to her, turning to look into her eyes as well. "Is something wrong?" [03:43]

: She tries to decide if she is going to ask then shakes her head " no no" [03:44]

: He smiles, resting a hand on her shoulder. "Good. I was worried about you and Master Kenobi." [03:44]

: She looks at him " why? " [03:44]

: "Why not?" [04:10]

: she nods " I see" [04:10]

: He couldn't help but chuckle at that. He smiled, trying to put her at ease. "So, it's hard for you to belive I can become concerned about my.. protectors?" [04:15]

: She shrugs " I guess its possible" [04:15]

: "Is there something on your mind Padme?" [04:20]

: "nothing important" she said softly [04:21]

: "You can tell me." He stood up, sensing she was suspicious of him. He wanted to put her at ease. [04:26]

: "Why weren't you afraid?" [04:26]

: "About being attacked? I'm a thrill-seaker. It's a bit.. thrilling.. to be in danger." [04:27]

: She nods a bit " .. almost seemed as if you knew it was coming : [04:29]

: "You and master Kenobi were there... and after what happend to my ship the other day.. I knew the assassin would be trying again. Wasn't about to be put offguard." [04:31]

: She ndos " I see " she still wasn't convinced but didn't want to get into [04:32]

: "I need to get some rest... but I think... you should as well. If the assassin is dead then I have no need to worry, right?" [04:33]

: "The assassin is dead but we don't know if there will be others. Rest. I will be fine" [04:33]

: He smiled then and lay down apon the couch. "Good night then." He closed his eyes. [04:35]

: She sits there watching over him as he sleeps. [04:36]

: He seemed so peaceful in his sleep.. almost like the small boy she knew on Naboo [04:40]

: She does her best to stay away the entire night but fails and does eventually doze off [04:41]

: When she eventually woke, he was at her side, watching her with a gentle smile on his face. [04:42]

: She looks up and blinks a few times " oh.. I fell asleep" [04:43]

: "Yea.. for a while... I was watching you." He smiled, reaching out to stroke her hair for a momment. [04:44]

: "Oh.. are you alright? " she was worried now that she had fallen asleep [04:44]

: "I'm fine. Breakfast is on the table if you want to come and eat." [04:46]

: She nods " Is obi-Wan here? " she asked quietly [04:48]

: He shook his head. "No.. he hasn't come back yet. Probably busy at the Jedi Temple or something of the sort." [04:50]

: she nods and gets up " don't tell him okay? " she asked quietly [04:51]

: "Tell him what?" Anakin started on his way to the dinning room. [04:52]

: "That I fell asleep like that. I was supposed to stay up.To watch you " [04:53]

: He chuckled. "I won't tell him anything." He smiled, sitting down at the table. - Obi-Wan contacted her not that long after to say he was following up a lead on the toxic dart and that She was to take Anakin back to Naboo for now where he'd be more safe. [05:02]

: She nods and goes to Anakin and tells him she needs to take him back to naboo. [05:03]

: He frowned slightly, then sighed. "If I must... I guess Jar-Jar can take my place in the senate for a while.. but I worry about the bill being defeated without me being here. There is a faction in the senate that would stop at nothing to keep this bill from passing." [05:11]

: "Obi-Wan thinks it would be safer for you I am sure Jar-Jar can handle it. Everyone knows that you suppor the bill " she said softly [05:13]

: "Yes. I'm sure he can." Anakin sighed softly. "Oh well.. back to Naboo we shall go... back to the palace to consult the queen." [05:18]

: She nods " As soon as you are ready to go " she said wanting to get him safety as quickly as possible. [05:18]

: After breakfast, he was ready.. and packed... with robes covering him so he wouldn't be recognized. "I am ready." He told Padme [05:20]

: She nods and pulls the hood of her cloak up, and walks wih him out of the apartments and to the small ship that would take them safely and secretly to naboo. [05:22]

: Once on board with Anakin's droid, Artoo, He settled down in a corner with her. "Looks like we're going to be spending time together." [05:24]

: She nods leaning back " It does look that way. Just the two of us for the most part. I was told to keep an eye on you " she said with a bit of a grin [05:25]

: He chuckled softly. "An eye on me? Trying to keep me safe or do you have another reason for that?" [05:27]

: She laughed a bit " Whatever works for you" she said softly. Though in through she was grateful for the chance to spend time with him. Perhaps it would give her the chance to sort out what she was feeling and what she should do. [05:28]

: "I like being kept an eye on.. especially by you." He beamed. "You can watch me any time you like." [05:28]

: that caused her to break out into laughter. "My .. Senator. if I didn't know better I'd say you were hitting on me" she smirked knowing very well thats what he was doing [05:29]

: He grinned, looking down. He might be a senator.. might possess force gifts.. but he was a twenty year old man. He had his wants... and a shyness... as he stole glances at her. [05:32]

: She leaned over and bumped her shoulder into his and chuckled softly. Padme wasn't supposed to be feeling this way, but she couldn't help it. She'd watched the relationship betwen Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon.. blossom, yet die.. but it hadn't seemed to pull Obi-Wan to the darkside so she felt like she shouldnt' be as afraid. [05:34]

: But what she didn't know is it nearly had.. Obi-Wan had nearly fallen into darkness when Qui-Gon was killed... but only kept himself from it by his own near death. - Anakin chuckled softly and held her eyes for a momment. He wanted to kiss her but decided it would be best for them to be alone for that.. not surrounded by refugees. [05:37]

: She had decided she was going to follow her heart, but keep the force fresh in her mind. If she kept her mind clear enough she would always be safe. She didn't want to give into the darkness, though part of her wondered if that was because she did not understand it entirely. When they arrive on Naboo she stays nearby him, just incase. [05:38]

: After consulting with the Queen it was decided that Anakin would best go out to the rather isolated lake not far from the city. It was safe, private, and a very comfortable place to spend a vaction. So after a short speeder ride, the two of them arrived there. [05:39]

