: A lot had happened in the past two years... Anakin was a wonderful pupil, through sheer accident on his part he was now courting the boy's mother.... and he'd managed to secure her freedom.... but not Anakin's.... and that bothered him.... but he had plans... he'd become quite the mediator on the world... on the side of his book keeping he had settled several disputes amongst the powers that be there.... making both sides happy seemed to be an odd skill of his [11:26]

: Obi-Wan Kenobi, known was Ben, had become nicknamed the negotiator for his skills. It had him often leave the small home and travel. Too bad he couldn't take Anakin with him... Anakin was stuck with Watto.. often going to races. Being entered into races when he could be. That had lead rise to one of their plans. When the boy could, he was working on a pod racer. The fastest ever built, he would boast. Too bad the other children in the area laughed at him for it. But the boy was something special.. he never let their teasing get him down. He didn't strike back.. never in anger. [11:29]

: When he was home he worked Anakin on his skills... teaching him the best he could... the boy was good though... the lessons always stuck on the first go.... and the red blade didnt seem to affect him at all... he'd long been allowed to use it at full power.... sparring with Obi wan on a regular basis... it felt good to be working on those skills again... but it was always in secret.... in case someone got word of the chosen one ... It was a pleasant night shortly after the breif rainy season that Obi sat Anakin down... and told him of his plans "How soon before you can get your Podracer running?" [11:31]

: Anakin sat on the patio, staring up at the stars as his teacher spoke. He smiled a bit, turning his blue eyes from the sparkling gems overhead, to look into Obi-Wan's. "Might be a while. I still have to fix the fuel lines, the gyros, power cupplings, and of course a main power source would be wizard." [11:34]

: "I'll get you whatever you need in one way or another.... Ive come to the end of my line in getting you freed.... but I have a plan... you see Im going to put everything on the line... and place a bet with Watto... If you win youre mine... if you lose... Im offering myself on the block... I know he wouldnt mind making people pay him for my skills.. " Obi placed a hand on Anakin's shoulder "Dont tell your mother about this... she will get upset... about the whole thing..... or think Ive gone mad... but its the only chance I see... " [11:36]

: Anakin put a hand over Obi-Wan's, frowning a bit. "that is crazy. I won't let you risk your freedom for mine. I'll think of something. Maybe.. once I get the pod finished.. we could trick Watto into thinking it's just yours.. and you can bet THAT against me instead of your own freedom. Then what have we lost? Nothing." Anakin let go of his hand and suddnely hugged him. "We wouldn't want you to go away... not if somethign happened." [11:37]

: "You think he'd go for it ... yes.. I think he would... especially if its fast and he'd still have you to pilot it.... I'll make sure he believes it is mine... " [11:38]

: Obi knew that would be easy.. he'd gotten a name for himself and it wouldnt be hard for him to purchase a racer if he chose.... he just never had.. [11:38]

: "He'd let you pilot it for me?" [11:38]

: Anakin beamed. "First I have to FINISH it though. That will still take time." Anakin smiled, and rubbed the back of his head. "Uh.. well.. yes he would.. if you can front the cash to bet on the race.." He sighed a bit, relizing Obi-Wan didn't have that much. He'd spent it all getting Shmi freed. [11:40]

: "I'll find a way ... dont worry" Obi said patting him "For now you get what you can done.. .and we'll keep training... it will help your reflexes" [11:41]

: The boy beamed, nodding. "Yes sir!" He laughed, standing up and dusting himself off. - He loved the older man... hell, saw a father figure in him since they day they had met. One of the reasons he'd insisted Obi-Wan stay with them. And his hard work had payed off. He had someone to talk with and train with other then just his mother. [11:44]

: The once washed up failure was now a somewhat respected man .... and he'd filled the void .. become the father Anakin had never had ... "Come now... go wash up.... dont want to keep your mother waiting" [11:45]

: Anakin nodded, rushing inside. - Shmi had dinner on the table as usal. She was happy and comfortable in her new life, even if she worried a great deal about her son. She didn't like the races.. it made her die a little inside whenever he was out there at break-neck speeds, but she knew it made him happy... and knew he knew it was very dangerous. [11:47]

: Obi wan slipped his arms around her and gave her a light squeeze before settling down... he still marveled at his relationship with her... he'd just slipped one day and kissed her .. she had a wonderful way of relaxing him.... and when he'd apologized profusely for it she'd just smiled ... and asked him how long he thought she'd waited for that to happen.... it was a bit of a mystery to him.... [11:50]

: Shmi smiled, kissing him gently before getting him settled into a sleep. Life was full of surprises to her. The first one had been Anakin... right out of the blue with no explaination at all. At first, she had wondered if she had been attacked in her sleep but there were no signs of it a month out. She had even checked herself for other things that might explain why she was carrying a child.. but after the third month, she had accepted it as a miricle.. a gift to her. - Obi-wan was like a gift to her too.. to her family. Anakin loved him.. looked up to him.. and she loved him. All was right with the world except.. Anakin still wasn't free [11:52]

: And the two certainly werent going to tell her of their plans... it would just upset her... Obi hated keeping her in the dark but for now... it was the best.... things would be trying over the next few months [11:53]

: "Did you have a good day?" She asked, sitting down only once her son had joined them at the table. She was speaking to Obi-Wan but Anakin, with his typical boyish enthusaism spoke first. "Ya. After I got out of the shop I worked on my pod race then I went sparing with Ben!" [11:55]

: "He's getting quite good.... almost got me today... " Obi said with a wry smile "I might have to make him turn his blade back to kiddie mode just in case " he teased. "He should never have a problem defending himself if he needed to..... now we just need to work on some of the other things.... " [11:57]

: Shmi gave a look to her son before smiling again. "I am so proud of you Ani..." She told him, starting on her dinner. - Anakin swung his legs a bit and grinned wide as he ate, peering over at Obi-Wan. "I swear you were letting me win." [12:07]

: "no... surprisingly I wasnt.... youve got a real knack" Obi said, swirling his food around before eating some "I want to teach you to pilot ships.... but for now... " [12:08]

: Anakin chuckled. He didn't seem to belive Obi-Wan.. but it was true. He was good... a real natural at such things. Attuned to the force and letting it flow through him without much encouragment at all. A Natural gift.. one highly prised by younglings and padawans at the temple. [12:11]

: One that Obi himself had had... he still had his sadness sometimes about these things... but it was easy enough now to curl up with Shmi than to drink himself into a stupor as he once did [12:13]

: Shmi had a gift for making people feel warm, safe, and secure. She was a wonderful person.. perhaps that is why she had been 'rewarded' with Anakin. He too, was wonderful.. always willing to lend a hand when he wasn't busy learning new things.. or being used for manual labor and such at the junk shop. [12:24]

: He was happy with her.. Anakin.. the whole situation.... just had to solve his one problem then he could take them away frm there if he chose [12:25]

: He just had to help Anakin gain his freedom. Then it was off to the stars. The boy longed to fly amung them. And Shmi, well, she would go too.. with them. To whereever her heart took her. - After dinner, Anakin went back outside, fiddling with his lightsaber. [12:26]

: Obi wan helped Shmi clear the dishes then went out to watch the boy..... he seemed to be having fun... somethig he would have been admonished for amongst the Jedi... it was all business with them.... but how could something like this hurt? [12:28]

: The boy was enjoying himself, even as he went over the various basic techiques that Obi-Wan had shown him.. the things that younglings learned in the temple. - When Kenobi came outside, Anakin turned towards him, shutting the lightsaber off and smiling a bit. "What are we going to do tonight?" [12:30]

: "I thought perhaps we'd work on some meditation..... some reaching out..." [12:35]

: The boy frowned. "Aww.." he hated meditation.. had said several times it made him feel... strange. [12:41]

: "Tonight will be a little different... I want you to look at the stars.... I want to see if you can reach that far.... its not something all Jedi can do but Im curious about how far you can go..... try it... its a way to go out there without a ship" [12:42]

: The boy glanced at him, but nodded as he sat down. Folding his legs, he put the lightsaber in his lap and looked up at the sky. "There are so many of them... do they all have a system of planets?" He breathed, smiling as he tried to focus. [12:44]

: "Most .. but not all... and only a few of them have life... Ive been to many worlds Annie... and I promise you will go to them too.. in time.... for now this is the best I can give you... the greatest hope of them all is the freedom to do as you choose is it not? I want to inspire you to your best these next few months" [12:45]

: The boy closed his eyes and took a deap breath to relax himself. Obi-Wan was right.. that was the greatest freedom.. one that most didn't have. Most went day in day out without making any real choices. Just doing things. Anakin wanted to be able to choose... to decide what he wanted to do with his life.. not to be told what to do by others. [12:48]

: "Tell me what you see... when you can " Obi wan told him... watching the boy carefully... he'd never been able to do this himself [12:49]

: The boy frowned a bit, not sure as he tilted his head. "I see... it's strange.. flashes.. images..." He wasn't sure if he was imagining this or not as he licked his lips. [12:52]

: "relax... see if you can pick one out... focus on it [12:53]

: The boy bit his lip for a momment, then nodded. "I see men in white armor with blasters all marching... and I'm standing before them.. leading them. It's a battle I think... but I don't know what's going on. then I switch to seeing another star.. and it's sort of the same thing.. only I'm watching a battle from the deck of a huge ship.. watching fighters explode in space. I... don't know what I'm seeing." [12:55]

: Obi wan frowned... was it possible this boy was seeing the future instead of t a distance "You can stop now Annie.... I think... what youre seeing is beyond even my explanation... " [12:56]

