: The school was on Midgar... Rufus had given them the space two years before.. rather excited about it himself. The Jedi didn't even have to know about it. Too bad Midgar was fairly depressing. It wasn't as coverd as Coruscant but it was pretty bad. [01:03]
: It was difficult for Shmi to have her garden.... but Obi was so happy..... he was teaching again.... and learning himself [01:04]
: And if he was happy.. she was happy. That's what mattered to her. And she found things to keep herself occupied. - Rufus was visiting one day with reports from the front. "Rummor has it.." He began, "There's some Sith lord by the name of Darth Vader running around. No one knows what he looks like but he's been credited with the deaths of several powerful Jedi masters in the last month." [01:05]
: Cloud frowned "Our students arent ready for that.... even the promising ones.... we must keep as quiet as possible about this.... " [01:05]
: Rufus nodded. "Count Dooku doesn't seem to fight much.. he seems to send minons.. but this Sith Lord doesn't fight along side them.. it's like he's in random places and when the jedi run into him.. they die." [01:09]
: "Im quite sure its that Bodyguard of Palpatine is the culprit... " Cloud said with a frown "And he's overpowered..... theres no way any of us could take him" [01:09]
: Rufus glanced towards Obi-Wan who was a little ways away. "You mean the one he's always blathering about?" [01:10]
: "Yes.... " Cloud said with a sigh "Stronger than Yoda they say.... and our best is well below that... " [01:10]
: "Well.. he would know how to fight him wouldn't he?" He pointed at Obi-Wan this time. [01:12]
: "Yes but he wouldnt.... its his son... " Cloud said... biting his lip [01:12]
: Rufus nodded. "So you're saying he doesn't care that jedi are being murdered?" [01:12]
: "He is a bit bitter about the Jedi..... and.. well he passed that along to the boy... I dont think Ben could talk him out of it... " [01:13]
: Rufus nodded. "Still.. make sure he knows about this." Rufus handed him a disk with the latest reports before heading back to his speeder. [01:14]
: Cloud nodded.. he hated giving Ben bad news.... but he had little choice.... they had to prepare themselves for what might happen.... if the Jedi were taken out.... they would have to try and make something of what was left.... keep hidden to keep the learning alive. [14:20]
: Obi looked over the reports and sighed "He is going to kill them all... in the end..." [14:21]
: "The Sith want to destroy the Jedi.." Cloud shook his head. "But it will still take a long time at this rate." [14:25]
: "I worry for the younglings... I.... I do not think he'd hurt them... but .. he might... he hates the Jedi .... because of me" [14:26]
: "Still blame yourself for his hate? Unless you truely belive that only his dislike of the Jedi lead him into the arms of the Sith." [14:32]
: "No.... he was destined to fall to them.... I .... think no matter what I did.. " [14:33]
: "So stop beating yourself up over it?" Cloud pressed him gently. Seeing Obi-Wan get upset over the boy did no good.. especially when it could be proved that it was not his fault. [14:38]
: "I ... still wish I could have averted it" Obi said with a sigh "I love him" [14:39]
: "Well.. looks like you have some tough choices ahead of you. We both know what the dark side does to people." Cloud folded his arms. [14:40]
: "I... I cant kill him if thats what you mean..... It would hurt Shmi.... and .... myself" [14:41]
: Cloud nodded. "Don't think you can anyway.. his powers.. incredible.. his fighting ability.." He sighed. "Still.. you did teach him the basics.." [14:42]
: "I will train someone to do it..... but I cannot... betray him that way" [14:42]
: "Then train me in it.. I was once a Jedi.. I have my skills... and I've fought the Sith before." [14:44]
: Obi nodded "I will... " [14:47]
: One day.. Padme had some interesting news. She had been working busy in the senate and hadn't noticed her first missed period.. however, the nausa and the growing of her body soon indicated by the second month that she was with child. Anakin had been back and forth between Coruscant and helping out refugees and so hadn't had the oppertunity to notice as much. [14:48]
: She had called him.. as soon as she realized "Annie... do you have a few minutes?" [14:49]
: Anakin was back on Coruscant so when she asked him that he went straight to her appartment... walking through the door. "My love.. what's on your mind?" He asked. [14:53]
: She smiled softly "Something wonderful Annie" she said... wrapping her arms around him and drawing his hand to her abdomen "Im pregnant" [14:54]
: Anakin's face lit up and he held her tightly, kissing her. "This is wonderful!" He echoed her, his hand lightly stroking her abdomen. "Oh Padme." He held her eyes. He was going to be a daddy! They were going to have a real family! Perhaps by the time the war was over. Hell, he'd make sure the war was over before his child was born. He wanted them to be born into a galaxy of peace and order.. not this chaotic mess. [14:58]
: The only thing missing at that moment.... was the ability to tell his mother... let her know of the news.... but she had disappeared.... along with Ben... years ago now.. [15:01]
: He missed her.. but knew she was happy in some way with Obi-Wan. He couldn't throw a wrench into her well deserved happyness just because he wanted to be close to her. Too bad the Jedi though that Sith were all selfcentered.. he was still very much selfless. - "I love you.. so much." He told his wife, kissing her before dropping to his knees to kiss her belly. TRue, it wasn't really anything yet.. but in a few months hopefully, he'd have something else to 'talk' to.. and love before the big day., [15:03]
: "Annie... are you going to be able to.... lessen your duties once the child is born? Assuming the war ends.... " Padme asked.. threading her fingers through his hair [15:04]
: "I will ask the chancellor about that. I'm sure he'll let me have more time off... so I can be a good father. Be a good husband.." He smiled. "Once the war is over.. we can.. let everyone know we're married.. right?" [15:09]
: "Of course Annie" Padme said... sliding her arms around him and squeezing tight "I am not ashamed of being in love with you" [20:43]

: "I will ask the chancellor about that. I'm sure he'll let me have more time off... so I can be a good father. Be a good husband.." He smiled. "Once the war is over.. we can.. let everyone know we're married.. right?"
