: Padme had finally gotten a break for a time.... of course she had to preside over a few events... but the rest of the time was hers.. [04:40]

: And probably the last person she expected to see.. but was probably delighted to see.. was waiting for her in the doorway to her 'throne room'. He was dressed in a black tunic with pants, and was smiling. Over the years he'd grown tall, taller then her infact. Kinda funny how he'd been about waist high or so when they'd met, and he now had to look a bit down to meet her eyes. And he was handsom... so breathtaking.... even if he was five years younger. He was sixteen after all. Practicly a man. [04:41]

: "Anakin... that is you isnt it?" She said almost teasingly.... moving over to embrace him "youve gotten so.... big" She said with a laugh [04:42]

: He chuckled a bit. It had been a year since they'd last been able to see eachother. Either she'd been too busy or he had been. - As she came over her hugged her tightly, and grinned. "And you've grown more beautiful." His voice was so soft.. it was practicly feminin. [04:44]

: "Im glad you came to visit... Ive been thinking about you lately... your father has been doing some public works projects for me and has been talking about how youve been getting promotions... " [04:45]

: "Keeping tabs on me?" He laughed, letting her go. "Tell me.. what have you been thinking.. My Lady?" [04:47]

: "Im thinking that youve become a highly respectable young man.... and Im jealous of the chancellor keeping you to himself all of the time..... I believe I may run for senate .. " [04:48]

: "Once you stop being Queen?" He slid his hands down to his sides, gazing at her. "I'm glad you think well of me. I hear how much your people love you. You're a wonderful ruler Padme." [04:49]

: "I want to do more for Naboo though... and more for people in general... I think the senate is a good place for me to go next... " [04:49]

: "I think so to. The senate could use more good people like you. Too many of them are corrupt." He sighed softly, turning from her for a momment, "I have to watch them line their pockets.. not much I can do.." [04:51]

: "Dont worry about it Annie... there is always going to be corruption in places like that.... all we can do is our best to counter it" [04:52]

: "The chancellor is a good man at least. He does what he can about the corruption. But I fear... things are stirring in the air." He paused, "But let us not talk about bad things. Let's focus on the good." He turned back to her. [04:56]

: "So... why did you come to see me Annie?" Padme asked coyly.. she had a cute little smile on her face as she looked at him... almost like she knew [04:57]

: "I need a reason?" He grinned. He just wanted to see her... because he loved her. He hadn't seen her in a year... and now.. things were going so well. "Come.. why don't we go see my family... I need to visit with them anyway." [04:59]

: "Alright... I'd like to check in on them as well.. see what they've done with the place Ive given them... " [04:59]

: So Anakin escorted the dressed down Queen of Naboo to Shmi and Obi-Wan's home in the lake country, dropping in unannounced and happily as always. [05:02]

: Obi gave them a hearty hug... "How have you been Annie?" [05:02]

: Anakin hugged him back.. now even taller then him. "I've been very good. I love what I'm doing. I get to travel all around when I'm not busy at the senate." He smiled. "Just like I always wanted.. to see the stars." [05:04]

: "Im glad youve found your peace Annie.... come... I suppose Shmi will have to cook a bigger batch of dinner" [05:06]

: Anakin laughed and then grinned at Padme. "I suppose you get to see them more then I do hmm?" [13:25]

: Padme smiled "I see Ben almost every day.. the days I dont see him I at least hear word from him about his projets.... he's been working with the Gungans a bit... " [13:26]

: Anakin clapped him on the shoulder. "That sounds wonderful." - Shmi smiled, glad to have her 'boys' together like this. And she knew as Obi-Wan did long ago.. that Anakin was clearly in love with the woman next to him [13:27]

: "Well... Annie why dont we go outside and have a workout before dinner? I havent had a good one in a while.. not one your level anyway [13:28]

: " Obi said.. smirking.... he never got to push himself with his current apprentice... she had good form but not much else [13:28]

: Anakin nodded a bit. "If you insist." He stood up, and smiled at Padme. "I hope you don't mind." [13:29]

: "No no.. go ahead annie... I'll give Shmi a hand in the kitchen... I dont get to do things like that often enough" [13:30]

: Shmi blushed a bit. She wasn't about to tell the Queen not to help out though.. after all, in this house.. those who wanted to offer aid could regardless of station. No one was too high or too low. --- Anakin moved outside with Obi-Wan, smiling at him. "How much practice you been getting lately?" [13:31]

: "A little.. " obi said... "not as much as I'd like really.. " He said... scanning the length of the yard and sighing [13:31]

: "Any new students?" He asked, his hands clasped behind his back as he peered about. [13:32]

: "Yes... I took a special trip and pi cked one up... sadly they are no subsitute for you" [13:32]

: Anakin grinned. "I should hope not.. but still.. you are a great teacher. I'd hate to see your tallents wasted." [13:33]

: "Im not being wasted teaching those in Need" Obi said... leading him around the corner ot the back of the yard... where his student was practicing Kata.... he chased her inside to go help Shmi before Anakin could make any impressions. [13:34]

: Anakin chuckled a bit. "She lives here I take it?" [13:35]

: "Yes... she means well but a bit clumsy... " [13:36]

: "She'll do alright." He smiled, "So let's see what your skills are made of these days." [13:37]

: Obi chuckled... and moved to a designated spot... he'd fixed up the place to have a sparring ring... marked off for dueling "Im assuming you are still progressing" [13:37]

: He nodded. "Couldn't let MY skills go to waste either.. now could I?" He grinned a bit. There were times he wanted to say something but... he knew Obi-Wan would be terribly upset... and besides, he had made a promise to his master.. and his master was keeping his family safe from the 'evil' Jedi. [13:40]

: "I only wish I could have taught you more... " Obi said.... bringing forth his blade in a smooth draw [13:42]

: Anakin could tell by intonation that this was also a lament that Obi himself did not know more.... he wanted to learn himself [13:44]

: "You taught me everything you knew." The boy replied. When he drew his hands back he had his blade in them.. was he keeping it hidden? It hadn't been seen on him before. [13:46]

: "That a new blade?" Obi asked... the casing was different.... "Finally got around to upgradign it hmm? [13:46]

: Anakin smiled a bit, igniting the crimson saber. "Been working hard... need to impress you don't I?" [13:47]

: "Red though Annie? Couldnt find new crystals? You sent me those yellow once which I was greatful for" [13:48]

: "I like the color." He told him.. which wasn't a lie.. of course, it wasn't the reason the blade was red. Soon he squared off against his old teacher.. his 'father' his friend... and it was clear he was very much holding back even as he was getting the better of the older man. [13:49]

: Obi could feel... that it was different too... the blade was different... when they clashed there was a different resonance.... this was a new red crystal... and one tied to the boy... it frightened him [13:51]

: Anakin had built not only a new blade.. but a new crystal. How the devil did he learn that? Not to mention.. he was good.. this couldn't all be self taught, could it? If that were the case he might have excelled passed Obi-Wan.. but not quiet at this level. - After the battle, Anakin put his blade away.. to apperently his hidden holster. [13:52]

: "Annie... who has been teaching you?" Obi asked slowly... moving over to a bench to sit, his blade turned off but the grip still in his hands... being fumbled about at the moment [13:53]

: Anakin sat down on the grass, gazing up at the sky.. seemingly trying to avoid his friend's question. "You taught me well... but my want to learn more doesn't die down." [13:54]

: Obi sighed "I .. cannot ask you to stop seeking knowlege... but I can ... request that you are careful in how you use it.. " [13:56]

: Anakin looked back at his friend. "I am careful. Don't worry about me. I know what I'm doing." He smiled brightly. - Yes he knew what he was doing.. his Master had made sure of that. Sidious had been teaching him well.. even taught him not to get upset when he was force to kill someone. That came in handy not long ago when a pair of Jedi had stumbled apon one of his dealings away from Coruscant.. [13:57]

: He could tell that Obi was upset about this... his father was far too observant at times.. he knew it wouldnt be long before he figured things out [13:59]

: He would need to leave his beloved mother and beloved Obi-Wan alone for a while.. hope that the man would become distracted and forget. Maybe Padme could help him with that. - Anakin stood up and patted Kenobi's knee. "Come on.. mom will be upset if we're late for dinner.": [14:00]

: "Yes... yes" obi said... rising and putting his blade on his belt... he was lost in thought... annie... his dear annie was a Sith... [14:01]

: The boy seemed happy and still full of light.. but.. that blade.. his avoiding questions.. He had fallen into the arms of the one person the Jedi were afraid of... but how.. was another matter. Clearly Anakin wouldn't speak of it. [14:03]

: It was very upsetting... Obi was withdrawn at dinner.... barely eating... he felt wrong... what had he done wrong? Where had he failed? [14:04]

: Anakin noticed Obi-Wan's mood a bit.. but Shmi noticed it more. The boy was more taken with Padme.. talking with her... clearly this was more then just simple infatuation for him. He loved her so much... he wanted to be close.. and nothing else seemed to matter. [14:05]

: Obi apologized and retired early that night... he was lost in misery again.... what if all those he taught.. wanted more... how could he continue? He could never fully train a student.... just leave them hanging at the end... [14:06]

: Shmi came into the bedroom soon after and put a hand on his shoulder. "What troubles you my love?" She asked softly, hating to see anyone distraught.. especially not him or Anakin. [14:08]