: The boy shook himself for a momment, then opened his eyes. "You don't know what I'm seeing? I.. it felt so real for a momment.. I could feel the air moving past me as I marched.." [12:56]

: "Perhaps you saw the future... " [12:57]

: "The future? Does this mean I'm going to be in battle?" [12:57]

: "Perhaps... but you dont seem to be a warrior..." [12:58]

: "My name means warrior.." he frowned a bit, "and I'm good at it only.. I.. don't want to kill anyone. I don't even want to hurt anyone." [13:00]

: "Always follow your heart Annie... thats all I can tell you.... sometime fighting must be done in order to keep people safe... [13:04]

: The boy nodded, and climbed to his feet as he put his lightsaber away. "You realy think I can see the future?" [13:05]

: "Perhaps.. " Obi said with a sad smile "Lets do our best to keep this one a secret as well..." [13:06]

: The boy nodded, putting a finger over his lips. "Will do." It was strange if he was really seeing the future.. and a little disturbing.. but he would learn to trust his heart.. and let it lead him. [13:07]

: Obi would see to it that the boy made the right choices.... he would not let him go astray [13:08]

: The boy was so kind hearted anyway.. it was doubtful he would go astray. He was determined to help others.. - But a month later things were put to a test. Watto had given Anakin the day off.. mostly so he could go gamble alone and not have to worry about a slave getting in the way. So the boy had gone off into the wastes with Obi-Wan, to train where it was more 'private'. [13:11]

: It was a common thing for them to wander a bit... and do as they pleased "So what shall we do today Annie?" Obi asked... [13:12]

: The boy shrugged, "I don't know... I just wanted to get out of the city a bit.. the other kids.. they keep coming around trying to.. stare.. at me." He frowned a little. [13:12]

: "Dont they usually leave you alone?" [13:13]

: "They do.. but.. they don't like me.. and I don't know why. Always laughing." he sighed, then looked up at Obi-Wan. "That's why I wanted to get away." [13:14]

: "Well you know Im always here for you.... anything you need to talk about?" [13:15]

: He shook his head. "i can't think of anything." he smiled, "other then you are my only friend." [13:16]

: "You'll make more as you get older... for now .... you are at odds because of your status.." Obi said... patting him on the shoulder "Up for a workout?" [13:17]

: "Always." The boy grinned, taking a few steps back from Obi-Wan and flexing his body. [13:18]

: Obi smiled and took out his blade .... moving off a few steps himself and drawing before taking up his stance.... he almost always let the boy have the first move [13:19]

: Anakin pulled out his blade, igniting the red beam as he gazed out at his teacher. The boy was as good with offense as it seemed Obi-Wan was good with defense. Infact, in training the boy, Kenobi had been learning so much more.. growing in skill. - Anakin moved carefully towards Obi-Wan, holding his blade in a way the older man had taught him, before striking out. [13:21]

: Obi parried ... taking a few steps back and making a counter... in all their time of playfighting neither had ever been wounded... they fought well together... [13:22]

: They played off one another.. the perfect compliment. Odd that Obi-Wan had skipped over Padawan and went right to master.. but it seemed that's where the force wanted him. It just took him seven years to find that out... - After a few minutes Anakin suddenly stopped, his brow creasing. "I feel.. something.." [13:23]

: "Feel something?" Obi asked... sheathing his blade [13:24]

: The boy nodded, sheathing his own. "I feel like we're being watched.." He started looking around at the rock outcroppings. [13:25]

: "Raiders?" Obi asked.... moving alongside him ... they would fight side by side if needed [13:26]

: The boy frowned. "Raiders? Here? You think so?" He asked, standing at Obi-Wan's side even as he felt the hairs on his neck stand up. [13:26]

: "They would be awful close... but what else would be watching us out here?" Obi asked... opening up a little to see if he could feel what the boy felt [13:27]

: The boy was scanning still when the first calls came... Raiders alright... they were surrounding the pair... coming up over the sands and from around the rocks. [13:28]

: "Looks like we are going to have a fight on our hands.... lets be sure to remember... disable instead of kill if you can..." [13:29]

: The boy nodded, swallowing hard. If they didn't win, he was probably a goner. Even if the raiders didn't kill him right off.. they'd probably drag him off..and since he was a slave.. it might be considered and 'escape' which would then get him killed... [13:30]

: "A real test of skill Annie" Obi said "Watch my back ... and I'll watch yours" [13:31]

: "Yes sir." The boy said, gripping the handle of his blade tightly as the raiders advanced with their sticks. [13:38]

: Obi put his back to Anakin's ... and waited.. letting them make the first move would be wisest... give them the chance to move off if they wnted... it was unlikely though..the raiders were fanatical [13:39]

: Of course the raiders wern't used to lightsabers.. at least not this bunch. They came foreward.. striking at the pair without mercy. It was unclear what they wanted... of course, no one really knew when it came to sand people. [13:41]

: They were forced to defend themselves... they had little choice but to fight... and there were casualties [13:42]

: Of course.. after the first few demonstrations of power.. the sand people scattered.. running off... but that didn't help what had happend.. Anakin had reacted.. to save Obi-Wan from an attack that the Jedi couldn't defend as he was defending another.. and the wound inflicted to the raider was fatal.. [13:45]

: Obi frowned.... leaning over to check the raider "Dead.. " he said with a sigh... "Anakin..." [13:45]

: The boy was shaking pretty bad, on his knees. "I.. I... there was nothing.. I... he was gonna.." [13:46]

: "Im not angry.. annie... you saved me... It would have been me on the ground and not the raider... we gave them a chance to go away" [13:46]

: "Still.. I..." There were tears in the boy's eyes. So sensitive he was.. so good. to take a life even in the defense of another made him upset. [13:48]

: Obi knelt beside him and hugged him "Something like this was bound to happen... its alright annie. " [13:49]

: The boy needed to be carried home.. he was distraught.. but it would pass in time. He hadn't meant to take life... but it had saved Obi-Wan.. and that was what was important, wasn't it? [13:52]

: Obi put him in his bed and sat to stroke his hair "Relax annie.. " [13:52]

: The boy bit his lip and sighed a bit. "I will.. it's just... never easy..is it?" [13:55]

: "No... it wasnt easy for me either... " obi said.... still stroking "And that wont be the first... " [13:56]

: Anakin gazed up at Obi-Wan. "Let's keep this from mom.. please? I don't want to worry her." [13:58]

: "Yes... I understand... " Obi said "Shmi wont know..." [13:59]

: The boy nodded, and closed his eyes. It had been a big day... and disturbing.. but he would get used to it in time. After all.. he couldn't hesitate because of this if anything like that happend again.. or he and Obi-Wan might both die instead. [14:00]

: Obi was upset himself... he did not like to see the boy distraught... "get some rest" he told him before he retired himself..... seeking his own comfort... [14:03]

: There were many setbacks with the pod racer. It actually took another two years for it to be finished... by that time Anakin was almost ten. They were ready to go to Watto... except they needed the money to back him in the bunta eve race... which they didn't have. It was two days away and it looked hopeless for this time. Until.. as Anakin was cleaning the fan switches.. Watto called him upfront.. because a group of travellers had come in looking for parts. - Scrambling up on the counter, Anakin continued his cleaning.. when he spotted the girl.. she was more beauitful then anything he'd ever seen before. So much so he forgot his manors and asked, "Are you an Angel?" To the fourteen year old with the brown curls. [14:04]

: She just laughed... it was entirely too cute.... and a bit sad when she realized he was a slave [14:05]

: He smiled at her. "I'm Anakin Skywalker." He told her, setting the thing he was cleaning asside and gazing out at her with his bright blue eyes. [14:07]

: "My name is Padme... its nice to meet you... do you think your shop will have the parts we need?" [14:08]

: "I'm sure of it.. but.. Watto doesn't take republic credits.. nor do most of the places around here." He bit his lip, gazing at her. "Nice to meet you too Padme." [14:09]

: "That is going to be a problem then ... since we have nothing but credits.... " She said with a frown ... "We'll have to think of something..." [14:10]

: The boy sighed a bit. She seemed nice... he wanted to help her. "Well.. there is a lot of ways to get parts around here. Gambling.. everyone here loves to gamble. Maybe you can use that to get the parts from Watto?" [14:11]

: "We dont have much to gamble with.... I dont have anything and the Jedi traditionally dont own anything.... " She said with a frown "Other than our ship and if we lose that we are in trouble" [14:12]

: The boy's eyes flickered and went wide. "Jedi? Jedi here?" He glanced at the back door into the junk yard, his heart skipping a few beats. [14:13]

: "Ahh.. oh... yes shh... I shouldnt have let that slip " She said.... "Can you do me a favor and keep that a secret?" [14:13]

: The boy swallowed a bit. "From everyone but my family.." he told her, placing a dirty finger to his lips. [14:14]

: She nodded and patted him on the head "Thank you... " she said with a small smile as the Disappointed jedi returned.... even the mindtrick didnt work .... they were in a bit of trouble [14:16]

: The boy picked up what he was cleaning before and went back to work before Watto could see him slacking off. --- Holly sighed a bit, pulling her white robes around herself. "We'll have to try somewhere else." She said softly. She was a beautiful woman with sandy skin, jewel-like eyes, and brown wavey hair that fell down her back a bit. She always wore white, and was a healer but she could easily defend herself if fighting was required. [14:17]