: "Of course Annie" Padme said... sliding her arms around him and squeezing tight "I am not ashamed of being in love with you" [20:44]
: He smiled, kissing her cheeks. "That makes me so happy.." He whispered, running a hand down her back. "when are you due?" [20:55]
: "About six months.. give or take a little" Padme said "I should start getting things together... " [20:55]
: He smiled. "Six months.. a long time to wait.. but time enough for the war to end.. with any luck." He nuzzled her neck before letting go. "What sort of things?" [20:56]
: "Baby things.... " Padme said with a laugh... "You can never have enough Im told " [20:57]
: "Mmm.. going to go back to Naboo? Maybe the lake house? That place seems perfect for a family..." [20:59]
: "Yes.. I'll have to take some leave I suppose" Padme said "If Im asking you to do the same for me" [20:59]
: "I will. Once the baby is born.. I'll make sure I'm home rather then wandering about. I'm sure the Chancellor will understand." He kissed her and smiled. [21:02]
: "Good... can you stay for a while now? Or at least come have dinner [21:04]
: "I can stay." He smiled, holding her hand, "Nothing could break me away from you right now." [21:06]
: "We need ot think of names... " [21:07]
: "I'm bad with names." He sat down on the couch. "Waiting till the baby is born for gender and that sort of thing?" He was excited but, he knew the best things had to be waited for. Like the empire.. it couldn't be born over night.. but it was coming soon. [21:12]
: Padme sighed "Im excited and scared... I hope things are better by the time.." [21:13]
: "Me too." The baby would change everything.. but for the better. Of this he was sure. He loved Padme so much.. he looked forward to sharing that love. [21:17]
: Padme just wanted to snuggle against him... and purr about how much she loved him [21:18]
: And he wuld purr about how much he loved her.. and discuss names for their baby... which he finnaly left in her hands with the names Luke if a boy and Leia if a girl [21:23]
: Close to six months later.. Padme had grown huge... and Anakin had been sent out to the rim to help try and restore peace there. And it was a good thing too.. at least most likely from padme's perspective. The Chancellor was abducted.. his guards killed by general Grievous. - Anakin could have been killed had he been there. Thankfully.. the chancellor was rescued by the Jedi, count Dooku killed, all about the time Skywalker returned home. [21:29]
: It was good thing... killing Dooku meant hat he seperatists had lost some of their power... at least to padme this was good [21:30]
: Anakin checked in with the Chancellor before dodging a few Jedi and going to his wife. "Mmm.. love.. I was so worried about you when I heard the capital was attacked." [21:32]
: "We're fine.... the Jedi managed to roust them... but Grievous got away" Padme said with a sigh "We at least cut them in half" [21:33]
: "I heard. Count Dooku was finnaly killed." He reached out and stroked his cheek before kissing her softly. "The war should be over quickly. I'm sure the Jedi can handle Grievous." And he knew the council would be stretched thin.. they would be all over.. finnaly, the trap could be sprung and they could be slaughtered.. once they moved on the chancellor of course. [21:36]
: He knew they would... they would eventually believe Cloud... and would move to act.... and then they would all perish [21:36]
: He was anticipating that day.. hopefully before his child was born.. then there would be peace in the galaxy and he could relax for a while and have a real family. That's why he was brim,ming now. [21:38]
: Padme showed him the nursery she'd put together "I have to admit Im a little scared.... I dont know what to do with a baby..." [21:39]
: "Didn't you take care of your neices at all?" He asked, smiling, "I'm sure you'll do fine with ours." [21:39]
: "Yes but when its your baby its different.. " PAdme said with a chuckle [21:40]
: "And you'll have me too.. I'll have to learn like you ... never handled a little one before." [21:41]
: "Just have to be careful you dont drop them" Padme said with a smile.. "They like to be close" [21:41]
: "I don't think I could drop a child.. especially one that was both yours and mine." [21:43]
: "No... I know you'll do fine" [21:43]
: "Just as I know you will." He put his hand on her belly before kneeling down before it once they were home and alone. [21:55]
: Padme smiled "Come... lets go out tonight... " [21:56]
: "Where to?" He smiled. "I hear there's a no mon calimari opera just opened." [21:59]
: "Sounds good... we havent been out for aw hile" [21:59]
: " [22:00]
: "Same.. I've been busy doing this and that on offical busness.. mm.. and anywhere with you would be wonderful." He nuzzled at her belly, kissing it softly. "Soon." [22:10]
: Cloud had been working hard... even though his training was done.. Obi had some of the students working on him still.... they would jump him at random and challenge him.... just to get him ready... the most annoying was Obi's adopted daughter.... she had once slunk into his quarters and tried to get him in his sleep [22:11]
: Of course Shmi had stopped her from that... using the gentle love of a mother to send the girl on her way. Now Shmi was worried as Obi-Wan was given the reports about the chancellors abduction and rescue [22:13]
: "Its a ruse.... Im sure of it" Obi said... frowning "He's trying to look the victim" [22:13]
: Shmi rubbed his back. "Anakin is alright though.. according to the reports." [22:16]
: "Yes.. that is good.... I just worry now... I think we are safe for now" [22:16]
: "We should be.. I just wish.. I could speak with him." she sighed a bit and slid in next to Obi-Wan. [22:17]
: "If you want to visit him... I cannot stop you" [22:18]
: "It's alright love.. I just miss him is all." She patted his arm. [22:23]
: Obi slipped his arms around her "I dont want you to go on for the rest of your life not seeing him.... I just... feel we need to protect our way of life.. " [22:24]
: "Once the war is over.. maybe then we can see him?" She was hoping Obi-Wan would want to but.. she would understand if he still couldn't look Anakin in the eyes. [22:28]
: "Yes.. as long as things dont happen as .... I dread" [22:29]
: She sighed a bit. "The children?" She asked gently [22:31]
: "Yes.... I ... dont thin he will but.. " [22:31]
: "But what? Bad dreams my love?" [22:32]
: "Anakin..... I dont know.... if he slips that bit... Im not sure what will happen" [22:32]
: "Tell me.. what have you seen in your nightmares?" She asked him, ready to share with him.. ready to help him.. no secrets between them. [22:33]
: "I see Anakin as a monster..... obediently slaying whomever his master decrees.... whole worlds..." [22:34]
: "Anything specific or just.. images?" [22:34]
: "A planet ... that isnt a planet... but a weapon... its all blurry.... I want ever good at that" [22:35]
: "You called him a monster.. what did you see of him?" [22:35]
: Obi shook his head "Please.. I try to forget them lest they blind me to loving him.... " [22:36]
: "Don't shut me out.. if we talk about this.. maybe.. it will help." She held his hand. [22:38]
: "He will kill the Children.... everyone in the temple... " [22:38]
: "Maybe.. we should get in touch with him before he does?" [22:43]
: "I will.... I wan to ask him not to:" [22:43]
: "The sooner the better." She stood. "I will stay here... and watch over things." [09:04]
: Obi paked lightly... not sure how long he was going to stay on Coruscant.... and bid Shmi farewell.... "I'll message you if I'll be any longer than two days" he told her... kissing her and squeezing her tightly [09:04]
: She held him, kissing back, and squeezed before finnaly letting go. "Be safe my love." She whispered. [09:07]
: Obi nodded... they both knew Annie wouldnt hurt him.... but who knew about his master.... or if there were any other servants that might take a shot at him.... he was a voice of reason for Anakin to listen to.... [09:08]
: Anakin had a home on Coruscant.. and unknown to most.. Padme was living with him. He happend to be home.. and she too.. when Obi-Wan arrived. [09:10]
: Obi knocked on the door and rocked back on his heels.. feeling sheepish..... he shouldnt have come unannounced [09:11]
: Anakin answered since he wanted Padme to stay resting and practicly tackled Obi-Wan when he saw him. "Ben!" He exclaimed, delight evident on his face to see him regardless of any sort of news the older man might bring. [09:13]
: "Annie.. how have you been?" Obi asked.... smiling... it was good to see the boy still himself.... or as far as Obi could tell he was [09:14]
: Anakin finished hugging him and captured Obi-Wan's hands.. sort of like his mother might do as he gazed into the other's eyes. "I'm good.. really good.. what brings you to Coruscant? I.. I've missed you and mom so much." [09:14]
: "I came to talk... to try and make peace for your mother's sake.... and my own I suppose [09:14]
: " [09:15]
: "Come.." He pulled his 'father' inside and lead him into the living room to sit on a couch. "I've been hoping to see you again.. but didn't want to push you." [09:16]
