Sephiroth is asleep in Zack's coffin, clutching the year and a half-old dead body. Is dreaming

Zack stands there in the dream.... A stern look on his face

Sephiroth looks at him

Zack says, "Sephiroth.... Why are you doing this?"

Sephiroth says, "I... I'm.... "

Sephiroth sighs

Zack gestures at the scenery.... Which shows Tifa sleeping... and the closed casket

Sephiroth says, "lonely, depressed, afraid. My heart filled with pain. Threatening to kill it"

Zack says, "You must find another way.... It's not time for you to be here yet..."

Sephiroth says, "how long must I wait?"

Zack says, "I can't say.... It will ruin the surprise"

Sephiroth says, "oh"

Zack gives Sephiroth one of his winning grins

Sephiroth sits down and smiles slightly

Zack says, "Now.... Several matters at hand.... Part of the reason... Im here"

Sephiroth says, "yes?"

Zack says, "Cloud... either kill him.... Or get the flip away.... He's only causing you pain...."

Sephiroth says, "I know"

Zack says, "And you're causing him more than he needs as well... he's already guilty enough"

Sephiroth says, "he is?"

Zack says, "Sephiroth.... He was drunk... piss ass drunk.... Half of the stuff he has told you about my death isn't true"

Sephiroth looks at him

Sephiroth says, "what?"

Zack says, "well.... He didn't lead me out.... We both kinda stumbled our way into the darkness.... Drinking was a bad habit..."

Sephiroth says, "I know"

Zack says, "We got into a little argument.... It had started raining... and we sheltered in the cave... we were found in. The argument got worse.... And I started throwing punches... we were both rather angry... he grabbed my sword to defend himself... and the rest is history... The lil bugger got in a deathblow on the first hack..."

Sephiroth says, "what did he do?"

Zack says, "he curled up in the corner and cried... I was stone dead... shortly after.... "

Sephiroth blinks

Zack says, "He's just been telling you the things.... He has been.... To try and place some blame on you"

Sephiroth says, "well... it worked"

Zack says, "No shit.... You're laying in my coffin..."

Sephiroth says, "I know"

Zack says, "You weren't very nice to the kid... But who can blame you... you didn't know... he didn't quite remember what he had done...."

Sephiroth says, "my rage was horrible. ...."

Zack says, "My heart would say to go apologize to him... but he wouldn't believe any of this stuff.... He still blames himself... it was all of our fault... in a way"

Sephiroth says, "..."

Zack says, "Mine for attacking him in that cave... and driving him to a desperate move to escape harm.... Yours for not telling him.... And his.... For.... Well... Uhnn... caring too much?"

Zack seems to ponder that last statement

Sephiroth closes his eyes and sighs

Zack says, "If I had a second chance... there would be no booze..."

Sephiroth says, "and?"

Zack says, "And I would have made you be straight with the kid"

Sephiroth nods

Zack says, "I saw the way he looked at you... the way he acted around you... and knew"

Sephiroth says, "knew?"

Zack says, "Knew that he had the hots for you.... Bad..."

Sephiroth says, "hmmm"

Sephiroth looks up at Zack

Sephiroth says, "what am I supposed to do?"

Zack says, "Stay alive..."

Sephiroth says, "how?"

Zack says, "Perhaps if you have any heart left at all... you can try to fix the little bastard...."

Sephiroth says, "my heart ... It's almost dead.... To much pain"

Zack says, "Cloud isn't exactly guilty... but he has himself thinking he is... he accepted it pretty readily"

Sephiroth says, "Zack ... how did he kill you then?"

Zack says, "Like I said... I was kicking the crap outta him... he grabbed my sword... to defend himself.... And whoops. Well he didn't exactly stop after the first blow... it didn't take me down... He was a very sloppy swordsman"

Sephiroth says, "..."

Zack says, "Afterwards he just curled up in a ball and cried... realizing what he'd done.... He started to dig himself out cuz he didn't wanna be trapped with a corpse"

Sephiroth says, "..."

Zack says, "Look... I know you hate him..."

Sephiroth says, "..."

Sephiroth looks at Zack

Zack says, "I want you to take him... get him out of here.... And set him loose somewhere..."

Sephiroth says, "then what?"

Zack says, "Then find a way to live without me"

Sephiroth looks down

Sephiroth says, "how am I supposed to do that?"

Zack says, "You figured out how to do it before you met me didn't you?"