: "Doesnt look like there is much else to this place save for bars an gamlbing dens.... we dont even have money for lodging... " The blonde boy that seemed to be her student said glumly "What do we do now?" [14:18]

: Anakin quietly observed them, feeling a little bad... --- "Now.. my young padawan.. we search around a few more shops then return to our ship." Holly smiled, patting his shoulder as she headed for the door. [21:24]

: Obi was dabbling with numbers.. poking at his datapad boredly. Work had been a tad boring as of late [21:25]

: Anakin, who had managed to get let off early for cleaning fast enough, came running in.. dodging around the bouncer who thought he was too young, and heading straight for Obi-Wan. Swallowing he said, "Ben.. I just saw two of.. THEM.. in the shop." He didn't need to use the word Jedi.. he knew his mentor would understand. [21:30]

: "This... is not a good thing... did they notice you?" Obi asked.... setting his pad down and frowning.. "last thing we need is that..." [21:32]

: "They didn't notice me.. but.. the girl they were with.. I.. I want to help her. They need help getting off Tatooine. The ship that brought them here needs it's hyperdrive fixed.. only Watto has the parts.. but they only have Republic Money." Anakin explained, talking rapidly. [21:33]

: "Annie if you help them they'll figure it out..." Obi said with a sigh "And they never did anything for us... especially not me" [21:34]

: "I don't want to help THEM I want to help HER." He tried to explain, frowning a little, "She seems to nice.. she's beautiful and.. I don't know.. I just feel I HAVE to help her." [21:36]

: "Annie if you want to help them go ahead... I... I cant.. " [21:37]

: "I can't take them home then." He bit his lip, "What will they do if they find you?" [21:41]

: "I dont know... tell Shmi I wont be home tonight... " Obi said.... "I can sleep here" [21:42]

: "Mom won't be happy about that." He frowned a bit... then he grinned suddenly, "i have an idea. Maybe.. what if they sponsered me in the Bunta Eve classic? We don't have the money.. they have no money but they DO have a ship. Maybe they can make a deal with Watto. Of course the one problem is... how do we get them to gamble my pod on me?" [21:48]

: "THey might not have a choice.. from what I hear theres a war going on out there ... or the brink of it... nobody will be here to help them for a long time... do what you want Annie... I cant be involved" [21:50]

: Anakin nodded a bit, sighing. "I wish there was a way to help her without getting them involved.. but.. I don't know what what is going on.. perhaps she needs them." He tapped his lip slightly and tilted his head to one side. "So.. maybe if I suggest to her a way that might help them.. I can offer the pod to her and see if she's up for it?" [21:55]

: "Do as you like" Obi said... he felt depressed... he couldnt do anything for Annie so they boy found someone who could.... [21:55]

: Anakin frowned, putting a hand up on Obi-Wan's arm. "Don't be sad.. if you don't want me to help anyone connected to the Jedi I won't... Please.. don't be sad." [22:00]

: "No anakin.. if they can do for you what I cannot.... how could I say to ..." [22:00]

: He hugged Obi-Wan tightly around the waist, sniffling. "I'd rather still be a slave working every day in the same beat up junk shop then make you depressed.." [22:01]

: "Annie just follow your heart... thats all I can say... " Obi said... hugging him back "Help them if you must... but I cant be a part of it" [22:01]

: "I do follow my heart. It says help her.. but make sure you're happy." He smiled, letting go of his mentor. [22:02]

: "I'll be happy if you are free.... I will never be able to do it..." [22:02]

: "Sure you will. Just have faith." The boy smiled, "Come home for dinner. I'll wait outside if.. for some reason.. I have to bring them there.. ok?" [22:04]

: "A... alright Annie... just .. please be careful... " obi said... "I'll be home for supper... I suppose we can leave now if you like" [22:05]

: The boy nodded, and ran out. "I'll be careful!" He shouted back before vanishing onto the street... He needed to find that girl.. to find Padme. There was something about her.. he just needed to help her. He didn't care about the Jedi. They were not to be trusted.. Obi-Wan had said so. [22:06]

: Obi sighed and went back to his calculations..... he dreaded going out now..... sure that he Jedi would sense him and make a challenge to his existance [22:07]

: Holly didn't sense him though.. she wasn't even looking for other force users.. she was just paying close attention to her Padawan. Making sure he wasn't getting into trouble, which the poor kid was apt to do. She also had to pay attention to that young handmaiden.. not sure why the Queen wanted her to come along. But who was a Jedi to object with the rule of a leader? [22:09]

: Cloud had a habit of being a tad too curious.... and often got in trouble trying to find things out.... asking too many questions oblivious to the fact that who he was talking to would be getting more and more upset... she had to wonder sometimes [22:10]

: He was doing that right now... somehow getting a very angry creature that walked on it's hands ready to throal him.. until a small boy came up, chuckling at the creature in Huttese. They had a small exchange.. where the creature seemed to speak angerly with the boy before stalking off. - The boy shook his head and tossed a strange smile over at Cloud before looking directly at Padme. "You're friend there was about to get himself turned into goo.. he picked a fight with a Dug.. an especially nasty one called Sebulba." [22:12]

: "I was just asking questions... " Cloud said with a frown "Why does everyone take offense to that?" [22:13]

: The boy looked from Padme to Cloud, frowning a bit. "The dug really don't like to be questioned.. it is best to leave them alone." [22:15]

: "The sooner we're off this dustball the better then... Ive never met such disagreeable creatures.... " Cloud said ..... "You are the boy from the shop this morning?" [22:17]

: The boy nodded. "Afternoon realy.. and yes I am. Anakin Skywalker. What brings you to Tatooine? Just spare parts? Get into a firefight?" He asked, drawing on his boyish curiousity to distract from the fact that he was half interogating them. He didn't want them to think he was doing that though. [22:19]

: "Now wait a second... " Cloud said... before Padme shoved him lightly aside "We had a bit of damage on our trip and were forced to land here for repairs... do you think you could talk that shopkeeper into giving us the parts?" [22:21]

: "Talk Watto into giving you anything? No... but there are other ways. I mean.. he is very into gambling. There's this big race soon that if you had something to use as an entry fee... you MIGHT be able to get him to give you the parts if you win rather then cash." [22:22]

: "All we really have is our ship... and I dont know much about gambling... " [22:23]

: "Well.. you just need to bet on a good racer with a fast pod." Anakin coughed then, a grin splitting his face,. [22:24]

: "Do you have some tips for us then?" Padme asked... [22:24]

: Anakin inclined his chin. "Sure do. One of the best pod racers on Tatooine. Only human capible of it." He tapped his chest, "ME!" --- Holly tilted his head, "Faster racer? You must have Jedi reflexes.. it's a very dangerous sport." [22:30]

: "So youre saying youre a sure win? Or are you just being a braggart?" Cloud asked. [22:32]

: Anakin shot the Jedi a strange look, but grinned none the less. "I'm saying I'm willing to help. I don't think any of the other racers would care about your plite and Watto would supply me if you front the ship for the race because then he'll take the money and give you the parts if I win. Besides, I have the fastest racer ever built! It's been ready and waiting to go!" [22:33]

: "And if we lose we're stuck here.... " Cloud huffed "I dont think this is a good iea.. " [22:35]

: "We're stuck here anyway my young padawan." Holly smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder, "It sounds like an interesting deal." She smiled a bit --- Anakin clapped his hands together, "You'll have to make him think my pod belongs to you though.. but don't worry.. just go back there tomorrow and work it out with him." [22:38]

: "Well.. we dont have a choice do we?" PAdme said "Lets see this racer of yours before we make the deal though" [22:39]

: The boy nodded and waved his hand. "Come on.. it's back at my home." He smiled a bit and started to run off. - Soon they were at the boy's house, being taken around back to the allyway where a small but nice podracer sat. It looked in prime condition and fully built. It even had a nice paint job in blue and red. [22:42]

: "It looks good.... are you sure this is going to help us.... you seem sure bu t... we need a positive.. " [22:43]

: The boy nodded. "I want to help you. I don't like seeing good people get stranded.. not here. Not on this rock." He smiled at Padme, his blue eyes locking onto her. "If I can help you.. I will." [22:24]

: Cloud sighed "We'll have to let Padme take ownership of this .. " he said... eyeing the boy... there was something odd to about him.. he was somewhat amazed Holly had said nothing of it yet [22:26]

: Holly was quiet reserved, watching the situation carefully. She had sensed it too.. something quiet odd about the boy. But he was willing to help them.. or rather, she suspected it had more to do with the girl then her and Cloud. - As her Padawan spoke, the Jedi master nodded her head. "Yes." She agreed, watching the boy run over a few maintence checks on his craft. A plan was already forming in her mind. She wanted to test his blood... ever since she'd learned he could race pods she knew he must be fairly powerful with the foce. But just how powerful, she did not yet know. [22:28]

: But how was she going to talk him into something like that? [22:29]

: Talk to his parents perhaps... get their permission... [22:30]

: So she waited. Boys would be boys after all. While he went through fixing his pod up and talking with Padme.. crawling around, eventually he cut himself. - Wincing a little, Anakin rubbed his arm where he had scraped it on a lose piece of metal. He sighed, fixed the piece, then wandered towards his door to get it fixed. - Holly smiled at him, "Here.. I am a healer.. I can fix that." She told him, taking his arm gently even as he nearly backed away. She swabbed at the wound, carefully forcing a drop into a tiny film she was carrying and then set about using her healing gifts. "There you go." She said, letting go - Anakin moved back inside.. not sure what just hapend. [22:33]