: "Nothing Shmi... nothing that I can do anything about... " Obi said softly... how could he tell her... that he'd set her son on the path he now followed... he'd lead him along and then left him to find his own way... and he'd sold his soul... [14:09]

: Anakin didn't see it that way though. After all, to him.. the Jedi were evil.. they were the enemy.. and what he was working for would be a benifit for all in the end. It is what he belived anyway. And he was treated well. The only thing that used to bother him.. was the nessisary 'evils' of having to kill. But he'd gotten over that. ---- Shmi rubbed his shoulder. "You seem worried about Anakin." [14:10]

: "All my worst fears have come true Shmi... " [14:11]

: Shmi sighed and slid her arms around him. She didn't understand really.. she saw her son as happy and keeping well. He seemed in love.. so what was worrying Obi-Wan? "Shh.. I'm sure it can't be that bad." She whispered. [14:13]

: "It is" he said softly.. hugging a pillow "I empowered him and they found him" [14:14]

: "They?" she asked, though something inside told her she didn't want to know. Instead, she kissed his cheek and moved around to sit before him. "I'm sure things will work out in the end. Anakin is a good kid. He can take care of himself." [14:15]

: Obi closed his eyes and curled into himself... he could do nothing... the boy would be consumed.... and even if Obi went to the Jedi for help... they would just kill Anakin [14:17]

: Jedi killed Sith... that was the order of things. To the Jedi, Sith could not be reasoned with. To keep them alive was to invite Jedi to fall into darkness.. to become Dark Jedi who would then serve the Sith. Like Dooku did. - None of this was even on Anakin's mind.. hell, he didn't notice how worried Obi-Wan was any more.. all there was.. was Padme. He was taking a walk with her around the lake, quiet at first, just watching her in the moonlight. So breathtaking.. so soothing.. [14:19]

: "Its so peaceful here" Padme said, "I grew up here but I never tire of the place..." [14:21]

: He smiled, nodding his head. "I love it here. It lets me relax..." He closed his eyes for a momment as they walked, "But I think it has more to do with you then anything else." [14:22]

: "You came here for me... more than you did for your family didnt you Annie?" Padme asked [14:22]

: He looked down and blushed lightly. "I hate to admit it.. but I did. I love my family dearly but.. I never get to see you... and, I knew I'd see them anyway so... I made sure it was you I came to visit." [14:29]

: "Im flattered Annie.. " Padme said.... slipping a hand into his "Im attracted to you too... I admit" [14:30]

: He looked down at her hand and smiled a bit as he gave it a squeeze. "I.. well.. I havn't looked at anyone but you." He was still a little shy. And it had nothing to do with her giving him a bath when he was nine. He'd grown a lot since then.. filled out and everything. [14:31]

: Padme chuckled "No need to be so Modest Annie.... " she said....s tanding on her tiptoes to give him a peck on the cheek [14:32]

: He turned his head a little and caught her lips before they could go away. "I... love you.." He whispered softly. [14:35]

: Padme was a bit surprised... to find herself the one melting.. she'd expected annie to do so with the peck.. but this was a kiss... all she could do was slip her arms around him and affirm that love ... it was just... right [14:36]

: "I... think of you all the time.." He continued as she slid her arms around him. Oh how he wanted this... to be with her. Who cared about their stations in life? All he wanted was her.. he could never stop loving her. [14:38]

: She was so nice and warm against him.... speechless... why hadnt she seen this coming.... cute little Anakin had grown up into a handsome young man..... and she found herself unable to deny that she'd thought of him often as well.. [14:40]

: He closed his eyes, soaking up the sensation of her in his arms. How warm she was... how he wanted to stay at her side.. but that wasn't possible right now. She was the Queen of Naboo and he had duties elsehwere. He couldn't ask her to leave it all behind for him.. and he was sure she would not want him to give up on his life for her either. But they would find a way.. he was convinced of that [14:40]

: Perhaps when she became a senator... and spent more time on Coruscant.. she ocould be with him [14:41]

: He eventually let go and took her hands in his. "I will never love anyone else... we.. have differnet lives right now.. but in a few years... can you.. do you.. think you can wait for me?" He whispered, looking into her brown eyes. [14:42]

: "I... Ive waited this long havent I?" Padme asked... her eyes where shining .... she looked happier than he'd ever seen her [14:43]

: He chuckled softly, his eyes mirroring her look. "And I have as well. I'm prepaired to wait for as long as it is nessisary..." He had never been this happy. Sure, he'd been overly excited and thrilled in the past.. but truely.. completely..happy.. this was the momment. And he was sure there would be even better ones in the future. [14:46]

: "Lets.. just enjoy this while we can .... Im sure you have to go back soon... and I have my duties.." Padme said... pulling him over to a stone bench by the lakeside [14:46]

: He nodded, getting down to the rocks. "I agree... We need to relax." He grinned, looking down into the lake. [14:48]

: Padme nestled against his side... they didnt even need to talk... just being next to him was enough [14:49]

: It was enough for him to. To be so close to his angel.. his love.. the person who completed him as far as he could tell. She brought peace and love and happyness into his life even beyond that of his family [14:50]

: He did not know .. or care for the moment that Obi was spiraling back downwards.. he hadnt craved alcohol in so long... but now... [14:51]

: Shmi was doing what she could. She didn't know why he was upset.. but it didn't matter... she would care for him.. and try to make him happy again. [14:52]

: Obi wasnt sure he could be happy again... he was a failure through and through... Failed at being a Jedi.. how did he think he could have made Annie one.... [14:57]

: Anakin hadn't even liked the Jedi after Obi-Wan told him what they had done to him. Perhaps that is why he wound up where he was now.. - The next day, Anakin came to say goodbye to them before he headed back to Coruscant. And as he was leaving, he questioned Kenobi about his mood. [15:01]

: "Its nothing Anakin" Obi lied... "Please have a safe journey" [15:01]

: Anakin frowned a bit. He could tell that he was being lied to. "If you say so... but please, you'll worry mom if you keep things to yourself." He pulled his arms around the older man and hugged him tightly. [15:03]

: "Its alright Annie... I love you... dont ever forget. " Obi said... squeezing him back [15:03]

: "Of course I'd never forget." He let go, "I love you too." He smiled, then left. He had to return to Coruscant.. his master would be waiting. [15:05]

: Obi withdrew completely after that.. he had to think of what to do.... of how he'd failed [15:05]

: Anakin didn't belive he failed... infact, were he to hear Obi-Wan using such terms he would have chasitised him for following Jedi dogma. [15:06]

: But to Obi he had failed.... Anakin was on the dark path... had probably killed.... and would likely kill again.... and there was nothing he could do about it... [15:07]

: The boy was elated though.. dispite Obi-Wan's sad mood. He would try to find a way to cheer him up in time.. or trust that Shmi would. For now, he was happy thinking that Padme loved him back. That in time they would be together. It kept him going all the way back to Coruscant. [15:09]

: "You seem awfully chipper" his master said when he returned "I take it you had a pleasant hoildaY?" [15:11]

: Anakin nodded, in the chancellor's office where they addressed eachother not as Master and Apprentice, but as the leader of the Republic and his aid. "Yes sir. I was visiting my family on Naboo.." He smiled then, "And the Queen." [15:12]

: "You fancy her dont you?" Sidious asked.. lacing his fingers "How did it go?" [15:13]

: "Very well.. she.. feels for me the same." He sat down in a chair close to the desk and rested his hands on his knees. "I am a bit worried about my 'father' though. He seemed upset about something not long after we spent some time together." [15:15]

: "Do you need more time off?" Sidious asked... he liked the fact that Anakin was getting in good with the Queen of Naboo... she was looking to the senate.. and it would be nice to have a voice like hers echoing his own sentiments.... People trusted and believed in her [15:16]

: "I'm fine for now. She's busy back on Naboo.." He looked about then grinned a bit, "My mission was successful by the way. A small problem cropped up but I was able to deal with it." [15:18]

: "Good .. good..." Sidious said... nodding his head.... he was pleased with anakin... so much more capable than any of his others. [21:26]

: Maul had been his only real apprentice before Anakin but it had been a good thing the boy was already trained in the basics.. or he might have wound up taking Dooku as an apprentice rather then simply using him to start a war. - Anakin was most happy to be appriciated. "What's next on the agenda sir?" [21:30]

: "I need you to become a public hero..... I wan you to assist in quelling some uprisings tha will occur." [21:30]

: A smirk pulled at his lips. "Sounds good to me.. even if blasters arn't much fun.. it won't allert the Jedi." He chuckled softly. A hero.. that would be a great thing. Maybe it would get Obi-Wan to stop worrying so much. [21:31]

: But Obi would not stop worrying.. or sinking... Shmi had to send his apprentice out hunting for him daily... he'd taken to wandering and she was afraid he would not return [21:32]

: After a few days like that.. Shmi sat Obi-Wan down on the couch, having sent his apprentice home, and wrapped her arms around him. "My love.. please.. we will have to talk about this. You seem to be hurting." [21:38]

: "I cant... do anything about it" [21:40]

: "Shhh..." She kissed his cheek softly, "If you can't do anything... you need to stop worrying about it. It only harms you... and me.. because it makes me worry about you in return." [21:41]