: She was a bit surprised that it was going actually be just the two of them. When she arrived she looked around " wow... its beautiful" [05:40]

: "It belongs to the palace. Used to come up here some times.. get away from it all when I needed to think." He smiled, showing her out to the balcony. [05:46]

: She takes her robe off and leaves it inside as they walk out onto the balcony "Its lovely " she said softly leaning on the railing [05:47]

: Anakin removed his own, smiling a bit. "I have fond memories." [21:34]

: She nods, crossing her arms over her chest " I am sure.. seems the place for them" [21:35]

: "It's better then visiting Tatooine. I managed to return after I joined the senate. My mom's doing well. She was freed years ago and got married." He sighed softly [21:36]

: She reached out and put a hand on his shoulder " is something wrong? " she said softly in response to his sigh. [21:37]

: He turned and smiled. "no.. nothing is. My mom is happy... I kinda wished to bring her to Naboo but.. she's married... and lives on a moisture farm with her husband and.." He paused, "Step son." [21:38]

: A stepson. There was something int he way he said it that made her feel strange " I am sure she is happy there.. and very proud of you " [21:39]

: "Yes. They were all amazed at what I've done for Naboo... and so very proud of me." He sighed softly, closing his eyes. "I'm just glad she's so happy. It's all I really wanted for her." [21:41]

: She nods and her hand moves down and rubs his back very softly. " That is noble of you.. " [21:42]

: "I'm just interested in others. That's why I'm in the senate." He smiled, turning towards her. [21:42]

: She nods again " you are doing good work " When he turned her hand ended up on his chest [21:43]

: He looked down at the hand, smiling a bit. "thank you." [21:44]

: She quickly pulled her hand away feeling embaressed " You are welcome. You should be proud of yourself too.What you've done.. " [21:44]

: "I'm happy to be serving a greater cause." He reached a hand up to her face. "Do you think like that to? That you serve for the greater good?" [21:46]

: She looks into his eyes and nods " Yes. I feel that.. serving the force, is serving the galaxy. The greater good.. what is right in the universe" she didnt' say the Jedi though. [21:46]

: "Have you ever heard of the prophecy of the chosen one?" He asked, probbing her gently. [21:47]

: She looks at him " Obi-Wan has mentioned it in passing once or twice" [21:48]

: "What does he say of it?" [21:48]

: "That there would be someone born, stronger in the force than in anyone else has ever been. Who would bring balance." [21:49]

: "I have heard of it too. I find interest in learning about Jedi affairs. They fasinate me." He inclines his chin, "Tell me what the Jedi think of the prophecy." [21:50]

: She shrugs " Some believe it is just a story.. others thing that the person will come. They will bring balance. Rumors have started that they will do it by destroying the Sith.. " she shrugs a bit [21:51]

: "Ah... again.. the Jedi belive things about the Sith. They belive the Sith make for unbalance then?" [21:52]

: she nods " yes.. along with the darkside.. " [21:53]

: "Can I ask you what you belive?" [21:55]

: she takes a deep breath " light can not exist without dark and, and dark can not exist without light. The.. balance would come. from someone who can truelly have both" [21:56]

: "I would imagine... if I might be so bold.. that perhaps the Jedi order, being only filled with light and so many... are pushing the force out of balance. I know that might be taken as blasphmey by your order but.. with the Sith as only two as I understand it and dark Jedi killed on sight from what I know..." He shook his head. [22:01]

: She listens and doesn't know how to react to that, she had been brought up with the lessons that the darkside where evil was born. " that.. may be true. But.. the... sith killed Qui-Gon" she said softly her voice breaking [22:01]

: He nodded. "Qui-Gon was a good man. I wish that had not happend. The Sith were behind the blockade of Naboo." [22:02]

: She nods " There must be a different way.. it can't just be the two" [22:02]

: "What do you mean?" He looked back at her, holding her eyes. [22:03]

: "More than just the two options... one "good" and one "bad" .. its that.. middle I keep talking about. Something that is between the two" [22:04]

: "Do all Jedi see things as absolutes? Who is to say all sith are bad and all jedi are good?" [22:05]

: She shrugs " I don't know when it started" she said softly " I mean... I've heard it as long as I can remember.. and all the masters swear to it" [22:05]

: "Because they cling to ideals. They do not trust enough in people. They see everything at face value and know nothing of hearts." [22:06]

: She nods though she knew at least Obi-Wan was a little different " it is hard to feel like I don't belong where I have.. been raised for so long" [22:14]

: "I say.. don't be blinded by dogma." [22:16]

: she shrugs " Is there a way to be part of either.. group and not be" [22:16]

: "You let a group define you?" He asked. "Do you think I let being a senator define who I am?" [22:17]

: ".. what am I if not a jedi? " [22:17]

: "You are a person.. with a heart and mind of her own." [22:18]

: which is bound to get me into trouble eventually [22:19]

: "Does it matter? you choose what you do.. decide what is best for you... or if you spend your time serving others.. decide what is best for them. If you find your heart to be a distraction to that calling then ignore it. If you value your heart more then your calling then go with that instead. It's all up to you." [22:27]

: She sighs softly and leans back on the stone railing along the balcony. " I wish it was so easy" [22:29]

: "Life never is easy. But I belive in my heart.. that even if mom had never managed to get me off of Tatooine.. I'd still be the same person. Maybe not a senator, but I'd have the same values because I do not let my station define me.." [22:34]

: "I've been tought to define myself by being a jedi" [22:35]

: "Ever thought of what might have happend had your familiy not been killed?" He asked softly. [22:35]

: "Not really. They were so that is what I have to face" [22:36]

: He frowned softly. "That's rather sad to me." [22:36]

: "why is that? " she asked quietly [22:37]

: "Your family... if the galaxy was safer that sort of thing wouldn't happen." [22:38]