: "Im sorry we just disappeared... I thought it was best at the time.... I was a bit scared.... still am to tell the truth" [09:17]
: "Can I get you anything?" The youth asked, finnaly letting him go, "Why are you scared? The war is practicly over.. The Jedi got rid of Count Dooku and they'll find Grievous in no time." [09:20]
: "Im worried that I might be considered a Jedi in your crusade..... " [09:22]
: He frowned lightly and looked about the room. The last thing he wanted was for Padme to hear talk like that. She didn't know... and he coudln't tell her till both after the war, the empire, and the baby. Any time before then and it might kill her to find out. "Ben.. please.." He slid in next to him, "Don't talk like that. I promised long ago I'd never do anything to hurt you." [09:25]
: "I know.... but you have no control over..... the others in your organization.." [09:25]
: "I could never let anything happen to members of my family... NEVER." He promised, holding Obi-Wan's hand tightly. [09:26]
: "What about my students?" [09:27]
: "That all depends.." His voice was soft, sighing... as he shook his head. "Look Ben.. now might not be a good time for this..." [09:28]
: Padme had come to see who had come in.. "Annie who are you talking to? Ben? Is that you?" [09:29]
: Anakin stood up from the couch and went to his beloved. "Yes, he decided to drop by." He managed a smile as he took her hand gently. He was worried about what Obi-Wan might say infront of her.. especially in her 'condition'. She was eight months pregnant.. and though they didn't know it yet since they wanted the birth to be a surprise.. it was with twins. That made her rather puff out against her normally small frame. [09:30]
: Obi gave Anakin an odd look ... then smiled "So you've been busy I see?" he said .. knowing Shmi would not stay in hiding with him when she found out about this [09:31]
: Anakin blushed. "We wanted to tell you but... you guys couldn't be found." He placed a hand lightly on Padme's belly, smiling as he felt a kick. [09:32]
: "Well.... I know Shmi is going to want to come to see you now..... how... when is the child due?" [09:32]
: "Soon. This month for sure." He kissed Padme's cheek, rubbing her belly gently. It was quiet clear he was a kind and loving father.. not the 'monster' Obi-Wan had been fearing. [09:36]
: "Do you think we can find lodging for Shmi and I? She will want to be here... to help out... I will want to be here as well" he said with a small grin [09:37]
: "Of course. That would make me.. us" He smiled at his wife, "Very happy." He got Padme to sit down and sat between them. [09:42]
: Padme sighed and put her feet up She had so many questions for Ben but she would let Anakin ask his first [09:43]
: "So how have you and mom been? I was worried about you guys.. not knowing where you were and all." He smiled at Ben, holding one of Padme's hands. [09:44]
: "We've been well... Shmi has had a slightly difficult time adapting to the new place..... but she's happy now.... she misses you... it was wrong of me to take her so far away" Obi said with a sigh.... [09:45]
: "It's alright Ben... I told her I didn't want to come between the two of you.. since I knew you both loved me.. and she would love me unconditionally.. so if there were any problems between you and I, I didn't want them to transfer to her happyness." [09:46]
: "There are things I'd still like to discuss when we have time... but for now we need to be happy... this is a wonderous occasion" [09:46]
: "that it is." Anakin made dinner.. for them to bond over.. and then helped Padme soak in a tub.. giving he and Obi-Wan time to talk alone out on the terrace. [09:47]
: "Anakin.. Ive come here to ask for a favor of you" [09:48]
: "What have you come to ask?" He hand his hands on his hips as he leaned a bit on the outer wall, face turned to look at Obi-Wan. [09:52]
: "Well.. I know you are slowly whittling away at the Jedi... " [09:52]
: Anakin sighed a bit but he couldn't lie to Ben. Especially since it really couldn't be stopped now anyway. "Is that why you're here?" [09:54]
: "I.. I just want you to spare the younglings Anakin...." [09:55]
: Anakin looked away from his 'father' then, folding his arms across his chest. "That may not be up to me... and it really depends... on them." [09:55]
: "The ones that do not fight I plea for" [09:56]
: Anakin closed his eyes and nodded his head slowly. "I will do what I can..." [09:56]
: "If it helps.... I will take those that you save.. and teach them... your master may have his pick of them when I am done.... if it is only to save them .... they are innocent in this.... many are there because they are given away... not because they wanted it.." [09:57]
: "Children like you used to be? Brainwashed from infancy into beliving only the lies that the [09:57]
: Jedi tell them till there is nothing else?" [09:58]
: "Yes.. I can show them as I showed you... a new path... " [09:58]
: Anakin nodded. "I must consult... with my master.. on this." He belived that if his beloved 'father' was here to betray him it was too late anyway. No reason to continue skirting the issue. [10:00]
: "Thank you for at least hearing me out Annie.... I .... do not know if I could forgive you for killing children.... whether it is necessary or not" [10:01]
: Anakin pushed off from the wall and embraced Obi-Wan. "This does not leave us. I do not want to trouble my beloved about this right now. Especially not in her current state. Once the time is right, I will explain to her. For now.. it would only hurt her." [10:02]
: "I understand... this is to be a time of joy and not sorrow.. to tell her would only stress her and possibly harm mother and child... " Ben hugged the boy back and sighed "I will contact Shmi and have her come.. " [10:03]
: "Keep Padme company for me.. I have someone to see." He kissed Obi-Wan's cheek then let him go, slipping inside and to the front door. [10:06]
: Obi went and kept Padme company ... helping her out of the bath when she was done..... she was not very shy.. and Obi didnt mind.... she was a beautiful woman... even with her belly distended [10:07]
: And Anakin made it to the chancellor's office, bowing once they were alone. "Master.." He whispered, waiting to be acknowlaged. He did this to seperate every day concerns of his offical post with that of the Sith. [10:09]
: After a few moments his master closed the connection on his desk computer and looked up "You may now speak freely Lord Vader" [10:10]
: The apprentice rose to his feet and sighed softly. "There are a few concerns I must put before you. My 'father' came to see me. He is worried of what I will do next.. and he has begged me.. not to hurt the younglings." [10:12]
: Palpatine tapped his fingers together in contemplation "I have wondered.. how much he knew.... his is a sharp one.... and what merit do these younglings have.... they are Jedi in the making... " [10:13]
: "He belives some might be.. saved... turned away from the Jedi life style. I promised I would at least try to do something if it is possible." He held his arms at his sides, gazing out at his master. "He thinks he can teach them." [10:14]
: "He is an excellent teacher..... the students he has trained are quite good.... yourself being the best of course.. but that is a given.... with your abilities" Palpatine said slowly "However .. I do not know if I like his softness... I was able to take it out of you... " [10:16]
: He closed his eyes briefly. "yes Master." He whispered. He didn't always like being told that but it was true for the most part. He could carry out any order Sidious gave him.. sort anything against his family. "It is possible that he would be good for.. teaching simple skills... before the rest." [10:17]
: "If this were to happen..... If .. mind you... I would require that it be done here on Coruscant.... and under watchful eyes.... if he did not like the Jedi's scrutiny he will not appreciate mine.." [10:18]
: "I am sure I can persuade him to come here. I think he would do anything to keep them alive.. or rather, he would do anything not to have me kill them." [10:19]
: "Afraid of losing you is he? That happened a long time ago.... but it is to yours ... as well as his benefit that you are now my pupil.... he will be allowed to continue what he loves... and be kept safe in it... " [10:21]
: He nodded his head again. "That is quiet true. It is to his benifit. As for the temple.. how soon are the Jedi to finding Grievous on Utapau? Surely they will come here to get you to step down as soon as the war is over." [10:23]
: "They are quite close... I do not expect him to last much longer... only a small loss.... you are the true prize amongst my apprentices..... you are the only one worthy of rising to greatness... when the Jedi come we will stage an attack... I want you to reveal to the one that arrives that I am Sith.... he will attack and it will give reason for me to retaliate... " [10:24]
: "Yes Master. Then afterwards... I know my duty.. bring the army to the JEdi temple to catch them offbalance once order 66 is given throughout the galaxy." He smiled a little at that. He could not wait to reveal himself to the Jedi. [10:27]