: "Anakin... is a Sith... there... are you happy? I sent him along this path... I did this to him.. " [21:42]

: Shmi frowned a bit. "A Sith.." She echoed. She knew of them.. from Obi-Wan. But what she'd seen of her beloved son didn't seem to fit. She just shook her head. "You know this for a fact?" [21:47]

: "He had a red blade... a crystal he made himself... you dont just... " [21:48]

: Shmi closed her eyes, being the steady rock on which Obi-Wan could rely. "If Anakin is what you say he is.. he made his own choice. You did not make him do anything..." She managed a smile then, "Remember, you couldn't tell that boy no even if you wanted to. He wanted you to stay with us.. and so you did. He wanted to race.. and he did. He wanted to help Padme, and he did. No one makes him do anything. He follows the causes of his heart." [21:53]

: "He will be a monster then... and I cant live to see that Shmi" [21:54]

: Shmi sighed again and took both of Obi-Wan's hands in hers, forcing him to look into her eyes as she gazed at him. "Ben... Anakin might do a lot of things.. but trust with me.. he will not be a monster. He is a good kid. He was born knowing the rightness of things. Born with compassion." [21:56]

: "I am quite sure he's already killed.. and will kill more... The boy who wept over killing a raider... " [21:57]

: Shmi kissed him, she knew he needed to talk.. to get this all off his chest. She would let him talk. "Then we must continue to be here for him. To make sure he knows he can always turn away from anything he doesn't like.." [22:03]

: "I cant.. look at him anymore Shmi.. " [22:03]

: "Tell me why then. So I might understand." [22:04]

: "The Sith lose themself... they can no longer distinguish right from wrong... only wha they must do... " [22:05]

: "And that makes you not want to look at him?" Shmi was hurt by the news, but didn't show it.. she was good at holding her own self in check when someone needed her. She couldn't go to pieces while Obi-Wan was like this. He needed her. [22:06]

: "I cant... I cant... Shmi I did this to him... I gave him a taste and he sought more.... you should have thrown me out .... let me leave.. " [22:08]

: Shmi pulled his hands to her chest, cradling them as she did Ani when he was a baby. "Ben.. listen to me.. you did not do this to him. He saught you out.. if not you.. he would have saught others out. In time, he probably would have ended up where he is now. It was his choice. We guide him how we can but in the end it is up to him. We can only trust that whatever he does, he keeps true to himself. As parents, it is up to us to remind him of that." [22:10]

: "He will turn against us .... " [22:11]

: "You worry too much." She let go with one hand and placed it to his cheek. "Have faith in him." [22:12]

: "Its not worry Shmi.... its knowledge....he's a murderer" [22:13]

: Shmi knew there was no sense in debating this with him. It did bother her though that Obi-Wan could say such things about Anakin... but she wasn't about to shun him for it. Obi-Wan needed her. Anakin might need them too but he wasn't there. So, she pulled Kenobi close and rocked him back and forth, making sure he knew that she loved him.. and wouldn't let him give into despair. [22:15]

: "Im going to send my student away permanently.... " he said softly... it was a joy to him to teach... but he couldnt make another like Anakin... leave them hanging when he could teach them no further.. [22:16]

: "She needs you Ben.. I think you should give it a few days of thought.. let yourself calm down... feel better. Then see if you still feel the same." [22:16]

: "She doesnt need to be made into a monster as well.. " [22:17]

: Shmi was about to object but sighed. Obi-Wan was almost as stubborn as her son. She had to trust that with a little love and some time.. He would eventually understand that he had nothing to do with Anakin's choices. [22:19]

: "I love you shmi..... and Im sorry for everything" Obi murmurred.... burrying his face in her chest... she was warm... comforting [22:19]

: "I love you too." She whispered, "But you have done nothing to be sorry of. Give it time.. I know you will understand." She smiled a bit, stroking her fingers through his hair. [22:20]

: "If I havent done anything then why are all things wrong [22:20]

: "I tried to explain.. but it is alright Ben... you will understand if you just give it time." She had faith in him.. and she was assuring him of this.. not forcing things down his throat. This is how she would deal with Anakin as well, if it came to that. [22:23]

: "It just hurts Shmi... that he.. would choose that path... he is happy with it.. [22:23]

: "I know... but he has his own mind.. his own heart.. he is a person.. not a pet.. not something you can force this way or that." [22:24]

: "He is nothing but a monster now.... beneath his shell of placitude... " [22:25]

: "He did not seem that way to me. Not with the way he was acting around Padme." [22:26]

: "You will see in time Shmi.. his true colors will show through.... and your heart will ache as mine now does" [22:26]

: "If that happens.. I know we will have eachother." She assured him. She didn't want to hurt like that.. but, she needed to find some way to bring Obi-Wan back to 'life' rather then this shadow of sadness he was in. [22:31]

: He was stubborn though... he wouldn eat... barely slept.... and she feared he'd go back to drinking [22:32]

: So she had to keep assuring him that they would get through this... that Anakin was still a good person even if he'd fallen in with something Obi-Wan didn't like. Personally, Shmi didn't understand about the Sith and what was so bad about them.. because she belived in her son. [22:38]

: She had to keep an eye on him.... for that reason alone she didnt let him send his apprentice away.... he was prone to wandering ... in thought... but she was worried he wouldnt come back ... he often talked about going away... [22:39]

: And that would leave her heartbroken. As much as she hated to admit it.. she needed him a great deal. Probably as much as he needed her. She might bring light and joy into the lives of others.. but he brought it into hers in return. [22:42]

: Obi did not calm down...... for a few months.. and by that point Anakin had become something of a hero [22:43]

: He had been instramental in some of the 'disputes' caued by various groups who were rummored to be wanting to break away.. and he was stopping it. It was only a matter of time before a war broke out. Probably a few years yet. [22:46]

: He didnt get much of a chance to visit his parents.... although his mother wrote him often about Obi [20:43]

: It was about the point that Obi calmed down a bit.... that the Jedi knight Cloud showed up.... he told them he had two objectives... to observe Obi's teaching style... and.. one of his own... to protect them from the witchhunt that was happening [20:43]

: worried that his beloved 'father' is still a pawn of the Jedi... worried that he might accidently betray him.. or become so decieved that he feels he has no choice but to betray Anakin [20:48]

: Shmi let Cloud in, hoping that somehow he could help Obi-Wan. But she was worried a bit inside.. worried about Anakin. She knew if the Jedi found out about his 'training' they would kill her son.. and she didn't want that. [21:02]

: Cloud sighed "Well... " [21:02]

: Shmi sighed a bit as well. "Tell me." She asked him. [21:03]

: "Im here on official business .. as well as my own.. " [21:04]

: "Ben is out back. Please, do not rile him up.. he's been distraught lately but he's doing better now." [21:09]

: "Tell me ma'am... he doesnt communicate much with the outside does he.. no interplanetary relays or anything? Im trying to protect him.... for some reason the council believes he may be involve with the Sith... " [21:12]

: Shmi sighed a bit, shaking her head. "He does.. not like the Sith." She closed her eyes [21:14]

: "I am sure he is not one of them... I have to prove it to the council.." [21:15]

: "Then I am sure he will be willing to submit. He does not even like the dark side of the force.. and belives that the Sith are murderes." [21:16]

: Cloud nodded... "If I may ask for quarter here while I make my report... it should not be long... and to tell you the truth I want to see how he teaches... I will be a master soon one day and.... Anakin has turned out quite well" [21:18]

: "He has had other students since my son. I belive he teaches well.. though he is sometimes a bit.. beliving he could do better. His skills only go so far in his mind because he was never apprenticed." She escorted Cloud to a guest room, gladdly giving him a place to stay [21:18]

: Cloud nodded "Really... you dont learn much as an apprentice as much as just getting field experience... " [21:19]

: Shmi smiled a bit. "Well.. he still is a good teacher for one who does not have field experience." She took Cloud's arm and took him around back to see Obi-Wan. [21:21]

: He was teaching his current student advanced stances..... and seemed a bit startled when Shmi brought the Jedi around... his first thought was that this was about Anakin [21:22]

: But Shmi gave him a smile, to make sure Obi-Wan knew it was not about their son. "As you can see. he is with his new student." She told him, patting Cloud on the back. [21:24]

: "Im just here to observe..." Cloud explained "The council has interest in your methods.... they have a general interest in rogue jedi period at this moment" [21:26]

: Shmi backed away and let them get to talking.. but she stayed in earshot.. just incase her son was mentioned. She was worried about Anakin... worried that Obi-Wan would become so despondent about what had happend with Anakin that he might turn the boy in. [21:39]

: "This isnt about any of my former students" Obi asked... instructing his pupil to do some warmups for the moment while he talked "They are all good kids... " [21:41]

: Cloud shook his head. "No.. not about any of your students." He tried to assure him, "The council has just asked me to observe. There are rummors that former Jedi and Jedi trained indivuduals are gathering and causing the recent disturbences." [21:43]

: "I worry about them. about what would happen if one of them got caught doing something..... bad" [21:44]

: "All masters worry about their students. Often it is their duty to go after their wayward pupil.. and try and turn them back before it's too late.. and do what must be done if needed." [21:55]

: "I worry... the most about mine I am sure... they have no guidance after me.... "" [21:56]