: " I try to make the galaxy safer. So another wont face this." [22:39]

: "And you do a good job. I'm just hoping we can do something about it in the senate." [22:40]

: She nods " I know your work will help. You are a strong personality" she said softly [22:41]

: "Tell me honestly.. what you think about the system." [22:41]

: "Which one? " she asked quietly [22:42]

: He chuckled softly. "the republic.. our system of government." [22:44]

: "oh " she said softly " I don't know. It always looks like a lot of talk.... not much action. " she says shrugging ab it [22:45]

: "I try my best in the senate but.. I don't think the system works.. we really need to get everyone to do what's best for everyone.. even if they have to be made to agree." [22:45]

: "How do you... make people agree? " looking at him she crossed her arms across her chest again [22:46]

: "A strong and wise leader would be needed of course." [22:47]

: She nods " One that.. can offer something that everyone can agree on. Making people agree only leads to tyranny. Forcing them is .. taking away freedom. Not giving more" [22:48]

: "Well.. if it works.." He looked away from her, leaning his arms on the stone railing. [22:55]

: "You believe that tyranny should be an option? Taking away peoples freedom? That breeds rebellion" [22:56]

: He looked back at her for a momment, grinning but shaking his head. "I just meant.. if it works.. what's wrong with it?" He was covering for himself of course.. it seemed clear.. she would never be party to the empire to come. [22:57]

: She shrugs " I suppose so.. if its done right. If everyone can stand behind a common leader" she suggested softly [22:58]

: He pushed away from the balcony railing and went to her side. "I just want what's best for the people." He moved to bring his hand to her face slowly [23:00]

: She didn't stop him, in fact she moved closer " .. so do I.. perhaps a single leader is the answer" [23:01]

: He smiled a bit, putting his left hand to her face. "I think it might be." [23:03]

: She smiles and nuzzles into his hand some " . I trust you " she said softly [23:04]

: Anakin smiled. "I'm glad." He leaned forward suddenly and kissed her [23:05]

: She jumped slightly but kissed back [23:07]

: He moved to pull an arm around her so he could kiss her again. This was dangerous ground.. she was a Jedi.. and he.... he was a senator that also happend to be a Sith agent... [20:36]

: She did nothing to stop him, she didn't pull back or try to say no. She wanted him to kiss her again, she wanted to kiss him too. Her arms wrapped around his body now, hands gripping the back of his shirt. She wasnt't hinkong about being a jedi.. or what this could mean she was just enjoying it. [20:37]

: And he wasn't even thinking about corrupting her... he had geniune feelings... ones that would not be contained. Here he was, on Naboo, in a place he loved, kissing the woman he desired... what could be better? "Padme..." He whispered, around her lips as he ran a hand down her back. [20:38]

: She closes her eyes for a moment and then looks up at him, her eyes showing joy, and comfort. She was not afraid, though he training should have lead her to be. " .. yes? " her voice quiet, not sure of what else to say [20:39]

: "I've wanted to do that for so long.." He pulled his hands to her arms, looking deap into her eyes. "I've been in love with you since the day we met. There is just... something about you." He leaned forward to kiss her again. [20:46]

: She looks up at him, and goes to speak but is cut off by yet another kiss which she returns with vigor. Her arms moving around th clutch him again as they share another moment together. Now her mind was full of questions but she woud ignore them for now [20:49]

: He happily held her in his arms, not concerned that she might break off contact at any momment. Sooner or later she was sure to come to her senses.. so he would enjoy her kisses now.. her arms about his body. He wanted her... wanted to be with her always.. but unless she accepted the dark side, they could never truely be together. [20:53]

: Slowly the kisses end, as she leans back to look into his eyes " .. Anakin" she said softly, she wanted to ask him something. She didn't know what exactly. She had no where to start, no base to go from she was lost and yet she was happy to be lost. Being lost now was being in his arms [20:55]

: He leaned back slightly, peering back and tilting his head a little. "Yes Padme?" He asked softly. His arms were now firmly wrapped about her body, looped about her waist. [20:57]

: He sees her struggle with her words, trying to decide what to say to him " Is.. there anything you are.. keeping from me? " she knew he could answer it a million ways. She had a feeling he knew more about the force than he let on.. maybe even the darkside. Which she had come to look at more closely.. questioning her teachings [20:58]

: "What makes you say that?" He asked softly, breaking his hands, resting one on the small of her back and running the other across her spine. "Perhaps we should talk more?" [20:59]

: She takes a deep breath " you.. seem to know.. or have ideas about the darkside.. I want to know where you learned it.. " it wasn't angry. It sounded as though she wanted to know more [21:00]

: "Because I am interested in all things. I enjoyed learning about the force.. and studied about both sides... found it fasinating. I wonder why the Jedi keep only to one side.. which is why I asked you." [21:01]

: She nods a bit, though was unsure of his answer " I see.. I've been.. questioning things" she admitted finally [21:03]

: "Such as?" He smiled, deciding to escort her inside where they could talk more comfortably. The couch next to the fire place was a good start. [21:11]

: She walks with him, her eyes looking around for something to focus on " The.. codes of the Jedi.. the things I have been taught to believe my entire life" she was surprised she was admitting so mcuh [21:12]

: Sitting down he smiled up at her. "There can be no wisdom without asking questions." He grinned at her, running a hand back through his gold curls. [21:13]

: She leans back and crossing one leg gently over the other " I have believed .. everything blindly. withough asking why for so long" [21:15]

: "then why not ask why?" He leaned his head back against the couch, smiling her. Perhaps it would be easy after all... depending on what it was that she belived was wrong... [21:18]

: "I can't ask Obi-Wan.. he'll.. just throw the dogma back at me. "she sighs softly " The Jedi.. are all afraid.. their codes are based on fear." [21:19]

: "Yes... fear clouds them... yet they belive fear is bad because it will lead them into the dark side. So you're safe in trying to talk to me." [21:20]