: His full attention was on Padme.... and she seemed to like his company... asking him questions about what it was like to be a slave.. "So your father and mother are free and you are a slave still?" [22:34]

: He shook his head. "I don't have a father... a real one. Ben is.. well, he's basicly my father. But I met him when I turned five. Found him on the streets, brought him home, and he's been living with us ever since." He smiled, holding out some fruit for Padme, "He had enough two years ago to free mom.. but.. Watto doesn't want to sell me.. at least not at what Ben can afford... so we've been hoping to raise enough to win a race then maybe he'll have enough." [22:39]

: "So you brought someone home from the streets? How did you know he wasnt going to hurt you" [22:40]

: "He was a good person.. he'd just gotten lost and depressed. He didn't have any money.. he was new to Tatooine.. and I knew it when I saw his eyes he wasn't going to hurt me." He pressed the fruit into her hand and smiled a bit. "He's a really great guy. Taught me so much." [22:46]

: "Well thats good.. Im glad you found somone nice in this unpleasant place: [22:47]

: Anakin smiled, "You're nice too. And I.. found you here." He told her. He wanted to hold her hand, but he was just a kid.. and she, though young herself, was practicly an adult. Not just in her actual age but in the way she was carrying herself. [22:53]

: "Youre cute Annie... Its a shame such a nice boy like you is stuck her... I suppose even if we lose it'll be alright" [22:54]

: "I won't lose.. I can't.. I don't want you to be trapped here Padme." His face showed his determination, then he smiled. "Don't worry about me. I [22:54]

: I'll be free one day.. then me, mom, and Ben will go cruising the galaxy!" [22:58]

: "You'll hve to come visit me on Naboo... " [22:59]

: "What's Naboo like? I'd love to go for a visit. anywhere has to be better then here. So much sand.. gets into evveerryyytthinngg." He laughed, patting his sandy clothing. [23:02]

: "Its much greener... and more water... in fact there is an area thats almost nothing but lakes" [23:03]

: "Wow!" His face lit up, "Water everywhere? That must be the most beautiful planet in the whole galaxy!!" Such a child he was... but at the same time, such enthusiasm was enlightening in times like this. [23:07]

: "Well... it is quite beautiful... but there are prettier" [23:07]

: "I really want to see it." He told her, smiling a bit. "Do you have a place to stay in town? There's about to be a sand storm!" [23:08]

: "No.. we dont really... we have our ship but its on the outskirts.. [23:09]

: He winced vissibly. "You'll never make it back in time." They'd have to stay.. but he didn't want to put Obi-Wan out. However, he could never let this young woman go out into danger.. even if it ment putting up with two Jedi. [23:10]

: Obi would just have to deal with it... he woudl understnd [23:11]

: So Anakin waited outside for him, letting the two Jedi and the young woman converse with his mother. He sighed a bit, standing when he saw his friend, mentor, and father figure approuching. [23:12]

: "Annie, how goes it?" Obi asked "You shouldnt be out here.. its going ot hit any minute" [23:13]

: Anakin lowered his eyes. "They're inside.. I.. couldn't let them leave.. their ship is too far away.. and well. I didn't want anything to happen to Padme." Dispite how compassionate and loving he was, he couldn't get himself to feel anythign for the Jedi. After all, they had hurt his beloved mentor. [23:20]

: Obi sighed. "Well.. I dont hvae anywhere else to go... we'll just have to weather this storm together.. " he said with a soft sigh... moving inside and herding Anakin before him [23:22]

: Anakin smiled, pleased that Obi-Wan was actually coming home. He was a bit worried about the Jedi but.. he was ready to help defend his mentor if need be. - Holly was at the table, talking with Shmi about her remarkible son when the two can in. Her jeweled eyes flicked up from the table and she peered at him for a momment. She sensed.. he was familiur.. but couldn't place him. - She on the other hand was probably easier to identify. Holly was a Jedi Master after all.. and a very tallented healer.. extremely powerful with the light side of the force. [23:28]

: Obi sighed and moved over to shmi "If you dont mind love Im going to retire early tonight.. " he told her.. frowning "Please make our guests comfortable" [23:30]

: Shmi reached up and patted his arm, a smile gracing her lips. "As you wish. Sleep well." she was a bit worried about him but.. she knew it was due to their guests. - Anakin frowned a little and took a bowl from the table. "I'll bring you supper." He told Obi-Wan, quickly filling it so he could follow him. [23:33]

: Obi nodded and went into his bedroom... sitting down on his bed and closing his eyes .. the Jedi would surely realize now... [23:34]

: Anakin followed him in, shutting the door and setting the bowl in the older man's lap. "I'm sorry if I'm upseting you.. I.. can't just make the Jedi leave. Padme would go with them and.. she might get hurt." [23:38]

: "I know Annie.. its alright... as much as I dislike them... I could not turn them out into the storm" [23:39]

: He smiled, nodding a bit. "Make sure you eat. I need to get entered into the race... and help get them out of here. Then we can return to our lives." [23:42]

: "Go keep them entertained Annie.. I know you like that girl.. " obi said.. ruffling the boy's hair and starting on his meal [23:44]

: Anakin smiled and headed back out to have dinner with the others. - Things happend fast over the next two days. Holly returned to the ship, leaving Cloud to escort Padme around.. leaving the two of them in charge of getting the deal together with Watto. She had other things to do... like analizing the boy's blood. The results shocked her. She had never seen such a count. It was even higher then Master Yoda! It practicly went off the charts. [23:46]

: This boy... was... phenominal.. she'd have to try to get him to come back with her.... even though it was unlikely the Jedi would take him for training [23:46]

: To make sure he stayed out of the hands of the Sith. He seemed kind... was willing to risk himself for those he didn't even know.. but that didn't mean the dark side couldn't hook him somehow. He was a slave after all... and the Sith could offer him much. [23:50]

: She had a slight feeling that perhaps something had already found him... the man that had come home that night... had been oddly familiar... yet she still coundlt place him... she needed acess to the archives perhaps [23:51]

: Perhaps he had been a Jedi. A padawan perhaps that had washed out. That was a possibility. For now though, she had to make sure she was with her padawan, keeping him safe and out of trouble. Cloud could be a handful, but he was a talented warrior. [23:53]

: He always got himself into some sort of trouble... she didnt have time to be musing... it was time to get back to him .. and Padme.. [23:55]

: Anakin was livid. He was going to race tomorrow! He couldn't wait! The races were so much fun.. even though they terrified his mother. He just felt.. so alive.. so free.. when compeeting. It was hard to explain sometimes. - After being allowed to go home, he grinned wide at Padme. "This will be Wizard!" [00:03]

: "You should get some rest Annie.. its going to be trying on you" Padme told him.. patting his head.... she'd become quite comfortable with him... and his somewhat strange family... his mother was alright but his father.... he had terribly sad eyes sometimes.. [00:05]

: Anakin smiled, not minding that she patted his sun-blonde hair. "Yes. I'll get some sleep. Will you ride with me to the race track tomorrow? Maybe we can talk for a bit?" In his pocket he fiddled with something. A snippet he had bartered for. He wanted to make her a gift before she had to leave. [00:06]

: "Of course, you just make sure you actually sleep... and get a good breakfast" Padme said... hugging him lightly "Now go on.. Im going to go talk with Holly and Cloud a bit... we have important things to plan once we're off of here" [00:07]

: He nodded and headed into his room. He had a few things to do before he actually went to sleep.. such as make her that gift. - Holly had returned and was waiting in the next room, having told Cloud her findings almost excitedly. [00:09]

: "I thought there was something odd about him.. " Cloud said... "What d we do Master?... take him with us?" [00:09]

: "We'd have to secure his freedom somehow first.. and see if it is alright with his family. Explain to them that he should be kept safe." [00:21]

: Cloud nodded "They may not go for that... his father distrusts us... " [00:21]

: Holly nods. "I belive he might have been in the temple for a while.. I get the sense of that though I do not know who he is." [00:23]

: "I can do some research.. if you'd like.. the race holds little interest to me.." [00:24]

: Holly beamed. "I'm pleased to hear you say that Cloud. After the swoop bikes on Coruscant.. I figured Pod Racing would be something you'd be interested in." She patted her Padawan on the shoulder, rising to her feet. [00:24]

: "I learned my lesson" he said glumly... "I'll be at the ship.. to see if I can uplink t the archives... " [00:25]

: "May the force be with you." She told him as he departed. "Remember, do not let anyone on that ship send any sort of transmission. The trade federation might track us here." [00:26]

: Cloud nodded and headed off.. he was curious about the man here.. curious about the business of the boy... he had been taught ... unconventialy it seemed [00:27]

: Shmi slipped in behind Obi-Wan, resting a gentle hand on his shoulder as she leaned her head towards his. "Are you going to be alright?" She asked softly. [00:30]

: "Yes... I will go see his race... it may be the last time i get to watch him.... " Obi said softly... pulling her into an embrace "I have done all I can for him and I am sure the force wants him to move on... to learn more... it will be safer for him too... " [00:32]

: Shmi sliped onto the bed, pulling her arms about him and giving him a soft kiss. She might be twice his age more or less, but she loved him. "I am glad you will be there. I am terrified that something will go wrong." she sighed. She was already terrified when he raced.. feeling like she would die inside. "You really think he is about to leave?" [00:40]

: "It is more than likely dear" Obi said with a frown "He is the chosen one that the Jedi have spoken of.. it is only ... right that he go to them to become what he need be.. [00:41]