: "Do you need anyone to keep tabs on your students?" [21:58]

: "No... you cant keep tabs on him... " [21:59]

: Cloud blinked. "Him? you mean just Anakin?" [22:01]

: "Yes.. he is my main concern.. " [22:02]

: Cloud found that responce to be quiet disturbing, and he frowned lightly. "I think he works well for the chancellor. It's not often that someone trained in the Jedi arts is avalible to be body guard and personal representitive to the leader of the Republic." [22:03]

: Obi shook his head "his strengths are his weakness... he will do anything... if he thinks it will please someone .... " [22:04]

: "that is dangerous.. but.. well.. he did save us during the federation blockade.' [22:06]

: "He hates you.... the Jedi.... and thats my fault.... " [22:06]

: "That's not a good sign..." Cloud frowned again. "But I guess.. since the council threatened to imprison him for no reason when he was nine..." [22:10]

: Obi sat down on the bench.... watching his student quietly for a time "I should stop I suppose... Im only creating future monsterS" [22:12]

: Shmi headed out then and put a hand on Cloud's shoulder. "He doesn't mean that.. really." She whispered to him, trying to get him to come back inside. [22:13]

: "You know I mean it Shmi... I only put these kids into worse danger than they had before.... I teach them to use what confuses them... but they always want more than I can give.. [22:14]

: After Shmi got Cloud to go back inside, she sat down next to Obi-Wan. "Shh.. Ben... please..." She didn't argue with him.. she just wanted him calm. [22:16]

: "I should tell them Shmi. " [22:16]

: "They will kill him.." she said softly, "Your words." [22:18]

: "He will slaughter them all if I dont... " [22:19]

: "He will hate you if you do..." She put a hand to his cheek. "And if he is simply lost.. we can help him find his way back. I do not belive it is too late. There is love in his heart.." [22:29]

: "I cannot take any more killing" [22:30]

: "The choice is yours.. my love. But please know.. it will be betraying him.. " She kissed him softly, "Could you live with that?" [22:30]

: "No.. but I cant live with what Ive done to him either... [22:31]

: She pulled her arms around him, rubbing his back. "If you can't live with either... please.. keep quiet. There is still hope for him.. I belive there is. I ask you not to take that away." [22:42]

: "I.. will try Shmi... it just upsets me to be under scrutiny" [22:43]

: "I can send him away if you like.. I do not want you to be upset. I don't want you to be driven to doing something that will probably kill you in the end." She put a hand over his heart. "I know in time you will understand." [22:44]

: "No... no.. if it will make them see that I am not a bad person.. " [22:45]

: "You arn't." She assured him, kissing his cheek before standing up. "Come... I will make dinner.. and you two can talk over that." [21:23]

: Anakin was happy... Padme was coming back to Coruscant. True, she was working on a bill.. had been for the last year.. that was to try and defeat the military creation act.. but he knew events soon to follow would make it null and void. He was happy.. because he would get to see her. He was already waiting in her appartment with 'gifts' of sorts when she arrived with her enterage. - He grinned wide, "Hope you don't mind.. let myself in.. wanted to suprise you." He told her, glad she looked well. A few months ago the Trade Feds wanted to assassinate her but he had threatened Dooku into keeping them in line... warning him if anyone came after Padme.. he would take it out on the dark Jedi as well. [21:31]

: "no, not at all... its been quite some time since Ive gotten to see you... " Padme said with a soft smile.. moving over to him [21:32]

: He wrapped his arms around her, hugging tight. "Mmm.. glad you're not upset... I know it's hard lately. Some of the Chancellor's policies you're not fond of.. you're opposing them.. but that doesn't mean anything to me. Unless you're planning to assassinate him it's none of my busness." He beamed, giving her a soft kiss. [21:33]

: Padme chuckled "While I would love to.... I dont work like that"... she rested her head against his chest and sighed softly [21:34]

: He laughed a bit, stroking his fingers through her hair. "Mmm.. you better not.. or else I'd have to defend him.. it's my life after all. Just as politics are yours." He watched her enterage moving off and was glad to be alone with her again. [21:38]

: "You'd choose him over me then?" Padme asked.. putting on a pout "I suppose then politics will come before you... " she teased [21:39]

: He laughed a bit and moved to sit down on her couch. "I just wouldn't want to be put in such a possition is all. Either way I choose I'd be loosing something." He grabbed her her hand, trying to pull her close to him. [21:41]

: Padme let him.... there was nothing more at this moment that she wanted than to be close to him... she missed him... and had been worried about him [21:42]

: He rubbed her back. "I take it your back here for the vote." He said softly, "I just hope whatever happens.. you'll still want to have dinner with me and such." [21:46]

: She nodded "I want to spend time with you.... I dont get it very often" padme snuggled up against him... closing her eyes "You make me feel like everything is alright.. and I can just be me for a while... not some face paced politician" [21:47]

: He kissed her softly, holding her in his arms. "I feel the same way.. about you." And it was the truth. He could forget about his real life for a while.. that he was a Sith Apprentice.. the body guard for the chancellor.. and the rest. He could focus only on her... on how much he loved her. [21:48]

: "I dont think this bill is going to pass" padme said with a sigh "If a war comes thats going to be even less... " [21:50]

: "I fear that a war will be enevidble. We need protection... if the Republic can't defend itself then where will we be? There arn't enough Jedi to protect everyone. But I do understand your point of view. You would rather find a diplomatic solution to this sepertist problem. If only that were possible." [21:52]

: "This whole thing has been a mess.... Dark Jedi.. seperatists... poor Ben was suspected you know... he had a Jedi camped on his doorstep for nearly a year [21:53]

: "Ben has nothing to do with it. I'm sure of that. He's a good man... I know you know that too." He carressed her flesh then smiled down at her. "So... dinner tonight?" [21:54]

: "Sounds good.. something out? or do you want me to have something nice made here?" [21:55]

: "I would suggest here.. only because I don't want to damage your carrer right now by being seen with me. Only problem with our possitions... but I love you and don't want you to change. I know you are very passionate about your beliefs.. as am I." [21:57]

: Padme smiled and stroked his cheek "I wouldnt care what they thought.... but yes... you are right... I'll have my cook make something nice.... perhaps some good wine... and have the place empty for us.. so we can be ourselves" [21:58]

: "Then... tonight." He slid out from under her and got off the couch, "I have some busness to attend to... but I will be here by the time they refocus the orbital mirrors away from this part of the city." He told her. [22:03]

: "I will wait as patiently as I can" padme said ... standing to hug him once more before he disappeared [22:04]

: Yes, there was work to be done. Sith work... things to draw the Jedi into a trap on Genosis.. to start the war. But first they needed a scape goat. [22:15]

: Cloud was trying to meditate... and keep an eye on the senator Shinra.... it was difficult being there.. he'd heard of the young man's reputation.... but even on a Jedi [22:16]

: Rufus was pacing back and forth in his living room, several appartments down from the Naboo. "I lost one ship already today.. and all you can do is sit there?" [22:24]

: "would you like me to take on their entire fleet by myself sir?" [22:25]

: "It wasn't a fleet! It was a loan assassin! Find them.. deal with them." He sighed, shaking his head as he walked over to Cloud. "Come on.. do more then just sit there.. I need company. Most of my enterage was killed." [22:26]

: "The best thing I can do for you is to sit here and watch over you.. if I go out looking for an assasin that will leave you unprotected.... as for company... I dont know what to talk about really... " [22:27]

: He groaned a bit and headed out onto his balcony. "You're hopeless." He mumbled, "If you wern't pleasent to look at I'd be completely bored." [22:28]

: Cloud rose and followed him "Well you know I really dont know how to keep pleasant company... " [22:29]

: "Are all Jedi like you?" He leaned on the balcony railing and sighed a bit. "Why is only one of you watching me anyway? Don't you guys work in pairs?" [22:30]

: "My master was killed and I was never given an apprentice... I am a bit of a loner I suppose... they send me on missions to watch people... like you.. " [22:31]

: "Must be a sad life... I hear your Jedi arn't allowed to love.. to marry.. to even get into your physical needs." [22:31]

: "No... we arent.... althought I loved Holly to a degree" [22:32]

: "Raised practicly from birth at the temple so I hear. " He turned towards Cloud. "Ever not enjoy it?" [22:33]

: "For a while after Holly died my life was a bit pointless... but I came around.... they do not let members of their group slip away like that" [22:35]

: "Well.. at least they spared SOMEONE to protect me. You Jedi defend the REpublic.. and I am a part of the Republic." [22:35]

: "There arent enough of us to go around you know.... especially since several have died in the past few years...." [22:36]

: "The sepertist movement? I fear there will be a war soon.. that might destroy the REpublic." [22:39]

: "Yes.. that is what we fear" [22:39]

: "Not enough of you Jedi left to protect everyone I'd imagine. I guess that's why the chancellor is trying to create an army." [22:42]

: "I believe in some ways we do need an army.. but not one controlled by him... [22:42]

: "You do not trust the chancellor?" [22:43]

: "No... not at all... " Cloud said.... frowning "Not at all.." [22:43]

: "Why not?" Rufus didn't care much for the chancellor either.. but mostly because he seemed.. too nice. [22:43]

: "From my time spent with someone... he was afraid fo him... to a degree... and his own son... who works as his bodyguard" [22:45]