Sephiroth says, "Zack, the pain.... It ... It's killing my heart. I can live, but ... I'll be like my brother"

Zack says, "Seph... Look at me... I'm not gonna talk to you if you die now... "

Sephiroth says, "oh"

Zack says, "You can float around in the afterlife and cool your jets for a few millennia"

Sephiroth says, "alone?"

Zack says, "There's lots of people in there Seph..."

Sephiroth says, "..."

Zack says, "And anyway... if you kill yourself... you wont be able to see me anyway"

Sephiroth looks at him

Sephiroth says, "what will happen?"

Zack says, "Oh... well Its not fun..."

Sephiroth lies on the ground

Zack says, "Perpetual pain and loneliness.... We get a grand tour when we all get here"

Sephiroth says, "you mean, more of what I feel now?"

Zack sits down beside Sephiroth

Zack says, "More? Let's say forever.... Perpetual.... You can heal yourself you know"

Sephiroth says, "how?"

Zack says, "Help Cloud perhaps? Help anyone for that matter"

Sephiroth says, "..."

Zack says, "You be a good boy and you'll get to be with me for eternity"

Sephiroth says, " I don't know how"

Sephiroth looks at him

Sephiroth says, "and if ... I end up like my brother?"

Zack says, "Don't..."

Sephiroth says, "..."

Zack says, "You have to make sure you stay on the right path Sephiroth..."

Sephiroth says, "what happens?"

Zack says, "You'll be alone... Trust me.... Learn to care... care about anything.... Anyone... There are plenty of miserable people in that camp.... And in the world.... Make something of yourself!"

Sephiroth says, "I ...I ... I'll try"

Zack says, "People... who end up like Rufus... they.... Have their eyes opened.... And relive their lives over and over again... seeing the pain they caused others... They feel each pain they caused.... "

Sephiroth says, "and?"

Zack says, "Eternity of that.... Sephiroth ... its not a pretty sight"

Sephiroth reaches out to him

Zack takes Sephiroth's hand and kisses it

Sephiroth says, "... I don't think Rufus feels pain any more...."

Sephiroth smiles

Zack says, "I'll let you sleep a lil longer.... I miss you as well"

Sephiroth says, "oh, how I missed you"

Zack says, "just do me a favor... and dream about me sometimes? I do get to come back for dreams"

Sephiroth smiles

Sephiroth says, "I will"

Zack says, "Find someone for cloud... set him up.... He needs someone to take care of him... that's your first mission.... Of kindness"

Sephiroth says, "... I understand"

Zack says, "Rufus will feel pain... when he gets here... He'll feel all the pain he caused others... and his own pain... what he had become numb to...."

Sephiroth says, "how though? I know... he's been through allot of pain already been through"

Zack says, "they have ways here..."

Sephiroth says, "oh"

Sephiroth thinks about the terrible things he's done

Zack says, "Heh.... You have time to redeem yourself"

Sephiroth says, "love... what if ... He kills me before I get a chance to... "

Zack says, "Did I mention I can read your mind? Mmm? You've got some dirty thoughts in there..."

Sephiroth chuckles

Zack says, "Don't let him kill you.... "

Sephiroth says, "what will happen if he does?"

Zack says, "Have you made the decision to try and do good?"

Sephiroth says, "I'll do anything you ask"

Zack picks Sephiroth up and spins him around

Zack says, "Heh heh, Good"

Sephiroth smiles

Zack says, "Wake up love.... They're filling in your hole..."

Sephiroth looks around

Zack says, "As long as you hold me in your heart... and think of good.... If you die that way.... Trying.... You'll be okay"

Sephiroth nods

Sephiroth says, "and.. If not?"

Zack says, "Just do it"

Sephiroth says, "I will, I just want to know"

Zack says, "You'll be a very unhappy and very lonely man... "

Sephiroth nods

Sephiroth says, "alright, wake me up then"

Zack says, "Wake up.... Go ahead.... Don't be afraid... Im always here"

Sephiroth says, "if I die now, it'll still be by my own will... not cause they are filling in my hole"

Sephiroth smiles again

Zack shoves Sephiroth lightly.... And he jolts awake

Sephiroth pushes on the coffin lid

Tifa Lockheart is yelling at the men filling in the hole...

Tifa Lockheart says, "Quit it damn it... he's alive in there1"

Sephiroth gets the lid open. Let's go of the body, and climbs out

Tifa Lockheart says, "Phew..."

Sephiroth closes the coffin, after fixing the body. Climbs out of the hole.