: She stands up and begins to pace a little bit " Why no emotions? No love? No attatchment? How can.. distant people help the galaxy?" [21:21]

: "I thought that the Jedi were at least compassionate... that would be called unconditional love." [21:22]

: " I don't see how they can be.. and yet keep to their words" [21:22]

: "So you are trying to say you and Obi-Wan are not compassionatE? this I do not belive." [21:23]

: " its hard to explain" she said softly. "We are... but.. there is no.. love.. " [21:26]

: "You mean, no romantic love.. no family love.. nothing that attaches you." [21:28]

: she nods " .. Yes.. " moving to a window she looks out " I don't know if that is right." [21:28]

: "Well, what happens with attachment?" [21:30]

: "..thrown out of its found out. I've been on the verge for a while.I am constantly being warned" [21:30]

: "I mean.. why? Have you asked why they throw people out for such things?" [21:31]

: ".. I have tried. Its the same dogma told over and over and over again" [21:31]

: "So they expect you to follow something without saying why... Tell me, what does that say to you?" (21:32:19)

: "that they are afraid.. and.. know something is missing in their. beliefs. " [21:36]

: "Afraid to loose control over their members? The children they take?" He smiled, but not at her, he wasn't looking at her as he spoke. [21:37]

: ".. To loose everything that they worked for. " she sits down " .. Its control.. " she said suddenly " Thats why there is no answer they don't wnat to admit that it is control.. mind control.So that the only thing you have to turn to.. is the Jedi" [21:39]

: Anakin turned to her, stony faced and nodding slowly. "Quiet sad, is it not? Brainwashing children... but.. they do it to protect the galaxy, don't they?" [21:40]

: "There has to be a better way... why does protecting the galaxy have to mean.. a lack of love.. and desire" [21:41]

: "It shouldn't." He smiled, reaching for her hands. "One should be able to love..." [21:42]

: She takes his hands softly " I .. think so" [21:42]

: Obi-Wan's words came back to her then.. shortly after she'd become his apprentice.. [21:43]

: They were discussing matters of love.. and Qui-Gon.. [21:43]

: She had been asking all kinds of questions or trying too though Obi-Wan was quiet and seemed to be avoiding some questions [21:44]

: eventually, Obi-Wan sighed and took her hands.. the way Anakin was in the present, and looked into her eyes. "Padme.. I need to make something clear to you. What happend between Master Qui-Gon and myself would never have.. happend.. had we not belived he was about to die... because it would have been too dangerous.." [21:45]

: "Why is it dangerous? Why. is it bad to love? " she pushed. She wanted to know, wnated to truely understand [21:47]

: "It's not bad to love Padme... I think that some of the rules are a bit.. extreme.. but it is because too many can't see the truth in order to blanace it." He sighed softly, "Even knowing he was going to die.. I got so angery about it... and... I nearly fell astray." It was a hard thing to admit but he was willing to for the sake of his padawan. [21:48]

: ".. You were afraid " She said " .. you didn't accept what you knew " she was being oddly defiant " Not everyone can't see it" [21:49]

: "Exactly.. fear is very dangerous. Fear leads to anger.. anger leads to hate... and that pushes you into the dark side." He sighed, closing his eyes. "Attachment.. leads to fear... and fear can consume you... destroy you..." [21:50]

: "It doesn't have to... " she looked down at the floor " .. If you can learn to accept that. people die. .. they always do. " [21:51]

: "No Padme.. not just of death.. of anything. And learning to accept death is one of the hardest things. As the teachings say, there is no death, there is only the force..." [21:51]

: "Are not the jedi feeding into this.. they .. fear... " she paused " fear.. " [21:52]

: "What do you mean?" [21:52]

: " They are afraid of the Jedi's .. being afraid. " [21:53]

: "They are concerned of Jedi being afraid. Concerned about the dark side taking their fellow Jedi.": [21:53]

: ".. Concerned is a step away from fear" she said leaning back [21:54]

: "Yes.. but it is not powerful like fear. It does not consume you." [21:54]

: " It is not powerful?! They have built their beleifs on it" [21:55]

: "Padme.. control yourself. You seem to be missunderstanding me." Obi-Wan let go of her hands and sighed softly. "You must learn restraint..." [21:56]

: She scowls" Yes yes.. and be weary of my feelings" [21:57]

: Obi-Wan shook his head as he looked at her. "It is more for your sake then the order's. Even if you were not a Jedi I would wish for you to be careful of them. Even love can drag you into horrible places that can destroy everything you are." [21:58]

: ".. and what am I Obi-Wan? " she asked in a sarcastic tone " Orphaned.. abandoned.. passed around " she sighs heavily " I am sorry. I will be more carefull" [22:00]

: "You are a Jedi Padawan... and it is my duty to guide you towards knighthood. In time, I see you becoming a great one." He offered her a light smile. "But that depends on you... on your choices. Your commitment to the order. You wish to serve the republic? You have been gifted. You are strong with the force... so you should use that... to help the people. Be a guardien of peace and order." [22:02]

: She nods silently and closes her eyes " I want to serve.. I want to help" she said quietly. Forcing the conviction to come back to her voice. She truely wanted to be a knight. [22:04]

: "Then please pay head to my teachings. Trust, that I mean well for you. The life of the Jedi means to surrender the self to serve the republic and it's people. Not an easy life I know, but if no one served, the republic would crumble." [22:05]

: She nods silently " I will do my very best" she offered. Had she always questioned her beliefs? Even when she was young? Did she have any kind of idea when she started on her path that she would meet the one person who could turn her from it? [22:06]

: All this flooded through her mind as Anakin touched her hands in an effort to get close to her again. [22:07]

: She turns suddenly toward him having been lost in thought " hmm? " she asked thinking she missed somethin he said to her

: Anakin tilted his head to the side. "Is something the matter Padme?":

: "Just.. memories.. things Obi-Wan said to me just after I started at his padawan" she said softly moving slowy she sat down next to him.