: "I expect that hotblood Windu will come.... he leaves himself more open than the others.... his fighting style puts him in touch with the darkside once too often.... he will attack and attempt to kill.... after that... you are free to do as you please at the temple.... kill all that resist.... I will allow the ones who cower to live... they will be subservient. " [10:28]
: "Your will shall be done." He bowed his head. "All who take up arms against us will die. This I vow." He tightened one fist, grinning slightly in anticipation. So soon.. the empire would be born.. as would his child. [10:29]
: And ben would be happy... and things would get back to normal.... hopefully [21:43]
: Once grievou was taken care of... the Separatists were nothing.... it was time to end the reign of Palpatine.. Mace was almost proud as he came into the office to tell him of the dissolution [21:44]
: His chief bodyguard and representive met Mace at the door and smirked slightly. "Well, if it isn't master Windu, come to discuss what happens now that the war is more or less over?" He asked. - It was no surprise that Skywalker didn't like him.. after all Mace had been the one to suggest the boy be kept 'prisoner' at the temple about thirteen years ago. [22:03]
: "Its none of your business.... my time is with the chancellor" Mace told him.. brushing past him with nary a secondlook [22:04]
: Anakin smirked. That arrogant Jedi. Too bad... he had so much potential for the dark side, but both he and his master wanted him dead. After all, Windu LOVED the REpublic and would never stand to see it become and Empire.. and hated the Sith as much as any Jedi couild hate. - Without making a noise the boy carefully drew his lightsaber and waited for his master to give the word. [22:10]
: He had to give windu the chance to attack first.. or else it would look bad [22:10]
: So he let Windu, not noticing that he was in danger thanks to Anakin's way of masking himself, demand that palpatine turn over his emergency powers and step down as chancellor. [22:16]
: "The war is over and we dont need your guidance anymore" Windu stated.. looming somewhat menacingly [22:17]
: "It sounds to me.. that you are talking treason... are the Jedi really that bold to take over the Republic?" Palpatine sighed, making himself appear quiet concerned on the outside when really he was recording the whole audio converstion to throw at the senate later... [22:19]
: "We arent taking over you are the one that is taking over" [22:20]
: "i have done nothing wrong Master Windu." Palpatine managed a soft smile, "Are you really going to go so much against the senate by dictating to them who may or may not be in office?" [22:25]
: "You said you would step down once the war was over.... I am here to make sure you do just that" [22:26]
: "But the war isn't over is it? Why are you REALLY here Master Windu?" Palpatine stood, fiddling with his robe sleeve a bit. [22:29]
: "You are bad for the Republic sir... " [22:29]
: He frowned. "Master Jedi.. I think you should leave.. now.. I do not like where this conversation is going." [22:33]
: "I think perhaps we should have listened to Cloud all those years ago.... and taken you out.." [22:33]
: "Is that a threat?" Palpatine took a step back, a look of worry on his face but he was not the least bit worried. "You almost sound.. treasoness again." [22:37]
: "Its a statement... whether it is true or false is up for the Council to decide.... step down chancellor" [22:37]
: "Leave Master Jedi.. I won't ask again. It is not for you to decide who controls the Republic.. that is up to the senate." [22:45]
: "no... youve been leading the Senate along... with your lies about peace... " [22:47]
: "So it is to be treason then? You will be taking action against me?" He looked like a kind old man, but he was letting his inner darkness 'shine' through in that momment. He was ready to end the game.. all he needed was Mace on tape moving against him.. and the senate would support the justification for what he was about to do to the Jedi. [22:48]
: Mace picked up on the darkness.... saw the truth of it as the old man spoke... he was the Sith lord they had been looking for... Cloud had been right.... he completely forgot about the bodyguard as he stepped forward reaching for his blade [20:09]
: Palpatine smiled calmly, but his words seemed just the oppisit. "What's the meaning of this? Guards! Help!" He shouted as the sound of a lightsaber igniting came from behind Mace. - In the Master's rush, he had ignored the one person he shouldn't have.. Palpatine's apprentice. [20:11]
: Mace whirled in an attempt to Parry.... it was too late he realized ... this was a setup... to make the Jedi look bad.... a reason to remove them from politics [20:13]
: Anakin meerly smiled at him, crimson blade in hand pressed against the purple plasma of the Jedi Master's. "I've waited a long time for this... don't disapoint me now.." the boy purred. He seemed delighted by the prospect of clashing lightsabers with Mace Windu. Confident and cocky. [20:16]
: Mace was supposedly one of their best... but Anakin was sure he wouldnt hold up to him... he waited to find out as the Jedi moved back a step to free his blade and get into a better stance [20:18]
: Palpatine had shut off the recording and settled in to watch. He would only intervien if needed.. if Mace somehow was more powerful then his apprentice. - Anakin smiled, flexing his stance to one that clutched his blade in both hands and held it straight out from his right shoulder. "You Jedi feared me... I know you did.. as a result your fears became relized..." [20:21]
: "Fear ... no... we should have just taken care of you and your teacher when we had the chance... when you first showed up" Mace said... moving in to attack as he opened himself up to the force... letting the light and dark guide his hand [20:23]
: Anakin gave him a foul look . "Are you saying you would have killed a nine year old for no reason except that he existed?" He barked, meeting his attack with a well learned defense. Obi-Wan had taught him well the basics.. and though it had been years since they had last sparred.. those moves still stuck even after his advanced training under Sidious. [20:24]
: "Anything to keep a monster like you from being realized" Windu said.... moving swiftly.... he was testing... looking for an opening.. power meant nothng compared to skill at times [20:25]
: "As I said.. Jedi are evil... and need to be destroyed.." Anakin glared. He wasn't just powerful, but highly skilled. He knew the Jedi arts. He had sparred with count Dooku many times even if they didn't care much for eachother.. and Dooku had been taught by Master Yoda himself. [20:32]
: "Who are the evil ones boy?" Mace growled.... moving for an opening he saw [20:34]
: "The ones who stand by idly while others suffer.. who allow things to get so corrupt and poisoned that killing and destroying is the only way to bring true peace and order." He replied, moving as part of his tunic was cut, narrowly avoiding getting burned himself. [20:36]
: Mace saw it as an opportunity to take him down.... he'd almost gotten him once.... he would not fail [20:40]
: Anakin was a force to be reckoned with.. but he was meerly toying with Mace Windu. After letting the Master take a few more swings at him he called up one of his abilities... and sent a volly of force lightning streaking at him., [20:43]
: Mace grimaced and brought his blade to block the shot..... it was all the will he could muster to hold back the flow [20:44]
: Anakin winced slightly, dropping the flow and uing his own blade to block the bounce. He really didnt want to get hit by that stuff. He had in training... he knew how much it hurt.. and what it could do to you. "You are good with a blade.. I'll give you that." [20:53]
: "As are you ... a pity it is wasted on the Darkside.. " Mace said... moving in with a flurry of attacks... going from Defensive to offensive.. sure he knew all of the boy's tricks by now [20:56]
: "The dark side is not waste... It holds more power then you can ever dream of." The boy countered, "And my Master has taught me to use it well." He was saying this to see if Sidious was ready or not to see him shine. - Each move Mace made, Anakin learned in a way. He began to understand how Windu moved... how he thought. And it delighted him when the switch was made. Though Anakin was powerful offense, he had learned from Kenobi some tricks when it came to defense... and was holding him off.. just to wait for his master. [21:01]
: he knew his master would tire of this soon.. and strike.. it was anakin's duty to just hold on until he did so [21:02]
: Anakin wanted to kill him.. but of course, he was helping... and he wanted more to fight him.. to learn this Jedi's techniques.. and the only way to do that was to make him fight in every way possible. The boy was good at learning some things. "After you fall.. your order will join you... clensed from Coruscant forever.." [21:04]
: Mace was becoming more and more agressive in his attacks.... the boy's taunting was working.... it was only a matter of itme [21:04]
: "Too bad you're so stuborn.. the dark side would have fit you perfectly." The boy goaded, noticing the agressive strikes. So very un-jedi like. [21:07]