: She closed her eyes. "I take it that means we will not be able to go with him." She whispered, not liking the idea of not seeing her son again, but she wanted him to be happy.. to be free.. and to use his gifts. [00:43]

: "Yes.. I fear not... but we will leave this place... perhaps go to a nice world and settle... the girl Padme comes from Naboo.. and he likes her... we'd get to see him at times.. " [00:44]

: She smiled, kissing his cheek softly. "To be away from this world... to travel... Anakin will love that. I do want so much more for him then he has. So much more then a slave's life. I have seen him train with you... and I feel that is his destiny." [00:45]

: "This is all... dependant on his winning tomorrow... but I do not doubt his abilities... he will win... " [00:46]

: "The force is with him.. it guides him... It will help him to win." She agreed, trembling lightly at the thought of him in another crash. He had yet to even finish a race let alone win one.. all because he got knocked about by the other pods. [00:47]

: "There is a lot at stake... he will win just to impress the girl if anything else [00:48]

: Shmi gave a soft chuckle. "I have noticed.. he is quiet taken with her... but at their ages... it will be years before he will even understand truely what he is feeling.." [00:51]

: "Yes... I know.. but its something to foster in him... love is powerful... an better than other things [00:52]

: "Yes.. it is. Love can change worlds. Look at what it has done for you. And for them it might just help them. Without love, where would you be? Where would they be?" [00:52]

: "I would likely be dead... I dont think I would have held up after to abuse" [00:53]

: She kissed him again. "Instead.. you have a decent life.. and are surrounded by those who care for you." [00:57]

: "Yes... I came to where I needed to be.. it was not just luck that Anakin found me" [00:57]

: "It was the force." She added, having conversed with him on this topic many times before. [00:59]

: Obi chuckled "Its hard to be both happy and sad at the same time" [01:00]

: "I think I'll settle on happy for right now. There is pleanty of time to be sad if sad things occur." [01:14]

: "I'll try dear.. I will just miss him... I might have to find a new apprentice" [01:15]

: Shmi kissed him again. "You really enjoy training him? He loves you dearly... and he seems to learn very well under you. You are a good teacher." [01:17]

: "I think that I am on to a new .... school of Jedi.... one that allows emotion.... but necessitates control" [01:18]

: "That sounds like a good plan." She smiled, rubbing his back. "Now.. let us get to bed.. so we can watch Anakin race tomorrow and pray that he wins." [01:27]

: Obi purred and nibbled her ear... but settled down... he did need his own rest [01:28]

: The next day, Anakin had been up early, gathering what he needed for the race. He was too excited to sleep.. and ready to fly. But after gathering things together, he found himself watching the sleeping Padme.. a strange expression on his face. [01:31]

: He felt oddly towards her... a good odd though.... and he wanted to go with her when she left [01:31]

: He didn't want to be parted from his mother or from his mentor but.. the urge to follow her to Naboo.. perhaps around the galaxy.. was quiet strong. [01:32]

: He'd go with her... and fnid a way to bring his parents there as well perhaps.... it would make sense... fro her description of hte place.. his mother would love it [01:33]

: Obi-Wan would surely like it there better then here. Maybe they could find good jobs... and who knew where he'd be. But first.. he needed his freedom. - He kept watching her, even as she started to wake. [01:37]

: Padme shifted.. and opened her eyes "Annie?" [01:38]

: "I didn't wake you did I?" The boy asked. "You seem so peaceful." [01:39]

: "Mmm... no ... " Padme said... drawing the blankets up around herself a little more "you look like youre ready..... did you sleep at all?" [01:39]

: He nodded his head. "I slept as much as I could. I'm so excited. And I can't wait to help you.. even if that means you'll be going far away from here." [01:47]

: "You can come with us if you want... I think the jedi would like that" [01:48]

: "I don't want to leave mom and Ben.. but they do have eachother and.. I.. do want to come see your world." [01:49]

: "Perhaps I can find quarter for them on Naboo... Im sure it would be a welcome change... to this place" [01:50]

: Anakin blinked for a momment. He wondered how a simple handmaiden could do that... and wondered if she was something more. But he decided not to ask. She seemed honest but perhaps she was keeping something for some reason. Perhaps from the Jedi as well. "That would be nice." [01:55]

: Padme sighed and sat up [10:02]

: Shmi was up next.. and made breakfast before they could make their way to the race. [10:04]

: Obi was a bit fidgety... but he ate... he left Annakin to make his way while he hugged shmi and reassured her that all would be well.... the last thing he did was slip is lightsabre on.... he doubted he'd need it and rarely wore it openly.... but today was different [10:06]

: There was a Jedi around. Anakin wanted his blade but it wasn't practicle for him to wear one while racing. - Anakin kissed his mother's cheek as he climbed onto a transport.. practicly sitting on Padme's lap as the creature started off. - Shmi held Obi-Wan as they followed suite. [10:08]

: Anakin couldnt be happie.... Padme had to slip her arms around him as they rode to avoid falling.... and they talked of things as they rode... she was telling him about how she knew of some places that his family would like on Naboo... the lake country [10:09]

: He listened intently, telling her things to. About his life as a slave.. about his building things.. about his want to see the stars... about his desire to help people all over the galaxy. [10:11]

: "I want you to come with me.. when it s time to go Annie... I can help you with that .. helping people... " [10:12]

: "You really think so? But first.. I'd have to be free.. you don't even have money that Watto would take.. and the deal was just for the parts for your ship.. not money if I win." He sighed a bit. Yes, he wanted to go with her.. to see Naboo. [10:14]

: "I can get it.... if you cant come with me I'll come back for you" [10:16]

: He smiled a bit. He belived it was probably just talk but it made him happy all the same. Patting her hand, he closed his eyes and let himself relax. He had to help her. This wasn't for Watto or for himself.. this was for Padme. - Soon they had arrived at the track. Watto was convinced that Sebulba would win... leaving an opertunity to gamble on Anakin... but the pod was supposible Padme's now and.. that was the only thing to deal with. Would they even venture such a deal on Watto? [10:22]

: She did and she would.. the parts for the spaceship ... if Anakin won... the ship if he didnt... .. she was even tempted to throw anakin in... playing on that if he won as a pilot she would want him to fly all of her races for her.. [10:23]

: So watto took the deal on the pod. It was a nice pod.. and though he loved Anakin's abilities.. he doubted the boy would beat Sebulba.. How wrong he was. Because Anakin had built that pod.. and he was racing for something other then his owner and himself.. he was racing to help Padme... and that's all that mattered to him while he was out there. It was a bit trying at times.. Shmi would cling hard to Ben every time something happened or nearly happend to her son.. but in the end.. he triumphed. [10:25]

: Obi was relieved... but he wasnt the first to hug the boy when he climbed out of is pod... Padme squeezed him tightly.. almost pouncing him [10:27]

: Anakin hugged her back, smiling brightly before cheering fans.. all shouting SKYWALKER.. carried him around on their shoulders. It was such a great day.. and he didn't know yet that he had gotten his freedom. But he also didn't know that there was someone on this world looking for Padme.. and was even now, getting ready to strike at the Jedi.. once they got closer to their ship. - After the race, Sebulba bought Anakin's pod racer.. and the boy proudly presented the money to Obi-Wan and Shmi. "Look at all the money we made from selling the pod racer!" He exclaimed. [10:32]

: "You did so well Annie" Obi said .. squeezing him tightly "I was a bit worried but I knew you'd be alright... I think your mother's life was shortened a little bit each time you had a close call.... but this money should cheer her up... one step closer hmm?" [10:33]

: He smiled, and slipped inside to tell his mom the good news.. before he knew of the even better knews. Obi-Wan was the first to learn it... the girl, Padme, had made sure to secure Anakin's freedom.. and the Jedi wanted to bring him along.. to have him tested at the temple... [10:34]

: Obi wan gritted his teeth slightly "I dont know.... " he said softly... "I will leave this to Anakin's decision... " [10:35]

: When Anakin found out he was freed he was livid! He was so happy to be free of his transmitter that it took him a few minutes to relize the Jedi wanted to take him. He clung to Obi-Wan and Shmi. "I... I don't want to go to the Jedi temple... it doesn't sound happy there." [10:37]

: Obi sighed "Annie.. you are right its not a terribly happy place.... but Ive taught you all I know... if you wish to be more you must go there.. and tolerate things for a while... they may not even want you... and then you can come home... " Obi told him.... against his better judgement... "I do not want your wonderful talent to be wasted... as mine was" [10:38]

: "Yours isn't wasted.." Anakin hugged Obi-Wan tightly, "One day I'll make sure you can see that too." He sniffled. "I'll go then.. I want to go with Padme.. is.. is that alright mom?" - Shmi smiled softly, putting a hand on Obi-Wan's shoulder. She didn't want to loose her son but she knew he needed to live more. And she did have Kenobi to look after. "You were always meant for better things Ani.. go.. be happy." [10:41]

: Cloud had returned from the ship at some time and told Holly what he'd found out.... something to report back and have kept an eye on.... a Rogue wasnt exacly a problem.... until they caused trouble.... [10:42]

: Anakin left with them... but he was upset.. he had to leave his lightsaber behind in Obi-Wan's care. After all, the Jedi wouldn't be happy to find a lightsaber in the possession of a nine year old boy.. especially not a red one. [10:43]

: "It will be here when you are ready for it.. " Obi told him "You may build a better on and forget all abou it .... but I will keep it safe" [10:44]

: Anakin had nodded, and kissed him and his mother on the cheek before leaving with Cloud and Padme. - They had just about reached the ship when a swoop bike came out of no where with a dark warrior on it. [10:50]