: "What sort of things?" He pressed gently, dropping his hands back to his sides.

: "A talk about love.. and emotions. " she said softly

: "And what did you master tell you about such things?"

: " That to serve the republic... I have to sacrifice, surrender myself to serve. " she sighs an rubs her forehead " And.. that I should watch my emotions. That they can take me to dark places"

: Anakin didn't smile, but he didn't frown either. He studied her for a momment. "That is quiet true... we all must.. sacrifice... to serve the people's best interest.. or we become to corruption we do not like. The politicians that busy lining their own pockets rather then helping their people... if the Jedi tried to do the same..." He sighed.

: " The jedi help others they do not think of themselves.. " she said.. or tried to. Her voice cracked in the middle and she knew she did not entirely beleive it " I understand. sacrifice..but I do not understand why that means we have to abandon love"

: "Love makes one complete... but it does complicate things." He agreed, closing his eyes a momment.

: "complicate things? Is life not already complicated? So what is one more thing? "she asked quietly

: "The life of a Jedi... it is simple is it not?"

: "It is supposed to be" she said softly " though no life is never simple"

: "What is your complication?"

: She looks at him and offers a half smile and half shrug " well.. "

: "Mmm.. no well.. tell me." He grinned, flashing his teeth at her.

: "... my feelings for you " she said

: "I have feelings for you too. Deep feelings Padme... ones I'm worried of being rejected because of your life."

: She closes her eyes " .. I know I should but.. I don't think I can " she said moving to lean against him gently

: "I wouldn't ask for you to chose between me and the Jedi." He hoped she would chose him... to abandon the Jedi... because he knew one day he would have to kill the JEdi.. and if she was one.. he would have to kill her

: "It is not .. really a choice " she said softly " To.. " she pauses " truely follow and respect the force as I feel.... I cannot turn from my heart"

: "Then what does the force tell you?" He got to his feet, running a hand back through his golden curls once more.

: Following she stands up, and moves to put her hand on his shoulder " ..To be with the one I love" she asked quietly

: he smiled a bit. He wasn't sure why the force would tell her that... the light side anyway... but he accepted her answer. "That would make me happy."

: Maybe it was't the light-side telling her, it just what she felt deep into her soul "It would make me happy as well "

: Dangerous ground.... for her at least. But he had to be careful about this. One wrong move and he would become the weak chain... he would topple the house of cards. "I... love you... Padme."

: She looks at him, and smiles softly reaching up putting her hand on his cheek " I love you too" there she'd said it. Damning herself she was sure of it

: Anakin leaned forward, to kiss her again.. savouring her lips as he slipped his arms around her once more. He wanted to show her how much he loved her... how he had saved himself for her. He could have had anyone... male or female.. they were at his beck and call... but he wanted her.

: She returns the kiss, pressing her lips tightly to his, a passionate deep kiss. She could feel how much love there was between them. She only wanted him, she was going to give up her way of life for him. She knew that now, she had no other choice.

: It wasn't long before she was in his bedroom, his hands on her... pulling gently at her robes and tunic... his intent quiet clear. Well, he was a twenty year old beautiful young man... and despite his 'elegant' clothing he clearly was arroused by her.

: She didn't stop him, in fact she helped him. Working to help remove her robes, and then pulling at his own clothes. Some of what Obi-Wan said rang in her ears. Perhaps neither were due to die but .. this maybe the only chance they had for.. who know how long. Perhaps ever

: This would be their chance... Obi-Wan would understand.. if this was to be their only real time together. - Anakin shed his clothes quickly, having been simply dressed to return home. And soon had her on the bed, exploring her body with touches and soft kisses.

: She returns the touches, and kisses feeling his body out. Soft moans passing her lips every few moments as she grew excited. Being so close to him, the one she loved and desired was with her now. Close to her, closer than anyone she cared for had ever been

: He kissed her... carressed her, lay with her... and asked her softly "Is this really what you want?"

: She puts her hand to his cheek and looked into his eyes, wanting him to see the sincerity in her eyes " yes.. I want it more than anything"

: He smiled, mounting her as he had desired since he began to think about that sort of thing... his hands working on her arms... and on her breasts.

: She moans, and her eyes close as she was over taken by the feeling. Her hands moving to his back, rubbing and carresising his skin. She had never felt the way she did with him. As though she was a sexual being, desired.

: He wasn't fast paced and frantic... he managed to be slow about it... watching her expressions as his breathing became quiet heavy. She was so beautiful.. and she was giving herself to him.

: Not an easy thing both because of her duty to the Jedi, and her life before that. Her eyes opened and she looked at him and moans softly. She found his lips and kissed him deeply, breaking the kiss she whispered against his lips. " .. I love you" (On what channel?)

: "I love you.." He panted, "So much..." his fingers curled around her breasts as he leaned down to kiss her briefly again between thrusts of his hips.

: She pushed back against his thrusts, and her hands moved down his back one resting on his butt. The other moving back up and gripping his hair gently as he moved within her.

: "So beautiful." He whispered, changing possition slightly so that her hand was comfortable back there. He began to increase speed, swet forming on his brow as he allowed his instincts to guide him

: She moans, and grips his butt and her hand tangled itself in his hair as she held him close. One of her legs moving to wrap around his body. This was so unexpected yet so welcomed at the same time. She knew that obi-wan would understand this moment.. but she doubted he would be so kind about her leaving the Jedi. choosing love over it.