: It would be at least another fifteen minutes before his master would step in.... and hit him from behind with force lightning [21:07]
: And Anakin stepped away from him, moving to swipe the lightsaber away from Mace's hands.. or perhaps part his hands from his wrists. [21:09]
: The Jedi was too stunned from the attack from behind..... that he did not bother to defend.... Palpatine enjoyed the the man's agony for a few moments before casually tossing him out the tempered glass window and into the aerial traffic outside... it was a long way down... [21:10]
: Anakin licked his lips, holstering his lightsaber onto his belt. "Looks like the Jedi have turned traitor against the Republic.." He stated, enjoying his 'warmup'. [21:11]
: "Then go in our name and make them pay... " Palpatine said with a slow smile ... "Enjoy yourself" [21:13]
: He bowed his head. "Yes.. Master." A smile pulled at the boy's lips, "Tomorrow... the empire.." He inclined his chin, "And a galaxy of peace... and order.." Peace at the point of a gun but Anakin was one of those types... he pulled on a fresh robe before heading to rally his troops. [21:16]
: It was his master's turn to order his own troops ..... to kill the Jedi they currently fought with ... he activated order 66.... causing the clones to turn on their allies.... the Jedi [21:18]
: So Jedi died around the galaxy... as troops marched on the temple. Fires burned, making the destruction evident even from the distance of the senate.. as the Sith Apprentice slaughtered padawans, knights, and even masters who were almost helpless against him. [21:22]
: Obi felt it.... he could feel the disturbances in the force..... it pained his heart.... while Shmi was busy looking after Padme he slipped off to find a bar.... he was back where he started... in the underbelly of Coruscant feeling sorry for himself [21:24]
: While the Jedi were being massacured... Obi-Wan could have been with them. But he never made it as a padawan. Instead, he met a small boy in a desert world, and fell inlove the boy's mother. But it was that boy.. that kind, loving boy, who was leading the massacure at the temple. Advancing room by room, and corridor by corridor with an army of clone troopers. [21:25]
: He'd set things into motion.. he was sure of it.... but he was also sure that it would have happened... with or without him [21:26]
: That even if he had been a Jedi.. he would have met the boy.. perhaps the boy would have been his padawan by some fluke.. and in the end.. would still be leading this army.. but without the 'promise' to do what he could for the younglings. If they didn't raise arms against the Sith, they would be spared. [21:29]
: Likely though... few would survive.... the only answer now was to block it out with the oblivion of the bottle.... until things calmed down... until he could stomach living again [21:30]
: Shmi was worried about her family, but, she managed to keep herself busy with her daughter-in-law... and the grandchild she carried. "Do you need me to get you anything?" She asked Padme softly, frowning at the fire at the Jedi temple that they could see from the window. [21:34]
: "No.. Im fine... " Padme said... "What do you suppose is going on?" [21:35]
: Shmi shook her head. "I do not know for sure. Ben is off drinking and I do not think I should stop him right now." She rested a hand on her back. "Come.. you should sit down." [21:36]
: Padme nodded.... she was a bit worried about Anakin... but she knew he would be safe [21:38]
: She didn't know where he was.. last thing she knew, he was at the Chancellor's office... but really, he was approuching the Master's chambers, his hood pulled up over his face. He could sense Jedi hiding in there. The younglings most likely... and now would be the time to discover if they were willing to surrender.. or if they wanted to go down fighting like the others. It's not like they had ever seen him before. [21:40]
: They were to be no more trusted than the older Jedi..... but Anakin was doing this for Ben.... by his request... he really didn want to disappoint him.... but if he had to kill them .... thats just the way things were [21:41]
: He knew his orders as he entered the chambers, sending the Clones down to watch the end of the hall.. incase anyone tried to run. They had their orders.. and they knew no mercy. - His yellowed eyes scanned the dark room. He could feel them... hiding around the empty chairs where the council sat. It reminded him of all those years ago when he stood in these chambers, being called too dangerous and suggested that he be kept there forever.. or worse. [21:48]
: They were frightened of him... hiding... but he still didnt trust that they wouldnt attack [21:49]
: "I know you're in here." He called out, peering around in the darkness. "You have two choices. Abandon this weak pathetic order and surrender. You will be alive and taught new ways... or you can go down with it. Cling to the Jedi and die like the rest." [21:53]
: The children werent sure what he meant.... were all the others dead then? what were they supposed to do.... .this had been their home.. their family.. [21:55]
: Vader moved around the chairs, gazing down at a group of hudding younglings behind it. He knew they were all like that... younglins behind each chair.. gathered together.. afraid.. unsure. "You have your choice. No one will come and help you. It is either surrender to me or go to the force like your masters." [21:59]
: They were too scared to speak.... this was a decision none of them knew how to make at that point... survival... or corruption? [22:00]
: "Not all of you have to make the same choice... I will not punish all of you if some would rather join the Jedi in their fate." [22:04]
: A few had started crying.... it was too much for them.... [22:08]
: Vader pulled his lightsaber into his left hand to make sure the younglings knew he meant busness, and started to herd them out from the chairs, towards the middle of the room. He even ignited the crimson blade, showing his resolve. [22:09]
: They huddled there.... none could be more than Five or Six years old.... they were really too young to make a decision [22:11]
: There were a few that were closer to eight.. but most of those older ones had rushed off with lightsabers and had been killed by the clones. He gazed down at them, seeing their faces with the glow of his red lightsaber. He could easily dispatch them.. but that would be breaking his promise. Besides, it would be quiet a waste of such tallent. They were young enough to be taught new ways. To become the army of enforcers the Sith might need to keep the peace in the galaxy. "Come" He told them, glancing at the door and signelling a few clones. He would form a 'box' around them to keep them out of the way of blaster fire.. and escort them back to his master. [22:12]
: It was palpatine's ultimate decision on their fate [22:13]
: If they would live or die... and he was prepaired to carry out any order. His promise to Obi-Wan was to at least TRY and keep them alive if they didn't resist. And that is exactly what he was doing.. marching them back to the senate and into the office of the chancellor. [22:19]
: Palpatine seemed pleased however.... this many students.. at least a few of them would turn out to be useful "Put them someplace safe until we can finish cleaning up.... there are Jedi still loose... we wouldnt want a rescue attempt [22:21]
: "Yes Master." Vader bowed his head. He had a safe place.. but how was he to explain this to his wife? Well.. he would use as much of the truth as he could. That the Jedi had rebelled against the chancellor and he was given task of keeping the younglings safe and protected and away from the fighting. [22:23]
: He'd have to go see her once they were done.... and explain [22:24]
: So he took the children, close to thirty of them, home with him. At least he had room dispite having several guests living there already. The clones only came as far as the front door, there to make sure the children didn't try and run off. [22:25]
: "What.. exactly is going on Annie?" Padme asked .. frowning at the mass of children [22:26]
: "The Jedi have rebelled against the senate." He sighed, hanging up his robe and belt out of the way before herding the children along. "These are the younglings from the Jedi temple. The chancellor asked me to keep them safe." [22:29]
: "The Jedi.. turned?" Padme asked rather confused... Shmi took over the children.... they were scared.... and hungry.... and Ben was still absent [22:30]
: "They tried to assassinate the chancellor." He pulled at his tunic where Mace had cut into the fabric, "Tried to kill me too. I'm sure all of this will be recounted tomorrow at a special session of congress." [22:30]
: Padme nodded, examining the tunic then hugging Anakin tightly.. "I saw the fire... and was worried.. . Im so glad you are safe" [22:32]
: He smiled, kissing his wife's cheek. "I'm alright." He rubbed his hand down her back. "Where's Ben?" He asked, frowning as he didnt see his 'father' anywhere. - Shmi looked over the faces of the children and sighed softly, going into the kitchen to get them things to eat. She knew hunger and fear when she saw it. [22:32]