: Cloud frowned "This is not good at all.. " [10:51]

: Anakin and Padme got to the ship while the robed figure attacked Cloud with a red lightsaber [10:52]

: Cloud held him off as best he could... he was highly skilled with the Sabre.. but this one was quite good [10:53]

: Fortuantly, Holly ordered the pilots to pick her student up before the being could damage him. They took off into space before it could follow, the repairs completed. - Holly knelt at Cloud's side. "Are you alright my young Padawan?" [10:55]

: "I.. think so.. " he said... somewhat stunned.. "that was .. a sith... i almost thought it was that boy's father at first... changing his mind..." [10:56]

: Holly nodded, "That was indeed a Sith. I think it tracked us down looking for the Queen. We'll have to take this to the council right away. At least we're going back to Coruscant." She sighed, patted Cloud on the head for a momment before checking on Padme and Anakin. [11:05]

: "So I suppose they tracked us down..... to this planet.... " Padme said with a frown [11:06]

: Holly nodded. "Yes.. but everything is fine now. Everyone is safe." She smiled at what she still belived was a handmaiden and set course for Coruscant. - Anakin was shivering not long after they got into space. He hadn't relized how cold the Naboo ship would be. To him, it was freezing. To everyone else it was perfect. [11:07]

: Padme frowned "Are you okay annie?" she asked... puttiing a hand on his shoulder [11:08]

: "Just.. cold." He told her, shivering still. He managed to pull something from a pocket though. "Here.. I made this for you.. so you could remember me. It's a charm.. it will bring you good fortune." He tried to smile, but his teeth were chattering. [15:43]

: "Its pretty" padme said.. turning it over in her hands "you made this?" [15:44]

: He nodded. "Carved it for you." He smiled, glad she liked it. "You can wear it around your neck if you like." [15:48]

: Padme smiled and hung it around her neck "Thank you annie.. Im sure when we part we'll see each other again: [15:49]

: A smile tugged at his lips and he nodded a bit. "I don't have to go with the Jedi do I?" [15:50]

: "Not if you dont really want to... " [15:51]

: "You can come back to Naboo with me once its safe" [15:51]

: "I really don't want to... I... well.. they seem nice enough on their own but.. I don't really want to go to the temple. It keeps seeming so unhappy." He fiddled with his hands, trying to stay warm. "I'd like that." [15:53]

: "They will still want to talk to you Im sure [15:54]

: " padme said.. "they say you are unique" [15:54]

: He nodded a bit. "I'll... well.. I don't really wantr to talk with them. It kinda.. scares me. Any way I can slip away with you rather then them?" [15:58]

: "Why are you afraid of them?" [15:59]

: "Well.. my 'father' as you might consider him grew up at the temple and was thrown out when he was 13. He's such a nice man that I don't want to know what kind of people would do that to him." [16:00]

: "I see" Padme said "So he warned you of them?" [16:01]

: "Actually he said they could probably teach me IF they accepted me but.. just what he told me of them.. makes me not want to go." He rubbed at his arms, starting to feel a little warmer now. [16:04]

: Padme nodded "He seemed very nice.. but a little scared... I dont think he wanted you to go " [16:05]

: "I didn't want to go and leave them either.. I just.. well.. I need to see the galaxy.. and I need.. training." [16:11]

: "the jedi are the ones to train you though" [16:12]

: He let out a long sigh. "We will see." He told her, curling in his chair. He needed his rest before they got to Coruscant. [16:14]

: Padme found something to cover him with and smiled "Things will be alright.. you'll figure it all out Annie" [16:15]

: Anakin yawned, offered her a smile, and fell asleep once he was covered up. --- When they got to Coruscant, the group found the senator from Naboo there to meet them. The Jedi gave him a polite bow, which prompted Anakin to do the same.. before they went off to the temple to report on the Sith. and the boy... leaving Ani in Padme's care. [16:20]

: "So what do you want to do First annie"? Padme asked with a grin [16:21]

: "It's so HUGE here!" Anakin remarked, gazing around at the planet-city. "I heard stories of Coruscant but never expected quiet this!!! WOW!" He was very excited, which seemed to amuse the senator who was traveling with them along with the 'queen' and the other handmaidens. [23:43]

: "We should get you a nice bath and some new clothes.... then take you out and show you around before the Jedi interview you" [23:44]

: "Bath?" His eyes went wide. He seemed very excited about the prospect. He'd never had a bath before. Water was so rare on Tatooine.. not to be wasted on slaves.. especially not for luxieries. [23:47]

: Padme giggled "Do you mind Senator? I want to reward him for helping us out of our predicament" [23:48]

: The senator smiled. "Not at all, as long as the Queen does not mind." He knew that Padme was the real queen of course, but the 'bodyguard' nodded her head. "I do not mind" She said in a deap tone. - Anakin practicly bounced in his seat. Everything was so exciting. He nearly forgot he was going to go talk with Jedi. [23:54]

: Padme was a bit excited herself.. she got to play dressup with a cute little kid... and give him a good time.... she liked to see him happy [23:55]

: When they got to the senator's appartment the 'Queen' exchanged glances with Padme.. seeking her orders before saying "Make sure he's cleaned up and presentible for when the jedi arrive." Just for Anakin's benifit, before departing - Anakin grinned, looking up at Padme before he even got to see the senatoral bathroom. [23:56]

: "Come along.... Annie" She said "I'll run you a bath and you can hand me your clothes out so I can get you some new ones [23:58]

: "You are so nice to me." He told her, as if he hadn't done anything for her. Of course, just being free was more then enough reward for helping her out of a jam. He hadn't expected anything really. - He ran to the tub and peered in. "It's HUGE too. Is everything here so big?" [00:01]

: Padme frowned "Only for those who can afford it.... I disagree with the opulence somtimes... " [00:02]

: He nodded and watched in wonder is sparkling warm water poured out of the taps. "Wow." The appartment, though small by some standereds, were as large as his home on Tatooine. Perhaps even bigger. [00:09]

: PAdme went about getting a towel and other things together for him... setting them on a table by the tub "So what kind of things do you like to eat?" [00:10]

: By that time he was already undressed and climbing into the water, a bit shyly at first.. oddly more shy of it then of her. then he slid into the tub. Hey, if he wasn't going to let fear control him during the race, why would he now? - Looking up at her from over the rim he smiled a bit. "Anything!" [00:13]

: "Alright... I'll get something brought up here for us... I'll be in the other room for a few minutes so you get cleaned up" [00:13]

: He nodded, already playing with the water. It was so fasinating to him! He splashed it about a few times and laughed. As tallented as he was.. he was still a little boy with curiousity. [00:15]

: Padme shook her head.. he was so cute.... she didnt want him to go to the Jedi either... she knw they were good people but thy would change him... take away his boyish innocence [00:16]

: He'd never really had a chance to be a child before.. having been a slave.. now he was being treated well. Being waited on by a Queen! Though he didn't know she was one.. to him though it wouldn't matter.. to him he was being waited on by a beautiful angel. [00:30]

: She got them some nice coruscanti local cuisine, and some clothes that would suit him.... she wanted him to look good for the Jedi... even though he didnt want to go with them... it might soften their opinion on his father's wrongdoings....the Jedi were very strict about how their secrets were shared... the council was liable to be upset about unauthorized training [00:31]

: He was still playing in the tub, which was a bit grimmy from all the dust that had been caked onto his body.. when she returned. And there was water on the floor, as he'd clearly been splashing around. [00:39]

: "How bout we give you a quick Rinse and get you dried off? She said... setting the tub to drain an turning on the shower for a moment [00:40]

: He peered up at the shower and nearly squeeked, but he smiled as the water drenched him yet drained down the tub. "Rain!" He exclaimed, trying to climb to his feet. [00:46]

: "Its a shower Annie" Padme said with a laugh.... holding out a towel for him when he was done [00:48]

: He wrapped it around his waist after rubbing it over his sun-blonde hair and dried his chest. "we don't exactly have those back home. Will my family be able to have such things if they go to Naboo?" [00:52]

: "Yes, there is a lot of water on Naboo" [00:53]

: He smiled, now all clean... and smelling better then he ever had in his life. Of course, he didn't quiet notice that. "I want them to be happy.. I really do." He said, finnaly spotting his new clothes. "Wow.. are those for me?" He asked, running over to them while still holding his towel. [00:56]

: "Of course.... do you think they'd fit me? Padme said with a laugh as he got dressed" [00:57]

: He pulled on the clothes.. dark in color to help keep him warmer, and smiled as he turned around to show them off to her. "These are brand new?" He asked [01:01]

: "They look good on you, and yes... they are new... latest in fashion" [01:02]

: Hug hugged her tightly around her waist. "Thank you Padme.. thank you.. thank you.." He told her, practicly nestling in at her side for a momment before letting go and skipping out the door. His stomach was growlign and his nose was leading him to food! [01:04]

: Padme sighed.. such normal things were making this kid so happy [01:05]

: He didn't touch anything, he just stared at the food, pulling himself up into a chair as he waited for Padme. His legs swung back and forth.. but he wasn't about to start without her. [01:11]

: Padme sat... "okay annie... dig in.... take as much as you like" [01:12]

: He brightened yet again, pulling food to his plate and quickly starting to eat. If he got enough of this treatment soon he wouldn't be so small and skinny any more. He'd be more healthy. His mom was good to him but they never had enough money for propper meals... and he had been worked so much... [01:17]

