Celebrating Bill Trask's 75th at Durgin Park
My father's birthday is August 31, but, due to how busy I knew I'd be that day, I asked them to come into Boston on Monday, August 30. As Jim was setting up the Noreascon office, he wasn't able to join us. But the weather was great, and Durgin Park remains one of Dad's favorite restaurants. We had traditional lunches of Yankee dishes like chicken pie, turkey and fish cakes. Dad wanted strawberry shortcake, but, to our horror, they were out of it. The restaurant thoughtfully comped him an apple pie, brought it to him with a candle and sang "Happy Birthday" to him.