: "Ben.... he was very disturbed... and .... well he went to go find a bar.... at least we think thats where he went" [22:33]
: Anakin let out a sigh and kissed Padme again. "I'll go find him... think you and mom can keep an eye on the younglings for me? They shouldn't be any trouble." [22:34]
: "Yes.... you should find him before he gets himself in too dee" [22:34]
: Anakin nodded and went back for his robes and belt. "I'll be back soon my love." He smiled at her, then left, slipping them back on. [22:35]
: Ben was not exactly easy to find.... the drinking masked his presence quite well... he became oblivious to the Force and its workings while drunk [22:36]
: But Anakin was always good with finding things. besides, he knew where to start looking. The bottom floor of Coruscant. It only took a few bars too till he found his waward 'father'. "Ben!" He called out to him, slipping inside. [22:38]
: Obi hardly looked up .... he was contemplating a glass of noxious looking liquid.. Anakin could see that he was pained [22:38]
: Anakin moved over, sitting down with his hood pulled back. "What's wrong?" He asked gently, deciding to let the older man speak without him persuming anything. [22:39]
: "I felt it.... all ... I had to hide from it.... " [22:39]
: "It's over now... what's done is done.. no more hiding." Anakin said in a quiet voice, moving to place his hand on Obi-Wan's back. [22:43]
: "I never realized how attuned I still was.... " [22:43]
: "I have told you many times.. you are strong with the force. They were fools not to continue your training." [22:44]
: "It doesnt matter though does it. ? You would have killed me among them had they trained me.... and what I have.... is meaningless... now that the dark rules" [22:44]
: Anakin let out a sigh. "Come on Ben.. let's get you home. Mom's probably worried about you.. and we have some 'guests' that need attending to." [22:45]
: "Not sure how well I can walk... " [22:45]
: "It's alright. I have my speeder parked right outside." He smiled, trying to help the older man up. [22:46]
: Ben had to lean heavily against him..... he smelled of the sweet spirits he'd been drinking [22:47]
: Anakin got him into the passanger side and took the controls, flying them back up to his large appartment. At least Obi-Wan didn't seem mad at him for the things he'd had to do. [22:48]
: He was too drunk to care .... but he was happy to see his wife...... she clucked at him and told him he was a fool... [22:35]
: The little ones were all sitting around, having been giving cookies and drinks by Shmi. They were still terrified though. [22:36]
: "You would have done the same in my place Shmi" Ben said... squinting to see the kids "All of them?" [22:36]
: Anakin patted Obi-Wan on the back. "Yes. I found them in the council chamber.. hiding since the fighting began." He smiled, hoping it pleased his 'father' [22:38]
: "I. I'll talk to them when I can see them straight... " Ben said softly.... he had over a dozen children ... to show the path. [22:40]
: Over two dozen infact. There were close to thirty of them... quiet young.. scared... trembling at the site of Anakin - Anakin sighed, moving to find his wife as Shmi went to Ben, hugging him. [22:41]
: "Thank the stars that ... none of them attacked him.... " Ben said softly "I need to lie down" [22:42]
: "I told you." Shmi smiled softly, kissing Ben, "Come... you worried too much." She took his hand and moved to their guest room. [22:45]
: "He would have... had I not begged for them... " [22:46]
: "You really belive that?" She sat him on the bed and started helping him out of his clothes. [22:46]
: Ben sighed "We can never be sure now, can we?" He asked... curling up on the bed and shivering slightly [22:47]
: She kissed him, then pulled covers over him. "Tomorrow... I think it would be good if we help get the children away from here." [22:48]
: "Yes... I am sure they are scared of him.... there are troopers posted outside the door... like they are criminal [22:49]
: "I know they are afraid of him. I tried to settle them down as best i could. Now, I have to go back out there.. to make sure they are still alright. You get some rest, sober up, and if you get hungry, come on out." She smiled at him. She always knew what to say. [22:52]
: Ben nodded and hid under the pillows.... the light hurt his eyes at that moment [22:53]
: Anakin was sitting with his wife. "How have the little ones been so far?" [22:57]
: "They are so scared... I suppose I would be too... I pity them" [22:59]
: "They'll be alright. Their whole world just got turned upside down. Their families gave them to the Jedi years ago.. and now, the Jedi are dead.. they commited treason. So, now, something must be done about these children. they can be taught new ways of looking at things. Taught that the jedi way isn't the right way." [23:00]
: Padme sighed "Some of the Jedi were good people..... not all of them deserved this for the faults of their leaders..... still.... [23:02]
: "But even the good ones were loyal... I'm sorry that... it had to happen that way. But, hopefully, the war will be over now." He pulled his arms around her and kissed her. [23:03]
: "At least our child will be able to grow up in a time of peace" Padme said... stroking her belly gently [23:05]
: "That's all I ever wanted. No more war.. no more fighting... peace.. security... for everyone." He lowered his hand to her belly and stroked it gently. [23:09]
: Padme closed her eyes and smled "You'll be able to spend time with me and the children" [23:10]
: "Yes. I promised you that. We will have a family.... and there will be our love." He smiled, looking down at her belly. He just hoped.. that what was going to happen the next day.. wouldn't hurt her... the empire. But he would be there for her. [23:14]
: "Time to get some rest I suppose... Im sure the senate is going to be a mess tomorrow" [23:15]
: He nodded and got up, taking her hand. "I'll spend some time with Mom and our new.. guests. You get some sleep." He kissed her cheek and lead her off to bed, tucking her in sort of the way Shmi tucked in Obi-Wan. [23:18]
: Padme nodded.... and yawned... have fun annie [23:19]
: He smiled and went back out to the kitchen where his mom was fixing some real food for all the hungry mouths. [23:29]
: "So many Anakin.... and they're all scared to death" [23:29]
: Shmi sighed.... "This is what Ben came from..." [23:30]
: Anakin moved up next to his mother. "I know... and none of them will be tossed out like he was. they'll be taken care of... trained.." [23:31]
: "Ben s going to train them... " [23:32]
: Shmi asked "I hope this isnt going to be.... hard on him" [23:34]
: "I think that would be best... I do not think my master would have the time to train them himself.. but Ben is a great teacher." He smiled, taking her hand for a momment to comfort her, "Mom.. everything will be alright now... the war will be over... and, he won't have to worry about me. I know thats what he has been doing. Worrying that I will become something I'm not. But I've always been me mom." [23:35]
: "Im more worried about him at this point... I hope this drinking doesnt continue... its not good for him at all.... " [23:36]
: "Then... we'll have to keep him away from it. I don't want to see him self destruct. I love him.. and I know what he means to you." [23:40]
: "I keep him as stable as possible... but then he never was..." [23:41]
: "I know... we've done so much for him.. and he for us.. but that is what being a family is about." He squeezed her hand tightly. "And our family is just getitng bigger.. Soon... my baby will be born.." [23:48]
: ""I cant wait to be a Grandmother" Shmi said with a slow smile "I never expected it from you... or my other adoptee... I always thought yuo were too career driven to slow down for a family" [23:50]
: "Mmm... I'm not so driven to not stop and smell the roses. I want this child.. so does Padme... and probably more." He grinned at his mom. "Besides.. who would continue the family if I didn't? No more Skywalkers is a sad prospect." [23:50]
: "True... I am sorry I could not give Ben a child.... we both agreed It wouldnt be good" [23:53]
: "Mm.. I wish that could have been possible too... but well... could you have afforded it? I mean.. you could barely afford me.. that's how I knew you loved me.. you never needed to say it. The fact that you took me in your arms.. fed me.. kept me safe.. proved.. you loved me. You didn't know what I was or how I came to be..." He patted her side, "I could have been anything... but you... your love.. it meant everything to me." [23:53]
: "Still does" [23:54]
: "Im supposing we are relocating here to Coruscant.... hopefully plants grow better here.. " Shmi said with a sigh "It is somewhat miserable where we are now.... but Ben is happy there" [23:55]
: "Well... I'm sure I can talk the chancellor into a bigger place to live." He didn't want to tell her about the empire.. not yet. Or what the rewards for being the apprentice would be in this new empire... that would take his family something to get used to. [23:58]
: "We dont have to live with you dear.... I think that might upset him .... " Shmi said with a sigh "He likes his privacy" [23:59]