: Padme giggled and took some food herself "Are you happy Annie? your life has been turned around..." [01:18]

: "Very much! Mom and Ben have enough money they can start new lives too. They don't have to live on Tatooine any more. They can go anywhere." He smiled, pausing in his eating to gaze out at her. [01:22]

: "Give me a few weeks... and I'll find them a place on Naboo" [01:23]

: "Once the fighting dies down and stuff?" He had heard the people talking.. about the invassion.. that was why the Queen had come to Coruscant. Though he hated the idea of Padme's world being in danger he knew if it hadn't been.. he wouldn't be here with her now.. so that made him slightly happy. [01:25]

: "Yes... it shouldnt be long the Jedi are working on things.. they are good mediators" [01:26]

: He nodded a bit. "I hope so." He whispered. --- Not long after he'd finished eating, the Jedi came and collected Anakin. The council was very interested in seeing this boy for themselves.. and that left Padme to get ready for what she came there for.. to talk to her senator.. and to address the senate and ask for help. [01:28]

: The trade federation had to be stopped.... naboo wasnt safe... and they couldnt let things like this happen.. they had looked the other awy in the past. now was not the time [01:29]

: The senator managed to convince her to help vote the current chancellor out so that the senate would ellect a stronger leader... meanwhile.. Anakin was a bit nervous as he was lead into the Jedi temple. Bits of fear clutched at his heart, standing between Holly and Cloud. [01:33]

: He was afraid for himself... for Ben..... but he put his best forward as they questioned him [01:33]

: Holly and Cloud were made to depart as the council put the boy through a battery of force tests.. all of which he passed beyond expectations.. dispite the fear that was curling in his heart. [01:36]

: The council was unsure how to handle this boy.... he'd been trained as a padawan.... by someone that shouldnt have .. to let him go would be dangerou [01:37]

: But it was clear the boy did not want to be there. His mind kept drifting.. not simply to home and family.. but the Padme. - After a while, Holly was called back in and she bowed before the council. "What is to become of this boy then?" She placed a comforting hand on Anakin's shoulder. [01:41]

: "we have to put him somewhere where the Dark ones cant find him.... it would be best for him to stay here even if he does not take on training... " [01:42]

: Anakin frowned hard at that. He did not want to stay there. He wanted to get out and see things. He edged a bit away from the hand on his shoulder, wanting to run but feeling that he couldn't.. not from the council that surrounded him. --- Holly sighed a bit. "This boy has been through a lot in his life.. he was a slave until recently... would it not be cruel to imprison him?" [01:46]

: "Then we need to find some other place for him to stay... where he will not be detected" [01:47]

: "Please.. let me go with Padme.. to Naboo with her." Anakin spoke up, swallowing his fear... not carring if he was talking out of turn. He did NOT want to be stuck there. [01:55]

: "Naboo is dangerous right now... you will stay here until it is safe for you to relocate" [01:56]

: Anakin sniffled a bit. He went from being a slave on Tatooine to being at the mercy of the Jedi. He knew he shouldn't have come here.. not to the temple. He should have run away. But mabye he could sneak out later. He was good at finding ways around things... [01:57]

: The Jedi chuckled "If padme will hve you in her quarters you may stay with her... " [01:58]

: Holly nodded. "sounds like a fair assessment. But I do not think they will being staying long. I sense that they wish to return to Naboo and find a solution to what is going on there." [01:59]

: The Jedi nodded "He may stay with her until then.. and we will find a place for him until they send for him... for now.... go ... we have other things to discuss" [02:02]

: Holly bowed and lead Anakin away. - The boy was quiet relieved to get out of there. It was worse then he had imaged it would be! --- When he returned to the senate building though he was told Padme had gone on an errond. He didn't know where... and it made him sad.. enough so he didn't trust his feelings that she was actually right there.. but.. in disguse another way as it were. --- so Anakin sat alone for a while... wondering what to do next... until that evening when he was told they were going back to naboo right away. Things were moving in the senate. an ellection would be held.. and their senator was one of the canidates for surpreme chancellor. [02:03]

: He wanted to beg that he not be left with the Jedi... he was terrified.... what if they nver let him go? [02:04]

: He would be worse then a slave.. he would be a prisoner.. never allowed to visit anyone. Never allowed to do what he wanted. It made him hate them deap down... and he kept thinking about it all the way to Naboo. Padme was watching over him even if in truth she had a lot on her mind. She had to make contat with the gungans.. and to do that.. no doubt her cover would be blown.. her body guard could no longer stand for her when that happend. [02:07]

: "Annie Im going to need you to stay put .... in the palace when we get to Naboo... alright?" [02:08]

: Anakin nodded. "I understand." He told her, walking through the swamp. "Do you really think the gungans will help your people? Are they also threatened by the TRade Federation?" [02:11]

: "This whole world is.. " [02:12]

: He nodded. "Then.. surely they will see the wisdom of aiding your people.. so you both can be free." He smiled, following the others till they met face to face with the Gungans.. where anakin learned the truth. Padme was no handmaiden.. she was the Queen of Naboo. This shocked him... the expression on his face was one of complete bewilderment.. but he knelt with the others as she revealed herself. - She had a good reason for keeping it a secret he assured himself... watching her conduct busness with the Gungans. [02:16]

: No wonder she was able to make promises he wasnt sure she would be able to keep... it was almost certain now that he and his family would be starting a new life on Naboo [02:17]

: That made him brighten. He was a little intimidated a bit by being close to her again.. but.. it was better then being near the two Jedi... Holly and Cloud made him more edgy then knowing Padme was a Queen. So he sat next to her as they took water transports to the capital city. [02:18]

: Padme patted his arm "Dont act any differently now that you know.... Im still Padme you know " She said with a smile.... she had noticed the boy's shock and awe [02:19]

: The boy nodded, his cheeks blushing a bit. "It's not right for a Queen to have served me. I mean.. it just.. feels strange to me now." Then he smiled, "Felt strange to me then anyway.. you are an angel Padme.. I know you are." [02:20]

: "I dont wish you to treat me like Im a queen though... its too formal... or an angel.... be a friend Annie... " [02:21]

: He nodded again. "Alright." He told her - Soon they were in the capital and the fighting began. Holly made sure Cloud was at her side as they headed for the launch bay. They needed to make sure that the pilots got to their craft so they could take on the control ship in orbit. that would stop the droids. [02:23]

: Against her better Judgement... Holly had armed him... he was skilled and he could be of great help to her [02:25]

: As they fought the droids in the launch bay.. a new threat emerged. That Sith that they had run into on Tatooine was there on Naboo.. he had been waiting for the two Jedi.. and Holly knew it was time to fight. She hated fighting.. but she was well skilled in it. Her only real mission was.. protect the Queen, and keep her Padawan safe. [02:28]

: She didnt know it would cost her her life in the end.... but she did keep things somewhat safe... [02:29]

: And her sacrifice let Cloud finish the Sith off... while Anakin oddly enough.. having been told to stay put.. found himself in the cockpit of a ship.. and wound up in the middle of the space battle. If not for him.. the droid army mighyt have whiped the Gungans out. [02:35]

: While they though thtey'd won... in reality they'd only opened the door for the Sith... to select a new apprentice.....or at least start buttering one up [02:38]

: Sidious might have raised Maul.. but it was out of nessisity. Maul had been useful.. cunning.. and violent.. but he lacked some of the things that the perfect apprentice would need. - After the battle, the Jedi council arrived for Holly's funeral.. as did the new surpeme chancellor.. Palpatine. - Anakin was well known to the people of Naboo for having saved them.. after hed gotten out of his ship his name quickly spread.. especially to the old man. But he didn't care about that right now.. he was worried about the Jedi being there. He wanted to cling to Padme but didn't think it was propper.. but he was terrified that the Jedi would take him away.. force him to live at the temple and never leave. [02:40]

: They did approach him about it... but he did not have to go... Padme stood by him wanting to stay [02:41]

: And Anakin was relieved. - He was hanging out in an empty room while Queen Amidala, known to him more or less as Padme, was prepairing for the celibration. He wasn't alone for long though.. the new chancellor had just come from the queen, after a short congratulations to them both. [02:45]

: "So... you are the young man who helped to save Naboo? How old are you?" He asked... he seemed kindly enough [02:47]

: The boy stopped what he was doing.. which was trying to go through a few simple lightsaber stances without a lightsaber, and looked up at the man. "I am Nine sir, almost ten." He smiled lightly. Clearly, someone had trained this boy in the Jedi arts... he already knew everything he needed.. things Sidious would be far too busy to teach any new apprentice... [02:50]

: "I see... quite skilled for a boy of your age... those are sabre stances arent they?... but you arent a Padawan" [02:51]

: Anakin winced a bit. "I.. well... please don't tell the Jedi. They seem upset enough at me for them to know I'm actually good with a lightsaber. At least that's what the one who.. uh.. trained me said. I'm not a padawan.. nor will i be one. They don't trust me for some reason.. and I don't care much for them." He frowned then. [02:51]

: "Why the distrust? The Jedi are good people..... was the one who taught you a Sith?" [02:53]

: Anakin shook his head. "No sir. He left the temple when he was thirteen. No master wanted him. We found eachother when I was five. He's a good man. I don't think the Jedi are good people Sir... they were not nice to him and they were threatening to imprision me just because I exist." [02:55]

: "I see.... do you seek further training?" [02:57]