: "Ah.. well.. that bodyguard of his is scary. I don't care what good he's done for the Republic against the sepertist movement.. I've heard he is good for intimidating senators.. and rummored he's even behind the assassination of one last month. But I don't think he's behind the attemps on my life." [22:45]

: Cloud shook his head "I have my suspicions... but I cannot make any accusations... lest I endanger myself and others" [20:28]

: Rufus turned towards him, frowning a bit. "Suspicions?" He ventured. Oh this was too good. He wasn't going to let the Jedi get away with not telling him more. Hell, maybe he could find a way to make a profit from this. [20:29]

: "You want to hear my view of things?" Cloud asked leaning against the railing of the balcony "Its not going to be pleasant" [20:30]

: "Yes. Tell me. I want.. no.. NEED to know since you're bringing it up is proof you need to vent or something." [20:30]

: "Ive already told the council... they dont believe me." [20:31]

: "What did you tell them?" Rufus tapped his foot in annoiance. [20:41]

: Cloud smiled "First.. I spent nearly half a year with Obi-Wan Kenobi.... a fallen Padawan thats been training rogues ... he does a good job... but from his reactions to my presence I could only conclude that his Son is up to no good... the guardiand of palpatine is a Sith" [20:42]

: "And the council doesn't belive this why?" Rufus had heard a little of the Sith.. heard they were the enemies of the Jedi... and if the Jedi were 'good' the Sith were therefore 'evil'. [20:48]

: "Because my accusations... go further than that... " [20:49]

: "Go on." Rufus folded his arms over his chest and just stared at Cloud now. [20:51]

: "Palpatine is his master.... thats why he guards him so zealously... and I can name several other senators I suspect" [20:51]

: "Wouldn't that make the Jedi upset? If their mortal enemy controlled the Republic they defend?" [20:53]

: "Yes but it would be a move against the entire Senate to go after these people" [20:54]

: "I would imagine your order is trying to figure things out quietly then.. rather then turn the senate against them. Could you imagine what would happen were that to occur?" [20:56]

: "It would give the Sith a reason to whipe us out [20:57]

: "Thus the caution of your order." The senator shrugged. He didn't exactly care about the Jedi or the Sith.. to him they were just two halves of a politcal mess.. two different idiologies that oppose one another. [20:59]

: Cloud nodded "I think the Senate is Rife with the darkside and its supporters... the only one I am able to definately say is Arcadia though" [20:59]

: Rufus rubbed his chin. "I have no idea who that is. Too many senators you see.." [21:05]

: "Pompous... Red hair... acts like his own offal doesnt smell" ... Cloud said... "We're in for a rough ride" [21:06]

: Rufus chuckled and headed back inside, away from the balcony. "Sounds like you've had some dealings.' [21:08]

: "Hmph... yes... I was asked to investigate a situation on one of his worlds.. " Cloud said , moving after Rufus "Not cooperative at all" [21:09]

: "Didn't think Jedi could get riled up like that." He laughed, relizing there was more to Cloud then the typical Jedi attitude. [21:09]

: "I drifted a little when Holly died... Im still a Jedi... but Ive seen some light" [21:10]

: It was just after they left the balcony that something exploded outside.. just missing the spot where they had been standing. [21:11]

: Cloud grabbed Rufus and pushed him further inside "Didnt see that coming. " [21:12]

: Outside, a probe droid was hovering, ready to take another shot at them. "Great.. why didn't you sense that?" [21:12]

: "I told you Ive slipped a little. " Cloud said .... pulling out his blade "Get back" [21:13]

: Rufus frowned as the probe shot at them.. thankfully being deflected by Cloud's blade. It then started to fly off.. clearly back to whoever had sent it [21:15]

: "You want me to follow it or stay here and watch after you? Whatever you feel safer with" Cloud said... [21:15]

: "Follow the damn thing! It tried to kill me!" Rufus said with a huff. [21:19]

: "Fine fine... have it your way" Cloud said... leaping off of the balcony onto a passing vehicle to follow.... he hated this sort of thing [21:21]

: While poor Cloud was being made to chase down an assassin, Anakin was making his way back to Padme's appartment, smiling a bit from the glass elevator as he saw the 'chaos' a few floors bellow. Everything was going as planned. And now he was about to have dinner with the woman he loved. So, straightning himself out he stepped out of the lift and called out for her. [21:48]

: She was waiting.... and smiled "Annie... earlier than I expected... although I could have sworn I heard something.. " [21:49]

: "I think there's some fighting going on a few floors bellow. Nothing to be worried about. I'm here." He beamed, moving to her and kissing her hand politely. [21:51]

: "Another assasination attempt? " Padme said with a frown "There has been too much of that lately.. its upsetting" [21:51]

: "I think it has to do with the sepertists.." He shook his head, letting go of her hand. "But don't worry.. I will keep you safe.. just like I keep the chancellor safe. You have my word on that." [21:57]

: She nodded and snuggled against him tightly "Im glad youre here.. Dinner is waiting if your ready" [21:57]

: "I am ready." He smiled, hugging her as they walked to the dinning room. "I thank you for this.. the honor of your company My Lady." [21:59]

: "You honor me with your company more... you are so busy all of the time" Padme said ... taking his hand and squeezing it lightly [22:00]

: He chuckled a bit. "Ah but you are more important then I am.." He teased, sliding into a seat as he squeezed back. [22:04]

: Padme sat next to him "So... we're back to this..... " she said with a chuckle... remembering how he'd consumed the food with great gusto as a child [22:05]

: "That we are." He grinned, picking up a piece of fruit and offering it to her after cutting it. "But now I know what it is that I feel for you." [22:06]

: "You arent so much of a confused little boy anymore..... perhaps just a less confused young man" Padme teased... taking the fruit [22:07]

: He chuckled, cutting a slice for himself. "No.. not confused... just so inlove." He turned, popping it into his mouth before he smiled at her. [22:08]

: "Were do you want to take this Annie... Marriage? I dont know if Im ready for that quite yeT" [22:08]

: He blushed slightly and turned back to his plate. "I just want to be with you... when I'm around you... I feel so happy.. so complete..." [22:12]

: "You make me happy too Annie, in fact there is noone I'd rather be with right now... or ever [22:13]

: He turned to her again, his face lit up in a smile.. though a far more mature one then ten years ago. "It makes me so.. happy.. to hear you say that." [22:15]

: She smiled "Ive been thinking... on it all night since you left... I never realized.... youve been this way towards me since we first met.... and I think its right" [22:16]

: "You are my angel Padme... I've been in love with you since I first saw you. You bring light and joy to those around you... serve your people selflessly... I want to be there for you when you have time for yourself and your own needs." [22:19]

: "I dont know if I ever will have time for myself" [22:20]

: "Doesn't matter.. I will find a way to be there for you when you do." He lifting a hand to stroke his fingers lightly against her cheek before becoming engroased in their dinner. [22:30]

: Padme poured him some wine and watched him eat... dining herself.... she'd gotten some fine cooking... .it was excellent [22:31]

: He was used to various fine meals. After all, he was the 'assistant' and 'bodyguard' to the supreme chancellor. But he enjoyed this meal so much more. - Taking a sip from his wine, he continued to smile in her direction. Everything was so.. perfect.. when he was around her. [22:32]

: He was never going to let this change.... as long as she would ave him [22:33]

: It's too bad Obi-Wan couldn't see him like this.. the poor man was convinced of jedi dogma that Sith were evil and the dark side destroyed all real emotion. Anakin geniunly LOVED PAdme though. He would give his life for her if required. And wanted to be with her always. [22:35]

: Obi just didnt understand him at all.... he rarely got to talk to him anymore... it wasnt that he didnt care he just hated to hear about how his father was doing [22:37]

: so he more or less comunicated with him through Shmi... avoiding any mention of the dark side... just asking how each was doing.. and so forth. Kinda sad really.. Anakin missed his conversations with Obi-Wan. [22:38]

: He missed the openness.... and the sparring.... he was afraid to even visit now... Shmi had said her husband was quite involved with his current student.... neglecting her a bit [22:39]

: He hoped things would sort out... maybe once the war started.. but that might make things even worse. - But Anakin didn't let it trouble him during dinner.. he was with Padme. she chased his worries away with love. [20:31]

: Cloud returned to Rufus' quarters... weary from chasing the droid.... he had a piece of it tucked under his arm .... and he surveyed the damage... "I knew this would happen" he said with a soft sigh. Rufus was gone... kidnapped he supposed... [20:32]

: Anakin had seen to that. He'd made sure that clues were left behind.. to lead the Jedi first to Kamino... then to Genosis... to leave Dooku to deal with them. [20:33]

: He wanted that Jedi silenced.... he knew his father had perhaps unintentionally told on him... Cloud knew about him... and Palpatine [20:35]

: But really.,. it was all a trap. It didn't matter if Cloud lived or died.. he would be the trigger for the war to come. The Jedi would go after them... with their new army. And this new army would be battle tested for a few years against droids... while slowly luring the Jedi away... so that when order 66 was given the masters were away from teh temple being slaughtered.. and HE could deal with the padawans and minor Jedi that were left behind. [20:45]

: Cloud was somewhat stunned by what he found.... this army by order of Palpatine? This wasnt likely good... [20:46]