: "Well then I'll find some place for you. Someplace near." He smiled, and set about helping her with dinner. he wasn't about to let those younglings go hungry either. He needed to show them that he wasn't bad. that the Sith were not the 'evil' the Jedi made them out to be. That the Jedi were 'evil' and would have left them to die.. convinced them to die with them rather then join the dark side. [00:00]
: They still eyed them with suspicion he had killed the only family hey had known.... and they might never fully trust him [00:02]
: But they would learn to trust Ben and Shmi... two wonderful people... - It was the next day that the empire was born.. under much confusion.. but the senate approved it. Many felt they didn;t have a choice. From his place by the new emperor's side, Anakin watched his wife from the side of his eye.. dispite the distance he could have sworn he saw her sad look. [00:05]
: He knew she would be sad ... the fact that she got up and left partway through the "ceremony" attested to that.... he knew there would be no repricussions.... she could state medical reasons [00:07]
: And as she was his wife, he could protect her from his master. Besides... he promised himself if his master tried to get between he and his family.. he would take the old man out. He felt he had no reason to unless that happend.. and was confident.. that Palpatine understood this fact at some level. That he was loyal to him as long as he was kept happy. [00:12]
: Palpatine knew that if he messed with Anakin's family... that was the end [00:15]
: The boy was fiercely loyal.. and his family came first. Thus, they stayed protect.. Palpatine would never loose his 'power source'. - That night, after the session, while a strike team of clones was sent after the sepertists... Anakin returned home to his wife and sighed softly, noticing her sour expression. Of course she'd be upset... she loved the Republic... but that didn't mean the senate was dead. [00:25]
: "I suppose its time for me to pack up and head back to Naboo... I wont be part of this" Padme said somberly [00:26]
: Anakin sighed and took her hands. "Love..." he began, sitting next to her on the couch. What was he supposed to say? He'd known for so long what was going to happen that day. He hadn't said anything to her. Not the faintest word. [00:28]
: "Everything is going to be all wrong now... " she said sadly "I want to go home.. " [00:29]
: "It will be ok.,. everything will be ok... I promise you. We don't have to hide any more... the war is over... and there will be peace in the galaxy at last." He frowned a bit, hoping to sooth her over but.. not sure what he could do. [00:38]
: "I have no job now... " padme said with a frown "Just a pretty little acessory... I dont want to be here anymore... why represent a planet when the decisions I make can be vetoed at any time. " [00:39]
: "Someone needs to be the voice of reason... don't they? Someone needs to give the people hope and a sense that someone hears them. If you give up.. what will that tell them?" He frowned a bit, feeling bad that he had to be the one to give her such terrible news. [00:40]
: "And If I go along with it... it just means that I agree... ; [00:40]
: He sighed, and rested his hand on her belly. "At least stay put here.. untill the baby is born? Then we can go.. anywhere you like." [00:42]
: "The senate was good..... there were so many different people with different needs... now one person decides what everyone needs..... " [00:44]
: "For the greater good. No more fighting.. no more war.. we have security.." He sighed. He didn't want to argue with her. He loved her too much.. but he felt like stating his beliefs anyway. [00:46]
: Padme shook her head and sighed "Im going to lie down... " [00:47]
: He stood, taking her hands. "I'll tuck you in and bring you something to eat alright?" He was worried about her.. but also.. their child. If she got too stressed.. their child might be harmed. [00:50]
: "Im sorry Annie.. " She said... wincing as she rose to go to their room [00:51]
: He followed her, hoping.. she would come to her senses in time. That her love for him would win out in the end. [00:59]
: Padme settled herself in and heaved a heavy sigh "Im just depressed Annie... Im sorryu" [01:01]
: "I'm sorry.. I didn't want to... have this happen. I knew it would be hard on you. But, i was hoping.. it would pass in time." He pulled covers around her, "Padme.. I love you... so much. But you know me.. I want peace and security for the galaxy... and.. I have been working towards that goal for thirteen years." [01:04]
: "It will be alright... Its just that Palpatine .... has no wish for the wellbeing of all peoples" [01:05]
: "That belief is why we still need people like you in the senate. To work out what is best. To show him anything he might miss." [01:07]
: "Even if I do point out things he missed... he will not act on it unless it benefits him in some way" [01:09]
: "I will be there.. I'm at his side..." He put a hand to her face. "There is more.. I need to tell you... but, I think you need to rest for now. Not just for you.. but for our baby." [01:12]
: "I dont want decisions to be made because of you.. I dont want special favor.. " padme grumped.... "I want things to be fair..." [01:13]
: "What is fair? Is letting people suffer fair?" He frowned, "Under the Republic the people of Tatooine.. the slaves like I used to be.. suffered even though slavery was against the law." [01:15]
: "We didnt have enough people to police every world..." [01:16]
: "we will soon enough. That is the promise the empire brings. Things will be set right. Not allowed to get out of hand as they had in the Republic." [01:21]
: "Clones under his command" [01:23]
: "We'll talk more in the morning my love." He kissed her cheek. Actually.. it would be clones under HIS command. As the apprentice.. he would control the armies for his master... and enforce his will. [01:29]
: "I just dont.... want any more tradgedy to occur.... too much has happened already" [01:30]
: "Which is why you need to rest. don't want something to happen to you and the baby." He smiled, curious about what sort of tradgety she might be refuring to. [01:39]
: Padme's life was tied up a few days later.. the children were born.. and she was enraptured with them..... it was a suprirse.... twins [01:40]
: Luke and Leia... a boy and a girl.. so beautiful.. so precious.. it was hard to put them down.. for either of the. But, after Padme was feeling a bit better, Anakin made sure that the two were safely with Shmi and Obi-Wan so he could have a 'talk' with his beloved wife. - He sat on the bed next to her, holding her hands. "My love.. there is something.. I have to tell you. That.. I wasn't allowed to say before for your protection..." [01:42]
: Padme nodded.... and waited patiently... she always feared the worst" [01:44]
: "I never wanted to keep this a secret from you.. so please.. don't hate me for it." He kissed her hand, "Have you ever noticed my lightsaber Padme? It's color?" [01:45]
: "Thats the one youve always had..." [01:46]
: "I made a new one.. after I first came to Coruscant. My master.. taught me how. Took me in.. kept me safe from the Jedi who would have either imprisoned me or killed me. All because they didn't want him to find me in the first place." [01:47]
: "Your master... you mean?" [01:51]
: "The emperor..." He closed his eyes and sighed softly. "I've been afraid to tell you.. while you were pregnant.. just incase.. it hurt you to hear. The Jedi told so many lies to the Republic that those that.. knew.. would be quiet upset." He kissed her. [01:58]
: "So... basically we're all.... doomed" [01:58]
: "What?" He frowned, but his voice was soft.. not angry. "Padme..... what do you mean?" [02:03]
: "He is Sith... I firmly believe that the Jedi were not lying about them... there is plenty of documentation from other sources as well" [02:04]
: "Padme.. I... am Sith." He held her hands. "Do you think the Jedi were right about ME?" [02:10]
: "They were... because you killed them all..." [02:13]
: "My love.. I killed them.. because they were the enemy. Because they were evil.. please.. understand that." [02:16]
: "I cant believe that someone who would provide humanitarian aid in so many places... healers, scouts..... everything... could be evil.... when there were refugees on Naboo.... they sent healers..... and that is evil?" [02:18]
: Anakin knew this wouldn't be easy. "Do you trust me, Padme?" [02:21]
: "I.... I dont know now.... " [02:22]
: That made his heart hurt. After all he'd done for her.. after all they'd been through. She'd didn't KNOW? - He trembled slightly from the shock of those words and let go of her, breathing hard as he gazed at her. "Padme.." [02:24]
: "You did all of these things behind my back.... you labored to make things "Better" but now... I dont know" [02:25]
: "I love you Padme.. I always have... I love you so much.. please.. you have to trust me." [02:30]
: Padme sighed "Its hard to trust you when you do things ..... like this behind my back" [02:31]
: "I... I couldn't tell you. I wasn't allowed." He leaned back on his knees, pain filling his eyes from her words. [02:38]