: He nodded his head. - This was all to easy... and what was more... because Palpatine was now chancellor he could have this boy with him without question. Assign him duties... children his age, especially from poor families, could easily be picked to be messengers.. aids.. and the lot. And trained to be body guards and personal assistants. So easy to keep him close.. right under the eyes of the foolish Jedi. They didn't even suspect he was a force user.. let alone the Dark Lord of the Sith. - "I do want to continue my studies. My mentor thought they were very important." [02:58]

: "There are others like your mentor...s killed in the arts yet shunned by the Jedi.... I will help you, if you take up an apprenticeship under me... be an errand boy and in exchange I will show you things" [02:59]

: The boy gazed up at him, a bit confused at first. "You are a force user too?" He asked in a hushed tone. He was sure the Jedi didn't know. Then he swallowed a bit. "Would I be going back to Coruscant? Would I be able to see my family from time to time?" [03:03]

: The chancellor smiled "My home is Naboo... but yes we would be traveling back and forth a good deal... you would get to see your family little" [03:05]

: Anakin brightened. "Then I'd love to!" He told him. - There was still much to do.. to take him to Coruscant first before more could be explained.. a few tests perhaps.. then a propper name... and of course make sure he would keep it secret. Not simply from the jedi which he would surely do anyway.. but from everyone else - "I hope I don't upset Padme by leaving so soon. I want to be around her but... I know I need to use my gifts. My mentor always worried he was not getting propper use of his for not getting to finish his training." [03:07]

: "Yes ... it is a shame that those that have the ability are often turned away.... such a waste of power... the Jedi are too strict" [03:08]

: "I don't like them." The boy frowned. Infact, there were seeds of hate sewn into his heart for them. Not enough to make him kill.. not yet.. but in time... in time that hate could be guided not only into full bloom.. but to bare fruit. [03:10]

: "What is the name of your mentor?" Palpatine askd at last ... it ws something ot file away... in case he needd him in the future [03:11]

: Anakin frowned lightly. Obi-Wan asked him not to tell but.. to the chancellor.. to someone who was offering him an apprenticeship and a job.. it would be alright wouldn't it? "He goes by Ben.. but his name is Obi-Wan Kenobi. He lives with my mom... kinda a father to me." [03:13]

: "He should be commended for having taught you so well... but i am sure you were told to keep him a secret.. I suppose I will meet him someday... I hear padme is bringing your parents here to Naboo.. " [03:14]

: "Yes. But he'll be upset if he knows I told. I only told you because.. well... an apprentice should keep no secrets right? I didn't tell the Jedi.. they can't know." [03:15]

: "They probably do... and they may go after him.... Im sure he will be safe from them on Naboo.. " [03:16]

: Anakin made a wincing face. "No.. I don't want them to hurt him." He shivered, "He has to be kept safe.. he and mom.. have to be!" The boy was quiet passionate. That was a good sign too. Passions are what ruled the Sith after all. [03:22]

: "I will keep them under my protection if you wish.... nothing they will know of... just an extra set of eyes on them" [03:24]

: The boy smiled. This seemed great. His family would be kept safe from the Jedi who might threaten it. And he was going to learn more. Obi-Wan had been a wonderful teacher but as Ben had said, he'd already learned everything he could from him. He wondered what more Palpatine would teach. - It wasn't long before he was saying goodbye to Padme and explaining that Palpatine had offered him a job. He mentioned nothing fo the training though. He knew better then to say anything about force training.. especially where the Jedi might find out about it. thankfully.. they were already leaving.. having made Cloud a Knight in their order. [03:27]

: Cloud was both happy and sad... he wasnt sure if he was ready to be a knight... but he accepted it anyway... it would be to honor Holly [03:29]

: Holly had belived he was ready though... had spoken to the council before they left for Naboo about making him a knight. The battle with the Sith seemed to count for the trials. She had taught him everything he could learn from her.. but it was sad she was dead. But at least Naboo was peaceful once again. - After the celibration.. several ships left back for Coruscant. The Jedi and the chancellor with his new errand boy. [03:31]

: It would be nearly a month and a half before Anakin got back to Naboo... to visit his parents who had finally moved into their new home.... his mother looked vibrant... and Obi seemed quite happy too [03:32]

: The boy was making the trip with the chancellor.. and had been let off in the Lake country. He came in the door, calling out to them. "I'm here!" He announced.. though surely Obi-Wan had felt him from the momment he was in the area. [03:34]

: Obi practicaly pounced him... hugging him tightly then holding him at arms length "look at you... youve plumped up a little.. looks as if the chancellor's been treating you well" [03:36]

: The boy grinned. "I'm quiet well!" He had just turned ten, and was growing. "Corusant's great for learning and exploring new things! It's not pretty like here on Naboo but I do love it there. I'm never going back to Tatooine.." He paused, "WEll, unless I ever get a chance to free the slaves there.. but other then that." He was talking quickly, hugging Obi-Wan tight, then grabbing his hand to go off and find his mother in the home. [03:37]

: Obi smiled and followed him inside... Shmi was standing in the kitchen...which was almost as large as half their house... it was difficult for her to adjust [03:38]

: Anakin let go of Obi-Wan and ran to his mother, hugging her tightly. "I'm home mom! Came all the way from Coruscant to visit you. Wow.. this is bigger then our old house. How are you doing? Isn't it cold here? Do you like it here?" YEs, he was very excited. [03:39]

: "Yes dear its a bit cold... your father and I had to keep wrapped up a few days .. its much nicer now... I have a garden.... full of flowers... " [03:40]

: "Wow! Neato!" He exclaimed, holding her hand as he went with her to see them. - An hour later, he had finnaly calmed down.. and while Shmi was off making dinner for them.. he sat with Obi-Wan in the living room. [03:41]

: "So how are you doing Anakin?" Obi asked... "Ive been a bit lonely... missing working out with you.. " [03:43]

: "I've been doing well. I've missed you too.. but I knew you had mom to keep you company." He smiled, patting Obi-Wan's shoulder, "Still working on your skills I hope?" [03:44]

: "Yes... Ive been hoping to stumble across a new student... I almost bought one before we let Tatooine but I was afraid your mother would have a heart attack... " [03:45]

: Anakin giggled softly. "If you set someone free she would have been happy." He smiled, "I've been wanting to keep up with my blade skills.. but you still have my lightsaber." [03:45]

: "Would you like it back?" Obi asked... "I have it here.... " [03:46]

: "Can I? Please?" The boy smiled, hopping down from the couch, "I can keep it with me on Coruscant." [03:47]

: "Of course... but I ask you to keep your eye out for me on coruscant for new crystals... If Im going to teach another.." [03:48]

: He nodded. "Sure thing." - Soon, had his blade in his hands and smiled at it before fixing it to his belt. "I missed it greatly." [03:50]

: "Would you like to spar a bit?" Obi asked... "It would be fun" [03:51]

: "Wizard!" The boy grinned, darting outside where they could have space. [03:53]

: "Lets see if youve forgotten anything.... hmm?" [03:54]

: The boy smiled and pulled out his lightsaber before slipping into a stance. "Let's see if YOU have." He countered. [03:55]

: "Getting cocky now annie.. " Obi said... making the first move.. he usuall ly let the boy have the upperhand but he was feeling cocky himself.... he had enough food and water... and was well rested [03:56]

: And he had love... his life was looking brighter now. And Anakin was happy and free... though he was all the way on Coruscant most of the time. - Anakin swung his blade around, smiling a bit as he sensed Obi-Wan getting into it. "So you have." [03:58]

: "youve been working out dear boy.... I think you could best me if we were truly fighting... " [03:59]

: "Why would we ever do that? We're family!" Anakin laughed. He was enjoying himself with the blade.. in part something that Sidious had been teaching him. To let go and enjoy the momment. To focus the 'negitive' feelings.. fear.. hate.. anger.. use them to fight.. to be aware of everything around you.. but let passion rule. [04:01]

: "Even families have their spats.. but youre right... we should never truly fight.... promise me you never will... and I promise you the same" [04:02]

: "Never. I love you... and I know it would hurt mom if anything came between us as well. I could never hurt mom." He smiled - They didn't finish their sparring until Shmi called them in for dinner [04:03]

: Obi was panting ... and quite sweated... "You are quite good no Annie... I wish you had some sort of other training... its such a waste" [04:04]

: The boy nodded. "Don't worry.. I'll keep learning. Somehow or another." Anakin assured him, heading inside to get to the table first. [04:12]

: "Well hopefully next time you come by to visit I'll have a new apprentice for you to spar with... Padme has given me leave to train others if I wish" [04:14]

: "that's great to hear! I want to visit her too but.. I know she is too busy to see me.. maybe next time." He nodded, nearly bouncing in his chair. - He was quiet a brilliant boy.. so strong with the force.. but it would be a few years before.. Obi-Wan would begin to suspect anything about Anakin's 'training'. [04:17]

: "Are you spending the evening with us then?" Obi asked... he wouldnt see the boy for a few months at least... and he'd have a new apprentice by then.. nothing detracted from the time he spent with anakin though [04:18]

: Anakin nodded. "Yes. The Chancellor has given me leave until then. He is taking his own break... the pressures of the senate are vast.. but he's a good man and doesn't let it get to him." [04:19]

: "He doesnt work you too hard does he?" [04:19]

: Anakin shook his head. "After Watto.. I can handle anything." He grinned, "He's a good man. Don't worry.. I'm fine." [04:22]

: "Good good" Obi said... after dinner was done they went to sit out in the garden.. enjoying the cool and green... he loved it... after living on Tatooine for five years.. this was paradise [04:23]
