Visa Information
The Netherlands is a very welcoming and open country to visit, and as such, most SMOFcon members will not require any visa to travel.
Schengen Area
The Schengen area is a group of 25 European countries that allow free movement without border checks between the countries in the area. If travelling from a Schengen area country you do not require a visa to visit the Netherlands. However, you may be required to hold a Schengen visa, depending on your nationality. Please see the Dutch embassy website for details.
UK/Ireland Visitors
The UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengen area, but are part of the EU, so citizens can travel freely on presentation of a valid passport. No visa is required.
Non-EU citizens living in the UK and Ireland may be required to apply for a Schengen visa.
Visitors from the USA
US visitors (and visitors from many other non EU countries) may travel for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. Please check the US Department of State's travel advice.
Visitors from other countries
Please check if you are on the list of countries requiring a visa for stays of less than 90 days. If you are, please ensure you apply for a visa in plenty of time to ensure you will not be turned away.