: he would probably be disapointed in a way.. and try to talk her out of it but... he would wish her well, as it as her choice. And then she could be with the senator... stay at his side.. protecting him was the same as protecting a piece of the republic after all, wasn't it? - Anakin moaned louder, enjoying this momment with her more then he ever could have with any of those who longed to share his bed... not simply for his position but his looks and charm

: She knew of those who had wanted to share his bed she saw them hanging around when she had gone to see him. Her other leg wraps around him and she moans loudly. In this moment she'd had decided to throw everything away,and she was not regretingit at all

: It wasn't a phyiscal thing.. no matter how enjoyable it might be... but the feelings inside that drove them both to this. A senator and a Jedi, sharing a momment of bliss, of happyness... of joining their hearts as one. "Padme.." He moaned, his head tilting back a bit, golden hair framing his face... and clinging from the swet.

: She untangles her hand form his hair and caresses his face.. " my sweet Anakin" she said soflty. " I love you .. " she purred softly. She was so happy, physical was not nesseccary but it was culmination of their emotions

: He had grown into such a wonderful man as far as could be seen. Warm... wonderful... smiling down at her as her face changed in pleasure. Concerned with her wellbeing... not just his own.

: She loved him with all she had, he was so careing answering her questions and helping her try to find her way. She knew he wanted her to be okay

: He lasted as long as he could... hoping he had filled her pleasure center as much as possible.. before he filled her in another way. Her name he moaned out loud as his fingers sunk into her flesh.

: She moans loudly, and he can feel her reaction her body tightening around his as she calls out his name and falls back onto the bed. Her heart beaeting, and breathing hard still

: His heart beat fast in his chest, breathing quickly even as he curled against her on his side. "Oh Padme.." He mewlled.. so happy in his afterglow.

: She nuzzles into him and kisses hi m softly " hmmm Anakin " she pured rubbing his shoulder " I love you so much"

: The next day came.... and with it... the putting off of Padme's want to leave the Jedi. A messege came in from Obi-Wan. His long range transmitter was down and he needed her to retransmit his messege to Courscant. He'd found out what was going on on Kamino.. an army of clones... and tracked a bounty hunter.. the one apperenty after Anakin... to a place called Genosis. The messege cut off though as Obi-Wan was attacked.

: She'd woken up happily in Anakins arms, and was not sitting in one of the sitting rooms looking miserable.She had done as he asked, and knew tha any moment she could be called to help. She couldn't leave the Jedi now, they would need her.

: Not when her beloved master needed her. The Jedi had ordered her to protect the senator though... to keep him safe.. rather then the persue finding Obi-Wan. - Anakin frowned as he noticed her distress. "Padme.. what's wrong?"

: She looks up at him " Obi-Wan is in trouble" she said softly " I have to stay here though..I mean.. not that I don't want to be with you " she said trying to cover herself " but I wish I could help him"

: Anakin blinked a bit, but he wasn't surprised. It was time. the trap had been set... but it wouldn't work without ALL the bait. Padme was part of that... as was he. This was a dangerous game however. One that might cost him and her life. Dooku didn't care for him much... and why should he? Anakin was competion. One day he would take the count's spot at Sidious's side... and the Apprentice knew that. He might even try and kill the senator to prevent it.

: She leans back and closes her eyes rubbing her forehead " .. .I'm sorry I realize how this might seem" she knew she'd said she woud give up the jedi but Obi-Wan was her friend. " it seems so strange.. everything happening when we are seperated"

: "Well... your orders are what.. to stay here.. or to protect me?" He began.

: She looks up at him " Protect you " she said " So wherever you are"

: "And if I wanted to go help Obi-Wan?" A smirk formed on his lips.

: she looks at him with a bit of a smile " well.. then I would have to warn you.. and if you . insisted on going. I would have to go with you

: He grinned. "I think it's settled then. We go... we rescue your master."

: She stands up " well I must warn you senator " she started though still smiling.

: "Mmm.. warn me of what?"

: "It coud be dangerous"

: "I'll be fine. Couldn't be worse then pod racing." He beamed. - It wasn't lon before they were on his ship... a Naboo flier.. headed for Genosis.

: She was trying hard not to second guess this, to let him guide her for a while. She was worried for him, she wa supposed to keep him safe yet here they were going into danger.

: And it only got worse... when they arrived there... and after a strange battle of sorts through an underground factor for droids, were captured by Dooku's people. Of course, that was the whole point... but Anakin knew it possessed real danger. Dooku wouldn't have a better time to get rid of him... to destroy the compitition as it were.

: Anakin could see Padme's emotions jsut below the surface. She was trying to stay calm and think her way out but she was angry most at herself for having done this. She should have stayed on Naboo.. protected him liek she was supposed too.

: And now they were being sentanced to death in an arena on Genosis. While being carted off, Anakin turned and took her hands in his. "Are you afraid?" He asked her softly.

: She griped his hands tightly and thought long and ahrd about the question " Not... in the way I thought I should be"

: He leaned forward, kissing her softly. "Don't be afraid to die.." He whispered softly.

: she kisses back and nods and seems to suddenly gain some confidence

: He smiled, until they were brought out onto the Arena - Obi-Wan was there and cocked an eyebrow as he spotted his former Padawan and the senator from Naboo being lead to the colloums. "I told you to stay put." He whispered over to Padme

: She looks at him and nearly smirks " It wasn't my idea" she offered. Now that she was unafraid she was going to stand up and fight. She wouldn't go down easily if she was going to go down at all.

: "Sorry Master Jedi... I felt we should come rescue you." Anakin offered as he was chaind between the two. How ironic... the darkness set up between two sources of light. - Obi-Wan sighed, shaking his head a bit. "Good job." He told them, glancing up at his cuffs that were shackling him to the post.

: Padme wanted to reache over and smack him, she had at least tried. Standing there she started to wrestle with the chains that held her. She had to find a way out of this. She needed to rescuse Obi-Wan and Anakin now. She felt it was her fault and she needd to make up for it

: Anakin was not worried. Not even as three beasts were usered into the kill thearter. He'd managed to snag a pick from his belt and was curretly using it to undo his cuffs. - Obi-Wan glanced over at Padme. "Consintrait." He told the knight.