: And what was worse.. the bounty hunter seemed to be working both sides.. since they were using his DNA for a template but he seemed to be working with Dooku to assassinate Rufus.. or rather.. abudct him. Cloud managed to track him down on Genosis and managed to contact the Jedi council about the army of clones and the location of the sepertist army before he himself was captured. [20:50]

: None of this was good.. none of it at all.... he had time to work things out in his head during his capture... [20:51]

: Dooku, a former member of the Jedi council, and now a dark Jedi, hadn't said much to him.. only that he was to be executed for tresspassing.. and that the senator was a 'gift' to the comerce guilds and would be joining Cloud's fate in the arena. [20:53]

: He did not see a way out of this... and it was unlikely that he would be rescued in time..... lovely... he was going to be eaten alive.. [20:53]

: Rufus groaned as he was fixed to a collom by a group of chains. He turned towards Cloud. "Anyway out of this?" He asked. [20:55]

: "Not Likely.. sorry it has to end this way... makes me almost sorry I wasted all of my life.. in a way" [20:55]

: "You think you wasted your life as a Jedi?" Rufus asked while the horns started to blow. [20:57]

: "Perhaps... now that I know the truth theres no chance for them....b ut they wont listen...." [20:57]

: Rufus twisted a bit against his chains. "I'm not ready to go to the force yet.." He bit his lip. [21:00]

: "Just relax... struggling wont make it any easier... " Cloud sugested [21:01]

: Rufus hung his head, sniffling. "What will relaxing get me?" - Two large creatures were being forced out into the arena now. [21:02]

: "Well struggling and yelling will just entertain them" Cloud said.... testing the give of his bonds.. it didnt seem like he could move much [21:03]

: "Ok ok.. you have a point." Rufus tried to calm down, but he wasn't sure how to get out of this.. and that giant crab-like creature looked HUNGRY [21:07]

: Cloud closed his eyes.... he had to try and get away.. he wasnt allowed to lie down and die... and he had to tell someone what he knew [21:08]

: Thankfully.. it was about then that the calvery arrived. Jedi flooded into the arena and came to the aid of the two set there to die.. thus saving their lives. [21:10]

: Cloud was so relieved he almost Hugged Mace.. [21:12]

: Master Windu was a bit too busy to be hugged though.. and soon they had problems.. the droid army. Jedi died left and right.. and were hearded about to be executed by Dooku.. but when all hope seemed lost again.. Master Yoda arrived with the clone army.. beating back the droids and rescuing the surviving Jedi. [21:13]

: Cloud had been shielding Rufus through most of this ordeal.. it was still his mission to protect him... the Clone army... was a relief... and a bane... [21:14]

: The Jedi persued Dooku.. but he got away.. escaped somewhere... - And while Cloud and Rufus were being returned to Coruscant, Anakin was busy consouling Padme over the trumping of the bill she had been trying to get voted in. The army was created... because the chancellor was given emergency powers to combat the sepertist army. [21:31]

: Things were getting bad.... at least from Cloud's perspective... if the Jedi didnt heed his warning he'd have to seek employment elsewhere... he did not want to be around when the blade fell [21:32]

: The Jedi refused to belive him though.. especially since if not for the clones.. they would have been wiped out and the Sith could have easily moved on them.. at least that's what they belived.. not relizing the Sith wanted more then just their destruction.. but the REpublic completely under their control. [21:34]

: "I must offer my resignation.... " Cloud then told the council "If you will not believe that Dooku works under palpatine... and that this war is a way of Palpatine getting control without ruffling too many feathers.. " he was not afraid of letting the council know how he felt.... they were being fools in his opinion [21:34]

: in the end.. they accepted his resignation.. though they were sad to see him go. Cloud Strife.. once the Padawan of Holly.. was no longer a Jedi [21:36]

: He felt a bit foolish himself as he sought out Rufus again... he'd have to construct himself a new blade... having been required to give his up as part of his leaving... worse came to worse he could go help Ben Kenobi in his efforts.... teach him what he was missing perhaps [21:37]

: Rufus hugged Cloud the momment he saw him.. actually thanking him for saving the senator's life. [21:38]

: "Would you be needing a Bodyguard?" Cloud asked.... returning the embrace lightly [21:39]

: "After what just happend.. yes I do..." Rufus ran some fingers back through his hair. [21:41]

: "From the way I see it ... things are going to get a bit hairy .. its not going to be good... and you'll likely need me to stay safe through it" [21:41]

: "What about the Jedi?" The senator asked, frowning slightly. [21:42]

: "They may not last.. I got out while I still could... I feel a bit bad about it but they would not believe me.. " [21:43]

: "You resigned? Wow." Rufus smirked a bit, "I guess I should be flattered. A former Jedi for a bodyguard." [21:48]

: "Yes... and I offer you my services... the only thing I ask for is harborage" [21:49]

: "Alright. I could use a bodyguard.. especially a Jedi trained one." He beamed. [21:49]

: Cloud smirked "Good then" he said.. putting out his hand [21:51]

: Rufus shook it - Elsehwere... Anakin couldn't be more privately happy about how things had turned out.. even if Dooku got to have a private audidence with his master about how things went. [21:57]

: Things were going well.... extremely well [21:57]

: If only Padme wasn't upset. He knew she hid it well, but he could sense she was upset over the war. He wanted to give her more comfort.. but it was a hard thing.. because he was happy about the war. [22:01]

: It had broken her heart in a way... she did not know what to do [22:02]

: So he did his best to try and comfort her.. promising to always be there for her.. to love and protect her no matter what. [22:08]

: Padme frowned "There is only one more step to the chancellor gaining total control... " Padme said with a sigh [22:09]

: Anakin didn't want to say anything. That was the plan after all.. to create an empire.. and he didn't want to lie to her. But he also couldn't tell her the truth. So instead, he pulled his arms about his love and kissed her cheek, letting her speak her mind. [22:14]

: "I dont know whats going to happen... a Senator will mean nothing if this becomes an empire.." [22:15]

: Anakin sighed softly. "The people will always be important Padme.. and nothing can happen without the approval of the senate.. which is made up of the people." [22:19]

: "If there is an emperor then that will all fall apart... " [22:20]

: Anakin relized there was nothing he could do to reassure her in that momment, and the more he spoke the more he might accidently push her away as it became clear he wanted to change the subject. So instead, he held her in his arms... and listened to it all.. no matter how much it hurt him deap inside. It would be hard.. but he convinced himself that she would find a way to be happy once the empire came.. he would FIND a way to make her happy [22:30]

: But she was sad at the moment... and worried.. about everything.... the Jedi that had died.... the kidnapping... [22:30]

: Even thoughi t was all over it was frightening [22:32]

: The war would be far from over.. it was just begining.. and Anakin was in the middle of it. But he was determined to keep Padme safe. - Only a few months in one of the groups of sepertist forces attacked the Moon of Naboo and threatened to poison the whole world. Of course that bit was out of the Sith's control but the Jedi took care of the problem. however, it had upset Anakin so much with worry for Padme and his family that he flew back there as soon as the Jedi had mopped up the area. [22:35]

: When he found himself back at home.... Obi was puttering about in the kitchen, not something he normally did... he was surprised to see Anakin... very surprised. [22:36]

: They hadn't directly spoken in a few years.. and Anakin had missed him quiet a lot. He had to restrain himself from pouncing the older man into a hug. Instead, he managed a smile. "Hey.. I. came to see if you guys were alright." He managed. [22:38]

: "We've been alright" Obi said with a small smile "Shmi wouldnt let me go help... " [22:39]

: "I'm sorry I havn't been back for a while... mom thought it was best since.. you semeed upset with me." The youth walked over to his 'father' and opened his arms to him. [22:40]

: Obi hugged him... hard "Ive missed you Annie... " [22:40]

: Anakin smiled, hugging him back. "I've missed you too.. so very much." [22:41]

: "Could you please.. ask your friends to be a bit more careful about where they attack?" [22:42]

: Anakin let go of him and backed up, a surprised look on his face. "my friends?" [22:42]

: "Dooku is leader of the Seperatists apparently.... and he is a Sith.... I figured you knew each other... " [22:43]

: Anakin didn't want to point out that Dooku was no Sith.. he was simply a dark Jedi.. because that would give away everything. Instead he just sighed. "Please.. don't start with that again.." [22:44]

: Obi shook his head "Im not... I was just wondering if you cared about us anymore when that threat came... " [22:45]

: "First off.. that's not my fault.. second.. dooku is no friend of mine... third, if I had known about the attack ahead of time I would have rushed here at once to prevent it." [22:47]

: Obi sighed softly "You see nothing wrong with any of this" Obi turned and returned to washing the pot he had been working on [22:47]

: Anakin sighed hard. "Where's mom? [22:47]

: He asked.. trying to change the subject [22:49]

: "Going to talk to her instead of me.... " obi asked ... "Like its been all of these years.... she's outside" [22:50]

: Anakin shook his head. "Ben.. I love you.. but you keep... thinking bad of me.. and I don't understand why. So rather then try and fight and get you upset.. I'll go talk to mom for a while." [13:31]

: "Fine.... " Obi said.... going back to washing the dishes.... Anakin just didnt want to understand why ... [13:32]