: Padme stood up and looked down at him "Do you realize.. how much it hurts to know my own husband was the one undermining everything I was trying to do?" [02:40]
: "I was not undermining you... I carried out my master's will.. but I did not cause things to happen." [02:49]
: Padme sighed and sank down with him.... wrapping her arms around him "I have no choice but to live with whats happened" [02:50]
: "I want you to be happy padme... i just... need you to be happy." He pulled his arms around her. "I love you so much... you and the babies are all that really matter. I'd die for you." [03:02]
: "Im going to try... for you... but I dont know if I can sit by if bad things start happening.... I will give this a chance" [03:04]
: "Nothing bad will happen.. I promise you... I will make sure of that. You and our children will be safe." He rubbed his hands down her back, rocking her a little to try and reassure her. He loved her so much. He couldn't loose her over this. He couldn't belive that she would ever stop loving him. Of course, stop loving someone and being able to be with them were two different things. [03:15]
: "im not worried about myself or the children Annie..." [03:16]
: "Then what do you worry about?" [03:17]
: "I love people Anakin... I want to help them... not hurt them.... it shames me the things that have happened" [03:18]
: "I love people too... I will do what I can to help them. I'm not a bad man padme. You know that." [03:22]
: "I know... youa re the best person I know" [03:24]
: "You know my mom though. And I know you. You're an angel.. and my mom is a saint... close enough to be an angel." He ran his hand down her face, smiling softly. [03:31]
: "I know..... " Padme said softly... snuggling against him [03:31]
: "Things will be alright.... Its just.... a little upsetting" [03:33]
: "But I will be here for you... always. Never forget that." He managed a smile as he kissed her cheek. "And we hve the children." [03:34]
: "Yes... please Annie...lets not train them.... I think they are quite powerful... I could feel it before thy were even born..." [03:35]
: "Not train them? Not at all? Not allowed to use their gifts? What.. if they ask?" [03:37]
: "Im... afraid that they would be taken away" [03:37]
: "No. Never. they will never be taken. They are safe with us. And I will keep it that way." [03:38]
: "As long as you promise" [03:39]
: "I swear on my life... on everything..." He kissed her, sighing a bit. [03:46]
: "Good... then lets just get on with things... and live.... as best we can: [03:48]
: He smiled. "As long as we are together.. I will be happy." [03:58]
: In the coming years.... things were alright.. Ben was training his students.... and carefully forwarding crystals to cloud on Midgarr..... the second school was still going... in secret he hoped... [03:59]
: Anakin got to spend much time with his family.. which brought him joy. He was happy carrying his twins around and doting on his wife when she allowed him to. He was happy making sure Obi-Wan was also kept 'happy' with his students. [04:04]
: Ben had never been happier.... except for when the emperor called in inspections.... he did not like scrutiny of his teachin methods [04:05]
: Anakin would always be there with him though... standing at the side of the emperor however, instead of Kenobi's. But he would always assure Palpatine that the teachings were good.. and that the students would be ready for indivudal instruction in time. [04:07]
: He didnt know that in a way ... Ben was betraying him.... Cloud's students were being taught the old ways [04:09]
: Anakin turned a blind eye to it however. He loved his 'father', and as long as the younglings stayed put he saw no real conflict. At least not yet. [04:14]
: Ben had left his adopted daughter on Midgarr ... along with Cloud... he'd been afraid to bring her along to Coruscant.... lest she be taken.... she was a troubled and troublesome child.... also quite talented..... she'd cause trouble some day he was sure.... [04:17]
: And he didn't want her getting involved with the dark side it seemed. Not like Anakin. Obi-Wan had since seen the powers of the Sith Apprentice. He had shown off a few times for the younglings, showing them what they could accomplish in time. [04:20]
: The younglings were impressed... but still fearful of him.... the more promising ones had already been marked for continued training [04:21]
: None would be turned away from service.. but some would continue into dark training.. while others would be sent into more axilierary training.. and perhaps even made to be teachers. [04:25]
: Ben wanted to send some to Cloud... ones who would never be right for the darkside... but he couldnt ask Anakin .... it would reveal too much he supposed..... the boy surely knew already though [04:26]
: But the boy could keep it from his master... as long as Ben didn't tell him directly. - Personally, Anakin wanted to train his twins, but he'd promised Padme that he wouldn't unless they wanted him to teach them. He wouldn't deny them anything. [04:28]
: He could always arrange for extended stays with their "aunt" on Midgarr as they grew older.... [04:30]
: He could never betray Padme.. he could never lie to her. He shared everything.. even if it hurt to say. - When Obi-Wan was done training Anakin sat by him, watching the students at their evening meal. "Are you happy now?" The boy asked softly. [04:31]
: "I worry for them still... " [04:32]
: "They're alright. They are fed, taken care of, trained... they'll never be unhappy as you had been for seven years. They will always have something important to do for the Empire. It is their birthright." [04:35]
: "I know... I just... what happens to darksiders when they die? They go to the void.. because the force will not have them.." [04:36]
: "You think that will happen to me Ben?" Anakin frowned slightly, taking his hand and holding it tightly. [04:40]
: "I dont know... " [04:41]
: "They are learning the dark side.. I have embraced it.. I am Sith.." Anakin took his hand off of Ben's and placed it to the older man's face to turn it towards him. [04:44]
: "I think as long as you .... always hold onto yourself you are safe" [04:45]
: Anakin chuckled softly. "I thought you belived more in the absense of self.. like the Jedi tried to." He smiled a bit. "I think clinging too much once life is done is what leads to... being rejected by the force." [04:47]
: "I believe in the living force.. " [04:48]
: "I love Padme... eventually.. she will.. die. And I do not want to live without her. Where she goes.. I will follow.. " [04:50]
: "Im just worried about the others.... that is all... but I have taught them to listen to the force... to let it lead them.... " [04:51]
: "In the end.. it will be their choice.. as it is with anyone." Anakin gave him a smile. "just don't lose yourself alright?" [04:54]
: "I wont Annie... Im content.... and your mother keeps her eye on me" [04:55]
: "I know.. she loves you so much. And I know the two of you wouldn't want to be parted either." He smiled a bit and kissed Obi-Wan's cheeks. [04:59]
: Ben sighed "You know about the others dont you?" [05:00]
: "Shhh.." He rubbed at Obi-Wan's beard, "Let's not discuss this." He gave him a sad smile before standing up. "Now.. you should get home.. before mom worries about you. She's watching Luke and Leia right now." [05:03]
: Ben nodded.... "alright.. " he said softly.... at least Anakin understood that the others existed.... they werent instructed at all to hate the darksiders.. just to work differently... Ben hoped that one day the two sides would see eye to eye again [05:05]
: "I have to get back to Padme too..." He smiled, "I'm just.. happy we can be arm and arm again... I missed you for those years when we wern't really speaking." [05:06]
: "Im sorry for that Annie.... I shouldnt have acted so childishly [05:07]
: "It's alright. You had every right to be upset... And i wish I could have told you... helped you to understand sooner." [05:09]
: Obi clapped him softly on the shoulder "Things are good now... a new start... " [05:11]
: "I was always meant for this Ben... that is what you did't understand back then. That I had to channel my anger.. my rage... things that had curled up inside for so long... With the Sith I could become more powerful from it.. rather then suffer." [05:14]
: "I know that now Annie... Im glad Ive finally been able to see that" [05:15]
: "As am I." He embraced his 'father', smiling, then took off for home. [05:16]
: Ben went home to shmi.... it was peaceful... he could rest... and take care of his wife.... there was nothing to worry about now [05:17]
: And Shmi enjoyed the fact that her beloved had been doing much better the last few years. The fact that he was no longer depressed, made her so happy. [05:21]
: Ben was home for her.... helping her around hte house.... and not drinking.... he even came home in moods good enough to swing her into his arms and dance around the room at times..... and he'd been so afraid of this .. [05:24]
: But his fears had been proved wrong.. Anakin hadn't changed... he hadn't lost compassion.. love... but he did do whatever the emperor wanted. Even if that meant killing people.