: She nods and closes her eyes for a brief moment and then gains confidence and the constration that she needed

: The fight began... Anakin made his way up ontop of the collum as Obi-Wan squared off against a giant crab-like beast and a rhino sort of thing ran at Padme. - for two Jedi without lightsabers they did pretty well... they held off until the calvery arrived... just as Anakin knew they would... just as he WANTED.

: Padme fought hard and did as best as she could though she couldn't deny she was working hard to keep Anakin safe. She watched now as the battler raged, jedi being taken down. the horror in her eyes as shse saw it

: Anakin had a blaster.. while she and Obi-Wan were given new lightsabers... but eventually.. they were surrounded.. and Dooku seemed pleased. He was ready to kill them... kill them all.

: Padme glanced over at Obi-Wan, trying to find out from him what they should do now.If it was up to her she would go out in a blaze fighting who she could to protect her lvoe and her master

: But they didn't have a chance to speak.. all of a sudden another army arrived.. not of Jedi.. but of clones.. lead by Master Yoda himself.

: Padme nearly sighed in relief when she saw the army.. and Yoda. Perhaps she would live to see another day Another battle.. another chance to prove herself.

: Everything.. was going acording to plan. Many Jedi were already dead... and others... were leading armies of clones into battles on Genosis. Dooku was fleeing with the battle plans and the leaders of the seperatists were taking their ships and running away. - Anakin got into the transport with Padme and Obi-Wan, closing his eyes a bit. Maybe he would get lucky and Tyranus would die here. However, that would not work into the chancellor's plans. The Apprentice was still useful.

: Padme was in shock, nearly shaking. Yes she was planing to leave the Jedi but that didn't mean she wanted to see them die.. be destroyed before them. She sighs heavily and curls up a bit. She was trying to decide who to lean on Anakin orObi-Wan

: As transport chased after Dooku it was rocked by an explosion. Anakin and several of the clones tumbled out...

: "Anakin" she yelled diving to try to catch him before before he was entirely out of reach and nearly almost falling out herself.

: Obi-Wan pulled her back. "Padme... focus... we can't let him get away and I NEED you. If Anakin's alright he'll want you to continue your mission I;m sure."

: She growls loudly, and then catches herself and nods " .. Yes master" she said trying to hide the hurt that watching him tumble out had caused.

: Obi-Wan closed his eyes, steadying himelf as they continued on - Soon, they had reachd Dooku and a fight ensued...

: Anakin had rounded up another transport and got there before even master Yoda could. He got there in time to see something he truely wanted... to see Dooku die... at the hands of Obi-Wan and Padme

: Padme fought hard, along side Obi-Wan. She didn't wnt Dooku to get away, she wanted him to pay for the threat to Anakins life.. the Jedi who'd died.

: And pay he did... his body slumping to the ground. Obi-Wan looked slightly pained. Dooku had been Qui-Gon's master after all. - Anakin approuched them, the clones in tow. "You got him!" He smiled a bit.

: Padme looks at him " you seem pleased' she said concerned as to why. She looked at Obi-Wan and reaches out and pats his arm softly " its .. okay" she said softly

: Anakin shook his head. "He tried to kill us..." He said as a way of justifying himself. - Being discreate.. while Obi-Wan and Padme were not looking at him in any way, Anakin knelt down by the body and aquired the data disk he had been hiding. Dooku was expendible, but Sidious would certianly let him have it if he didn't return with the plans for the battle station.

: ".. this.. was not how this should have been " she said softly. She should ahve stayed on Naboo.. she should have and she knew it. She had put Anakin in danger and she assumed she would be removed from protecting him because of it.

: Anakin stood up, having pocketed the plans without being noticed, and turned to them. - Obi-Wan sighed and patted Padme on the shoulder. "No... but we are at war now." He didn't know what she had really been refuring too.. he figured it was the same as he was thinking.. that this whole situation was bad. There hadn't been a real war in a thousand years... not since the Sith.

: She kept quiet after tht, looking at Anakin a .. look passing between the two of them. One of love, and devotion though she tries to keep it hidden. " Yeah.. a war" she mumbles softly

: "Even with Dooku dead.. I'm sure we havn't seen the end of this. Now come Padme, we need to make our report after we get the senator safely away." Obi-Wan clapped her gently on te shoulder again, smiled, and headed to the transport - Things happened fast after that... Whil Padme and Obi-Wan went to the council to explain what happened.. Obi-wan revealing the stuff about Sidious and the belief that Dooku himself was a Sith... Anakin slipped into a secured hanger bay where a cloaked Sidious was waiting for him.

: Sidious looks at Anakin " .. They killed him" he said firmly. Having not wanted that, it wasn't in the plan at least not yet. It threw everything ahead quite a bit.

: Anakin nodded, pulling the disk from his pocket. "I managed to recover the plans without them seeing my Lord." He offered it to the Sith, restraining a smile. He didn't want to seem too eager, or he might get himself killed dispite his power.

: He reaches out and takes the disk from his hand " thank you." he sighs softly " How go things with the girl? "

: "I belive she can be turned... in time. She loves me... and, gave herself to me. I feel if not for the war she would have dropped from the order right away. I doubt she will now. Or at least, not quiet yet."

: Sidious looks surprised " .. Gave herself to you ? " he asked quietly a bit surprised

: He grinned. "Yes. You know I have feelings for her my lord. I expressed them to her... and... we joined together physically."

: he nods " .. A good step toward turning her. Well it is better that she remains with the jedi for the moment. She may offer useful information"

: He nodded, his hands dropping to his sides as they walked along, somewhere more private.. even more then this. "Then I will make sure to steer her towards it. I'm sure, she'll wish to see me again.. as I do her..."

: Tucking the plans safely into his robe he nods " Be careful though. She is Jedi still "he said softly

: "I understand my lord... and I've made my commitment clear. If the time comes and she will not turn..." He closed his eyes. He hated to think of that, he hoped it wouldn't come to that... he wanted her. More then anything else really.. he wanted her.