: The boy sighed and headed outside to see Shmi. He continued to maintain hope that one day Obi-Wan would come around.. but for now, he was willing to keep his distance.. even if that meant not seeing his mother as much as he would like. [13:36]

: Shmi was not in the main garden.... she was around the corner where the training area... was... but it wasnt.... a small rock pool with a waterfall now took up the area... several glowing turtle like creatures paddled about in the pool... Shmi was in the process of plangting some Marsh Arrows at the edge.... she was talking to a young girl that was with her.... telling her to put the multilegged wriggling thing she was proudly holding out to Shmi back into the grass so it could help the flowers grow [13:37]

: Anakin was quiet for over a minute. Just watching and observing. He didn't want to disturb his mother as much as he wanted to rush up and hug her tightly. There was another thing too. What had happend here? Was he doing this to Obi-Wan by accident? It made his heart hurt. - Once the momment had passed, he managed his best smile for Shmi and started heading towards her. [13:38]

: Shmi stood.. happy to see him while her young charge hid behind her... "Annie.. its so good to see you! You should have told me you were coming.." [13:39]

: He grinned. "Then it wouldn't be a surprise." He told her, hugging tightly and kissing her cheek before letting go. "I was worried. The fighting got so close... I heard the sepertists were threatening to poison the whole planet as they had the moon." [13:40]

: "Yes... but the Jedi drove them off.... Ben wanted to go as well but... I havent let him" [13:42]

: "Good... It's pretty bad out there. I don't want anything to happen to him." [13:46]

: "Im sorry he's been so.... difficult ... its been a month since he's taught..... he brought this one home to teach her.... and then a week later he was getting droids to build this pond... " [13:47]

: Anakin sighed. "It's the war.." He shook his head then placed a hand on Shmi's arm. "Mom.. look.. I love you so much. And I love being able to see you.. but I think I'm going to have to continue to stay away. At least till Ben.. well.. at least till he stops getting hurt by me being around." [13:50]

: Shmi sighed softly "I dont think he will ever stop being hurt Anakin..... he's worried about you.." [13:51]

: "I know he is... I know he loves me.. and I love him. And I know you love him and he you. That's why I can't... accidently hurt him in ways that might hurt the two of you. I could never forgive myself if that were to happen." He put his arms about Shmi once more and sighs. [13:52]

: "He says a lot of things.... that I ... just dont know whether to believe or not... " Shmi said softly "That you might not be yourself anymore after long... " [13:52]

: "Mom.. tell me." He reached out and took her hands, leading her off to a bench where they could be alone and talk about this. [13:55]

: "He's said things about the Dark side of the Force.... and now those that use it can lose themselves to it.... " [13:57]

: "That sounds like Jedi Dogma... I wish.. he didn't have to think that way. I love him.. but it's like he's still stuck as a pawn for the Jedi order." [13:59]

: "He doesnt want to see you lost.. " Shmi said softly "Thats why he's decided not to teach anymore.." [13:59]

: "I'm not lost mom.. I know where I am." He tried to give her a smile, "And I think it is good for him to teach... is that why he's so depressed?" [14:01]

: "I think it is...he seems to believe that teaching is no good... one of his former students was killed... I think thats what set him off this time.." [14:02]

: Anakin frowned at that. "Who died? What happend?" [14:05]

: "I dont know.. he got word of it and went off for a while... he came back with this girl.... and hasnt been very talkative since..." [14:07]

: Anakin closed his eyes, nodding a bit. "I'm sorry for him.. but that's no reason to stop teaching..." He squeezed Shmi's hands and lowered his head a bit. He supposed Ben blaimed him for the death too. [14:12]

: "He's decided its too risky.... is worried that.... your master will send you after him at some point... " [14:13]

: "mom... what's he talking about? I could never come after him! He's family.. not to mention what it would do to you. And I could NEVER hurt you that way." [14:14]

: "I dont know Annie.... he's just afraid... I try to tell him it wouldnt happen but... he's convinced you are going to change.. he says you already have in ways " [14:15]

: "Mom.. everyone changes in some ways.. it's a fact of life." He managed to look her in the eyes. "Look at me mom.. do I look like I've changed in any important way? I'm still the same son you raised and loved. I care for others.. I've just been learning what I can do with my abilities. And the purpose for what I've been born." [14:17]

: "He tells me that when you were a boy.... you killed a Raider.... and he had to console you for days... and that now killing is second nature to you.. " [14:18]

: He sighed hard at that. "Killing is painful.. but it is better then seeing what happens when you let your enemies go.. the devistation they bring.. the innocent lives they end. I had to learn that... because I'm not powerful enough to stop everyone from killing.. from dying..." [14:39]

: "He does not like.... that you are the one to decide who is .... and is not innocent [14:39]

: Anakin let go of her hands to rub his forehead gently. "And who is? Is he?" He was frustraited by this whole thing. How could someone he loved be so... how could he not trust him? [14:40]

: Shmi shook her head "He says whoever your master is .... is the bad one.... he wishes you would not follow him [14:41]

: "Mom.. you raised me.. you know that I've always been able to tell good people and bad people appart... do you not trust me too?" [14:42]

: "I trust you... but ... Ben says you may have been blind to the bad... in your wish for more" [14:43]

: He squeezed one of his mom's hands again. "And ben is blind because of Jedi Dogma... the Jedi lied to him about things mom.. please belive me on that. I hope in time he can come around." [14:44]

: "Anakin.... all that I ask is you be very careful in what you do... decide for yourself whether it is right or wrong.... dont just follow orders" [14:45]

: "But mom.. I do." He leaned forward and kissed her cheek again before he stood up. "I know what I'm doing.. I know my destiney... I know what must be done." [14:48]

: "Just be careful then.. " Shmi said softly "I dont think Ben will ever... see things your way..." [14:48]

: "Then just love him for me... make sure at least he knows I care about him." Anakin closed his eyes again, not sure when he might see his motehr again. [16:53]

: "I will annie... please... write... at least." [16:54]

: "I promise mom. I love you.. so much." He hugged her tightly again. "I'll be on Naboo for a few days.. representing the Chancellor... if you need to get in touch with me.. it shouldn't be too hard." [16:55]

: Shmi nodded "Perhaps I can come have dinner with you one night... I'd love to hear more about you and Padme" [16:56]

: "I'd love that." He smiled, stepping back from her. "For now.. I'll be in the capital. Take care of yourself.. and Ben." [16:59]

: Shmi nodded "Youre going to have a little sister in name... Ben wants to adopt the cild he brought back.... since Im too old to have any... I wont let him poison her against you .. but I thought you should know.. " [17:00]

: Anakin chuckled softly. "I know he loves me mom... he's just... worried.. I know that. He doesn't mean to say hurtful things. And I'm glad for that. Maybe it will help him calm down.. and I know.. you'll love it too." He smiled, and waved as he headed off. [17:02]

: Shmi sighed as she watched him go... then went back to her planting.... having to practically fish her new daughter out of the pond [17:09]

: After Shmi got the girl cleaned off and somewhere safe with something to eat, she went to her beloved, placing a hand on his back. [17:11]

: "Im sorry Shmi... I just.... its hard for me to look at him anymore... I thought he'd come here to apologize for endangering us..... but he said he had nothing to do with it" [17:13]

: "And you do not belive him?" It hurt her to hear him say that he couldn't look at her son but... Anakin didn't want this to come between her and Obi-Wan... so she wouldn't let it. [17:15]

: "He is a Sith... and they are Sith... they are engineering this war so they can gain control.... everyone that dies because of it.. " [17:16]

: Shmi slid her arms around him from behind and sighed softly. "He's still a good boy.. can you at least belive that?" She whispered. [17:17]

: "He is... but at some point he will do something I cannot forgive him for... I know it" [17:18]

: "What could you never forgive him for?" Shmi asked softly.. knowing in her heart, there were probably things that she couldn't easily forgive her son for either if he did. [17:21]

: "I... I have forgiven him much already... " Obi said softly... wathching his foundling eat "I am willing to forgive him much more.... but I think... I'd have to call the line at killing children..... but it will happen Shmi..... as he gets in deeper and deeper" [17:23]

: Shmi didn't want to belive her son capible of such things. That would really be hurtful... and he was always so.. good. If children wern't innocent then no one was. "That would not be Anakin.." She said softly, but not in the way that many mothers might. Shmi was a good woman, but she wasn't stupid or blind. She knew the son she raised could never do such things.. so if 'he' did.. he wouldn't be the same person any more. [17:35]

: "Shmi... it happens... " [17:36]

: "What happens?" She pressed gently, resting her chin on his shoulder. [17:59]

: "No.. he wouldnt be himself anymore" [18:00]

: "I know... as my son could never do such things. He wouldn't be.. my beloved child.. any more if he were to do that." She let out a long sigh then pulled Obi-Wan around to hug him face to fgace. [18:25]

: "It will be alright Shmi... I will..." Obi Sighed "Shmi.... I ... I have been given an offer.... if you ... are willing to go into a sort of hiding.... " [18:43]

: While Shmi was pondering over Obi-Wan's 'offer' Anakin was getting himself into the capital city of Naboo... and heading down into the refugee camps loaded with food and other supplies there. [18:44]

: So many displaced people.... and Padme was there .... helping them... she couldnt help but return home when she'd heard [18:45]