: He nods " I am pleased to hear that Anakin.. "he paused " I have something todiscuss with you "

: As they stopped walking, having entered the center of republic busness once again, Anakin lifted his eyes. "Yes my lord?"

: ".. With Dooku dead.. .. " he turns " A new apperentice"

: His lips twitched slightly, but he knew Sidious might try and keep him waiting longer. He hoped not, but as he spoke he tried to keep the want from his voice, "Of course my lord. Someone needs to keep the Jedi on their toes."

: He nods "Kneel" he said firmly

: Anakin knelt before Sidious, gazing up at him. He was only slightly nervous... but knew if he wasn't to be rewarded, it was his own fault for getting himself killed.

: "From now on.. you shall be known As Darth Vader" he offers Anakin a smile it was clear what had just happened. Anakin had been raised in the ranks from agent.. to sith

: "Thank you, my master." He glowed with pride.. having waiting many years now to take his place as the apprentice of Darth Sidious. He'd even considered killing Dooku himself several times, but had thought against it. He had been needed in the senate against the seperatists, not with them.

: Now he had what he wanted he was the apperentice, and he had Padme. He nodded " Rise.. return and keep doing as you were. Watching and waiting. Keep an eye on Padme.. gather what informationo you can from her"

: "Yes Master." He bowed his head as he stood, but there was now wiping that grin from his features. "How will the seperatists be kept in line without Dooku now though?" He asked hesitently. He was not about to question his master's choices, he was just curious.

: "Don't worry about that. I have it all in hand. Focus on your duties " he said with a smie.

: He bowed. That was enough for him. He would do just what he was told. "I will master."

: Palpatine nodded and patted his shoulder " On your way then" Padme was with Obi-Wan during all of this. Doing her best to hide what had happened and how she was feeling deep downinside.

: "Then I will wait for her, and hope she comes to me. Perhaps she will get some time off as a result of the battle. Then she can come spend time with me." He smiled a bit. "What do you want me to try and learn from her?"

: He nods " What the Jedis plans are, their moves.I am sure she will confide in you. You went with her to save her beloved master. You care for her " he avoided saying love " So just listen. Relay anything that you feel might be important. I trust your judgement"

: "I will master." He wasn't sure what kind of plans the Jedi might have that the Chancellor wouldn't know about... but then... the Jedi didn't tell the senate their moves... not yet anyway.. it might take time.. but he would see to it that the Jedi would have to report to the senate.

: He nodded again and smiled yes things had taken a strange turn when Dooku had been killed however he now had a Jedi who would freely confind in his apprentice. With no reason to believe that what she said would be taken from between the two of them. It was not an equal exchange but it was helpful

: So Anakin returned to his apartment, before Padme had a chance to come visit. He couldn't be happier... He'd gotten her... and gotten the other thing he wanted... to be a Sith.

: She was still with Obi-Wan vaguely worried he would figure it out. Though her reaction to trying to save Anakin could be taken as she was devoted to her duty

: and Obi-Wan had decided to leave it as such... granting her a few days to herself as he orginized their battle plans. They were going to war.... he needed her at her best.

: She was grateful to have the days off, and proceeded straight to Anakins apartment to check on him. Wanting to know if he was okay.

: He seemed very happy when he let her in, and took her in his arms, kissing her before she even had a chance to speak.

: She wraps her arms around him and kisses him back deeply. " .. Anakin " she reached up and caresses his cheek " I was so worried.. " she admited quietly

: "I'm alright." He told her, smiling a bit. There was somethin odd behind his eyes but, his warm arms and soft kisses were distracting.

: She didn't care either, she figured it was let overs from the events or trouble with the senate " Obi-Wan has given me a few days to myself.... he is working on battle plans"

: "That's wonderful! Have you.. come to spend them with me?" He took her hands in his, taking her off to his bedroom.

: She laughs softly as he took to the bedroom.. " If you want me to " she grinned

: "Oh I want." He laughed, getting her on the bed. - When he lay with her again, kissing as they wound down he whispered, "Will you marry me? Even if it's a secret we must share?"

: She lies with him, curled up against him a sheet over them. Her hand was caressing his cheek softly when he asked her that. Her eyes went wide and she wraped her arms around him tight " oh.. yes I will " she said kissing him deeply

: He nuzzled at her neck, smiling a bit. "We can go to Naboo. No one will know... except the minister and at least two witnesses."

: ".. they need to be.. trustworthy " she said softly. She could not afford the risk now of being found out "..It would only be a secret till the end of the war.. when I can leave" she added

: He nodded. "I hope the war is ended soon then. I will do what I can in the senate to see you home safe."

: She smiles and kisses his lips softly " I am supposed to be protecting you"

: "I think I'm fine now... Dooku is probably the one that wanted me dead. And you took care of that."

: She looks down some.. " .. I guess I did"

: "So I am more safe then you are now." He kissed her again. He thought about the irony. Here, he was finnaly a Sith... and he had just asked a Jedi to marry him.

: She kisses him back, still completely unaware that he was now a Sith, though deep down she knew something was going on but she wasnt sure what. ..".. I .. " she said softly " . is there time to do it before I leave?" she wanted to be married before she was made to go back.. to stand by Obi-Wans side in the war

: "Yes." He assured her, nuzzling her cheek. "Padme.. beloved... I will be with you out there... to keep you safe.. so you can come back to me. And if you die, I expect you to come haunt me for the rest of my life." He smiled, running his hand down her body.

: She kisses him again softly, pressing close to him " Oh I am supposed to haunt you am I?" she asked in a vaguely sarcastic tone though she was aware that some long dead jedi would 'speak' to those still alive.

: "Yes." He beamed, kissing her. - In the morning they left for Naboo... found their minister and trusted witnesses, droids, and were married on the balcony of the lake house.