: Anakin smiled when he saw her, handing out supplies to the grateful refugees. He didn't call out to her.. he just waited till she noticed him, blushing slightly. [18:46]

: Padme smiled "Annie... what are you doing here?" [18:47]

: "Helping people.. same as you." He told her, looking away as he handed out food to a greatful child. [18:49]

: "They wouldnt need healing if the Seperatists would just.... this whole war ... " [18:50]

: Anakin nodded a bit, sighing to himself. "I know.. but with any luck.. it will be over quickly." He squatted down, seeig another child come up and patted them gently before handing them a soft plush toy along with the food and clothing. [18:53]

: "It may end quickly but the impact.... will last generations...." [18:54]

: "It's why I had to come... well that and I am the chancellor's representitive out here and he can't leave Coruscant now." He sent the child on it's way before handing out more things. [18:55]

: Padme smiled "I did not ask Ben to help me... he would want to adopt them all..... and he already has his hands full as it is... " [18:56]

: Anakin chuckled softly. "I heard.. he and mom are adopting... problem is he doesn't trust me right now. He seems to think I had something to do with the attack on the Moon." [18:57]

: "Why would he think that Annie?" Padme asked.... giving the bundle she held to a woman and turning to him.. frowning [18:58]

: "just some of the things Ben's been beliving about me. It hurts to hear him say that since it's not true.. so.. I'm havign to distance myself from him." He turned to her too, a sad look in his eyes. [18:59]

: "Im... sorry to hear that... Shmi has said he's been under a lot of stress lately... he found his way into a bar not too long ago.... " [18:59]

: "Ah.. he's been drinkign again." Anakin shook his head, "Well, that explains a few things." [19:01]

: "Yes.. ever since he decided to stop his schooling... I don t know... I wish I could do more to help them" [19:02]

: "Me too.. but he seems upset when I'm near him.. so I hope mom can help him." He let out a sigh and moved over to Padme. [19:06]

: "Would you lik to help me a bit.... and then perhaps take a break?" [19:07]

: Anakin nodded. "I would love to." He told her. He hadn't come alone. He had some clone troopers, and he assigned them to work on handing out the supplies as he koined padme. [19:08]

: They got what they had distributed quickly... it wasnt quite enough... it never was with things like these [19:08]

: And Anakin decided to send them back for more while he got to talk to Padme. [19:09]

: "I feel so guilty... sleeping in a bed.. being able to get a shower.... having food.. " [19:10]

: "If we help them.. they can have all those things again soon." He told her, nodding his head in agreement. "I will have to go back and forth betwene places like this and Coruscant for a while.. for what's best for the Republic. The chancellor has other bodyguards." [19:12]

: "You can have dinner with me tonight.... if you dont mind something simple" [19:13]

: "I would love to have dinner with you.. even if it's stale bread and a little water." He grinned. [19:15]

: "No no... we'll do better than that. Im just staying closer to here in a small house and there isnt much" [19:16]

: He laughed a bit. he didn't mean to suggest that that would be what they were eating.. "Mmm.. alright then." [19:20]

: "Come then.. " Padme said..... taking his hand and squeezing it lightly [19:20]

: He smiled, squeezing back and following her to the small house. [19:21]

: She had no servants... she actually had to make it herself.... [19:21]

: And he tried to pitch in best he could but wound up being forced into setting the table. [19:22]

: "I can cook just fine Annie" She teased.... [19:23]

: Anakin laughed. "Just trying to be useful." He smiled, waiting on her now. [19:36]

: Padme smirked "Well.. its ready" [19:37]

: She had made something of vegetables and a odd spongy substance [19:37]

: Anakin grinned and smiled towards her. "Wonderful. what are we having?" He looked at the food, picking up his bowl for some. [19:41]

: "Hopefully its good.. " [19:43]

: "You forgot.. I grew up a slave.. I can eat anything." He grinned "Besides, with the refugees near by who would eat anything..does it really matter what it tastes like?" He meant this as a good thing even though it might accidently insult her as he spooned some into his bowl. [19:44]

: "Its some new stuff that our people created" [19:45]

: "Oh?" He started to eat, slowly.. letting himself understand what he was tasting. [19:50]

: "Yes.... its made of base elements... they take inedible things.... break them into their components... and remake them into this stuff.. its not tthat bad" [19:51]

: "Wow. A synthiser of some kind? that would be great given the war.. where resorces are rare. And for the refugees. But how much energy does it take?" [19:55]

: "I cant really talk about it Annie... Im sorry..." [19:56]

: Anakin grinned. "Oh I see.. secrets." He put a finger over his lips, "Got it. Not a word.. you have it on my honor." [19:58]

: "Last thing we need is them getting it... and is such a new technology" [19:58]

: "I agree. But then.. they don't have troops to feed.. droids don't eat." He continued with his food. [20:06]

: "True... but it would give them another way to be self sufficiebnt" [20:07]

: Anakin nodded. "And more of a reason to continue the war." [20:14]

: Padme sighed "I hate this... I wish... sometimes that it had never happened... that I was never senator... or a queen" [20:15]

: "Don't say that. If you had never been queen you'd have never come to Tatooine by accident.. we'd never have met.." He reached over for her hand, "And the war would still have happened." [20:18]

: "But I would not have it hanging over my head" [20:19]

: "Why is it hanging over your head? Do you not want to be helping people?" [20:25]

: "Not if it means... not getting to live" [20:27]

: "Ive never gotten to have fun... just worry... I wont get to really live until t his all ends... " [20:28]

: Anakin closed his eyes and rubbed the back of her hand. "Even if I didn't have the job I did.. I still might be here.. helping out... because people suffer... you and I.. arn't much different. We don't want to rest when others hurt.. even if we WANT to live." [20:30]

: "Im so frustrated anymore Anakin.... " Padme said ... picking at her food "I dont want people to hurt anymore... I dont want to see it" [20:31]

: Anakin brought his hand back. "Just because you don't see it doesn't mean people arn't hurting. We do what we must.. but you're right.. we should have time for ourselves too." [20:35]

: "We dont... and wont..." [20:35]

: He cocked an eyebrow. "Eh?" He didn't understand what she meant by that. [20:36]

: Padme shook her head "Ive been overworked.... " [20:36]

: "Then you need a break. No buts about it. No one can work effecently without taking a vaction now and then." He smiled. [20:37]

: "I cant... " [20:37]

: "Yes you can." He grinned suddenly and stood up, "As representitive of the Surpreme Chancellor, I order you, Senator Amidala of Naboo, to take a few days off and leave one of your representitives in charge." [20:45]

: "Are you mad annie?" Padme asked.... she didnt find it at all amusing [20:46]

: Anakin sighed and shook his head before plopping down again. "I'm sorry.. thought I could help." [20:57]

: "You know I cant do anything... :" [20:58]

: "That's why you need to take a break. If you want I can speak to the Queen for you." [21:01]

: "Perhaps... but it wouldnt hlelp much: [21:01]

: "Why not?" [21:03]

: "The war would still be raging... " [21:04]

: "But you can get a few days rest... and after, you can work harder." [21:04]

: "Nothing will Padme... but it can keep you from loosing your mind." He frowned a bit, then came around the table to kneel at her side. "Please?" [21:10]

: "Fine then... you make arrangements" [21:11]

: "Are you mad at me?" He frowned again. [21:12]

: "No.... just... I dont know" [21:12]

: He pulled his arms about her and kissed her cheek. "I will... make it my busness to relax you." [21:14]

: "Youve got your work cut out for you.... " [21:14]

: "I know.. but it's worth it.. one senator relaxed at a time." [21:15]

: "Oh so you relax other Senators as well?" Padme asked [21:16]

: "Just you." He laughed, "Personally anyway.. but being the chancellors aid.. I do have to sometimes arrange relaxation for overworked senators." [21:24]

: It was just a day later when Padme was given time off.. leaving senate duty to one of her aids. She would up taking Anakin out to her family's lake house.. a large and beautiful spot.. where they could be alone. [21:27]

: It took her a while to relax for Annie..... but when she did.... she opened her heart fully to him [21:28]

: "I love you.." He told her, taking her hands, "I do want to be with you... even if it's not that often because of our jobs.. every momment I'm with you.. I'm happier then I've ever been. I feel complete..." [21:30]

: "I... I think I can be happy with you.... even with this war going on" [21:31]

: "I can be happy being with you.. no matter what.. as long as you love me.." [21:37]

: "Of course.... Ive just been... so flustered.. its been far from my mind" [21:40]

: "Im ready now.... it'll give you a reason to visit me more" Padme said with a soft smile" [21:44]

: "I think I've been ready the momment I met you.. even if I didn't understand.. I knew I wanted to be with you." [21:49]

: padme smiled and pressed close "Thank you for suggesting this Annie... I wanted to do this... but ... I didnt want to look bad... you were right though... " [21:50]

: "No one has to know if it makes you uncomfortable. I don't want anyone to look at you oddly for being married to me. Because I love you more then that." He smiled, pulling his arms around her. [21:53]

: "I would tell everything.... but you are right... for now we keep it a secret.. until the war passes... and we have more time.." [21:54]

: He smiled. - They got married thatr night under the setting sun on the balcony... servents being the only ones in attendance. And the one who married them.. but no one who would talk
